2 Kings 5
1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given victory unto Syria: he was also a mighty man of valour, [but he was] a leper.
౧సిరియా రాజు సైన్యాధిపతి పేరు నయమాను. అతని ద్వారా యెహోవా సిరియా దేశానికి విజయాలిచ్చాడు. అందుచేత అతడు తన రాజు దృష్టిలో గొప్పవాడూ, గౌరవనీయుడూ అయ్యాడు. ఎంతో ధైర్యవంతుడూ, బలవంతుడూ అయినప్పటికీ అతడు కుష్టు రోగి.
2 And the Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
౨సిరియనులు దోపిడీలు చేయడానికి దళాలుగా ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశంలోకి వెళ్తూ ఉండేవారు. ఒకసారి వారు అక్కడనుండి ఒక అమ్మాయిని బందీగా పట్టుకుని వచ్చారు. ఆ అమ్మాయి నయమాను భార్యకు పరిచారిక అయింది.
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy.
౩ఆ అమ్మాయి తన యజమానురాలితో “షోమ్రోనులో ఉన్న ప్రవక్త దగ్గరికి నా యజమాని వెళ్ళాలని ఎంతో ఆశిస్తున్నాను. ఎందుకంటే ఆయన నా యజమాని కుష్టురోగాన్ని నయం చేస్తాడు” అంది.
4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
౪కాబట్టి నయమాను తన రాజు దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశం నుండి వచ్చిన అమ్మాయి చెప్పిన మాటను వివరించాడు.
5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
౫సిరియా రాజు “నీవు వెళ్ళు. నేను ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకి లేఖ పంపిస్తాను” అన్నాడు. నయమాను తనతో మూడు వందల నలభై కిలోల వెండీ, ఆరు వేల తులాల బంగారం, పది జతల బట్టలూ తీసుకుని బయల్దేరాడు. వాటితో పాటు ఆ లేఖను కూడా తీసుకు వెళ్ళి ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకి అందించాడు.
6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
౬ఆ లేఖలో “నా సేవకుడైన నయమానుకి ఉన్న కుష్టురోగాన్ని నీవు బాగు చేయాలి. అందుకే ఈ లేఖను అతనికిచ్చి పంపిస్తున్నాను” అని ఉంది.
7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
౭ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు ఆ లేఖ చదివి తన బట్టలు చింపుకున్నాడు. “ఒక మనిషికి ఉన్న కుష్టురోగాన్ని బాగు చేయమని ఇతడు నాకు లేఖ రాయడం ఏమిటి? మనుషులను చంపడానికీ బ్రతికించడానికీ నేనేమన్నా దేవుడినా? ఇతడు నాతో వివాదం పెట్టుకోవాలని చూస్తున్నట్టు నాకు అనిపిస్తూ ఉంది” అన్నాడు.
8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
౮ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు తన బట్టలు చింపుకొన్న సంగతి దేవుని మనిషి ఎలీషా విన్నాడు. అప్పుడు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకి “నీ బట్టలెందుకు చింపుకున్నావు? అతణ్ణి నా దగ్గరికి పంపు. ఇశ్రాయేలులో ఒక ప్రవక్త ఉన్నాడని అతడు తెలుసుకుంటాడు” అని సందేశం పంపించాడు.
9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
౯కాబట్టి నయమాను తన గుర్రాలతో, రథాలన్నిటితో వచ్చి ఎలీషా యింటి గుమ్మం ఎదుట నిలిచాడు.
10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
౧౦ఎలీషా ఒక వార్తాహరుడి చేత “నీవు వెళ్లి యొర్దాను నదిలో ఏడు మునకలు వెయ్యి. నీ శరీరం పూర్వస్థితికి వస్తుంది. నీవు పరిశుభ్రం అవుతావు” అని కబురు చేశాడు.
11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
౧౧నయమానుకు కోపం వచ్చింది. అక్కడ నుండి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు. “ఆ వ్యక్తి బయటకు వచ్చి నా దగ్గర నిలిచి తన దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థన చేసి నా వంటిపై కుష్టురోగం ఉన్న చోట తన చెయ్యి ఆడించి బాగు చేస్తాడనుకున్నాను.
12 Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
౧౨ఇశ్రాయేలులో ఉన్న నదులన్నిటి కంటే దమస్కులోని అమానా, ఫర్పరు నదులు మంచివి కాదా? నేను వాటిలో స్నానం చేసి శుద్ధి పొందలేనా?” అంటూ తీవ్ర కోపంతో అక్కడినుండి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
౧౩అప్పుడు నయమాను సేవకులు అతని దగ్గరికి వచ్చి “అయ్యా, ఆ ప్రవక్త ఒకవేళ ఏదన్నా కష్టమైన పని చేయమంటే నీవు తప్పకుండా చేసే వాడివే కదా! దానికంటే ‘నీటిలో మునిగి బాగు పడు’ అని అతడు చెప్పడం ఇంకా మంచిదే కదా” అన్నారు.
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
౧౪అప్పుడు అతడు దేవుని మనిషి ఆదేశం ప్రకారం వెళ్ళి యొర్దాను నదిలో ఏడు సార్లు మునిగి లేచాడు. దాంతో అతని శరీరం పూర్తి స్వస్థత పొంది చిన్నపిల్లవాడి శరీరంలా పూర్వ స్థితికి వచ్చింది.
15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a present of thy servant.
౧౫నయమాను అప్పుడు సపరివార సమేతంగా తిరిగి దేవుని మనిషి దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. అతని ఎదుట నిలబడి ఇలా అన్నాడు “చూడండి, ఇశ్రాయేలులో తప్ప భూమి మీద ఎక్కడా వేరే దేవుడు లేడని ఇప్పుడు నాకు తెలిసింది. కాబట్టి ఇప్పుడు నీ సేవకుడిచ్చే కానుక మీరు తీసుకోవాలి.”
16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.
౧౬కానీ ఎలిషా “నేను దేవుని సన్నిధిలో నిలుచున్నాను. ఆయన మీద ఒట్టు. నేనేమీ తీసుకోను” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు. ఎలీషా కానుక తీసుకోవాల్సిందే, అంటూ నయమాను పట్టుపట్టాడు కానీ ఎలీషా ఒప్పుకోలేదు.
17 And Naaman said, If not, yet I pray thee let there be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of earth; for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
౧౭కాబట్టి నయమాను “అలా అయితే నీ సేవకుడిని అయిన నాకు రెండు కంచర గాడిదలు మోయగలిగే మట్టి ఇప్పించు. ఎందుకంటే నేను ఈ రోజు నుండి యెహోవాకి తప్పించి మరి ఏ దేవుడికీ దహనబలి గానీ ఇంకా ఏ ఇతర బలిని గానీ అర్పించను.
18 In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant; when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.
౧౮ఒక్క విషయంలో యెహోవా నీ సేవకుణ్ణి క్షమించాలి. అదేమిటంటే మా రాజుగారు రిమ్మోను దేవుణ్ణి పూజించడం కోసం మందిరంలో ప్రవేశించినప్పుడు నా చేతి మీద ఆనుకుంటాడు, అప్పుడు ఆయనతో పాటు నేను కూడా రిమ్మోను దేవుడి ఎదుట వంగుతాను. అలా నేను రిమ్మోను దేవుడి ఎదుట వంగినప్పుడు యెహోవా నీ సేవకుడినైన నన్ను క్షమిస్తాడు గాక” అన్నాడు.
19 And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.
౧౯అప్పుడు ఎలీషా “ప్రశాంతంగా వెళ్ళు” అన్నాడు. నయమాను అక్కడి నుండి కదిలాడు.
20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
౨౦అతడు అక్కడ నుండి కొద్ది దూరం వెళ్ళాక దేవుని మనిషి ఎలీషా సేవకుడైన గేహజీ ఇలా అనుకున్నాడు. “చూశావా, ఈ సిరియా వాడైన నయమాను తెచ్చిన కానుకలను తీసుకోకుండా నా యజమాని అతణ్ణి వదిలేశాడు. యెహోవా మీద ఒట్టు, నేనిప్పుడు పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వెళ్ళి అతని దగ్గర ఏదైనా తీసుకుంటాను.”
21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw one running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
౨౧ఇలా అనుకుని గేహజీ నయమాను వెనకాలే వెళ్ళాడు. తన వెనకాలే ఎవరో పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ రావడం నయమాను చూసి తన రథంపై నుండి దిగి అతణ్ణి కలుసుకుని “అంతా క్షేమమేనా?” అని అడిగాడు.
22 And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from the hill country of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets; give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of raiment.
౨౨గేహాజీ “అంతా క్షేమమే. నా యజమాని నన్ను పంపించాడు. ‘ఎఫ్రాయిము పర్వత ప్రాంతం లోని ప్రవక్తల సమాజం నుండి ఇద్దరు యువకులు ఇప్పుడే నా దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. మీరు దయచేసి వారి కోసం ముప్ఫై నాలుగు కిలోల వెండీ, రెండు జతల బట్టలూ ఇవ్వండి’ అని చెప్పమన్నాడు” అన్నాడు.
23 And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of raiment, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
౨౩అందుకు నయమాను “నీకు డెబ్భై కిలోలు సంతోషంగా ఇస్తాను” అన్నాడు. నయమాను గేహాజీని బలవంతపెట్టి రెండు బస్తాల్లో డెబ్భై కిలోల వెండి ఉంచి, రెండు జతల బట్టలూ ఇచ్చి వాటిని మోయడానికి తన దగ్గర ఉన్న ఇద్దరు పనివాళ్ళను పంపాడు. వారు వాటిని మోసుకుని గేహాజీ ముందు నడిచారు.
24 And when he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.
౨౪వారు పర్వతం దగ్గరికి వచ్చినప్పుడు గేహాజీ ఆ వెండి బస్తాలను తీసుకుని ఇంట్లో దాచిపెట్టి వాళ్ళను పంపించి వేశాడు. వారు వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.
౨౫తరువాత అతడు లోపలికి వెళ్ళి తన యజమాని ఎలీషా ఎదుట నిలబడ్డాడు. ఎలీషా అతణ్ణి “గేహజీ, నీవు ఎక్కడినుండి వస్తున్నావ్?” అని అడిగాడు. దానికి గేహాజీ “నీ సేవకుణ్ణి. నేను ఎక్కడికీ వెళ్ళలేదు” అన్నాడు.
26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart [with thee], when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards and vineyards, and sheep and oxen, and menservants and maidservants?
౨౬అప్పుడు ఎలీషా గేహజీతో “ఆ వ్యక్తి నిన్ను కలుసుకోడానికి తన రథాన్ని ఆపినప్పుడు నా ఆత్మ నీతో కూడా రాలేదనుకున్నావా? డబ్బూ, మంచి బట్టలూ, ఒలీవ తోటలూ, ద్రాక్ష తోటలూ, గొర్రెలూ, పశువులూ, సేవకులూ, సేవకురాళ్ళూ వీటిని సంపాదించుకోడానికి ఇదా సమయం?
27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper [as white] as snow.
౨౭అందుచేత నయమానుకి ఉన్న కుష్ఠు నీకూ, నీ వారసులకూ నిత్యం ఉంటుంది” అన్నాడు. కాబట్టి గేహాజీకి మంచులా తెల్లని కుష్టురోగం వచ్చింది. అతడు ఎలీషా దగ్గరనుండి వెళ్ళి పోయాడు.
