2 Chronicles 1

1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

Salomón, hijo de David, estaba firmemente establecido en su reino, y Yahvé su Dios estaba con él, y lo hizo sumamente grande.

2 And Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ [houses].

Salomón habló a todo Israel, a los capitanes de millares y de centenas, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, a los jefes de familia.

3 So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

Entonces Salomón, y toda la asamblea con él, se dirigió al lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, porque allí estaba la Tienda de Reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo de Yahvé, había hecho en el desierto.

4 But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to [the place] that David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Pero David había hecho subir el Arca de Dios desde Quiriat Jearim al lugar que David había preparado para ella, pues le había montado una tienda en Jerusalén.

5 Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

Además, el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezalel, hijo de Uri, hijo de Hur, estaba allí delante del tabernáculo de Yahvé, y Salomón y la asamblea estaban buscando consejo allí.

6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

Salomón subió allí al altar de bronce que estaba delante de Yahvé, en la Tienda del Encuentro, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

Esa noche, Dios se le apareció a Salomón y le dijo: “Pide lo que quieras que te dé”.

8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great kindness unto David my father, and hast made me king in his stead.

Salomón dijo a Dios: “Has mostrado una gran bondad amorosa con David mi padre, y me has hecho rey en su lugar.

9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Ahora, Yahvé Dios, haz que se cumpla tu promesa a David mi padre, pues me has hecho rey de un pueblo como el polvo de la tierra en multitud.

10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

Ahora dame sabiduría y conocimiento, para que pueda salir y entrar ante este pueblo; porque ¿quién podrá juzgar a este gran pueblo tuyo?”

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of them that hate thee; neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

Dios dijo a Salomón: “Porque esto estaba en tu corazón, y no has pedido riquezas, ni riquezas, ni honores, ni la vida de los que te odian, ni tampoco has pedido larga vida; sino que has pedido sabiduría y conocimiento para ti, para juzgar a mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he hecho rey,

12 wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

por lo tanto, la sabiduría y el conocimiento te son concedidos. Te daré riquezas, riqueza y honor, como no lo ha tenido ninguno de los reyes que han sido antes de ti, ni lo tendrá ninguno después de ti.”

13 So Solomon came [from his journey] to the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting, unto Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.

Salomón vino desde el lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, delante de la Tienda de las Reuniones, a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel.

14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

Salomón reunió carros y jinetes. Tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes que colocó en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalén.

15 And the king made silver and gold to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

El rey hizo que la plata y el oro fueran tan comunes como las piedras en Jerusalén, e hizo que los cedros fueran tan comunes como los sicómoros que hay en la llanura.

16 And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.

Los caballos que tenía Salomón fueron traídos de Egipto y de Kue. Los mercaderes del rey los compraron de Kue.

17 And they fetched up, and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.

Importaron de Egipto y luego exportaron un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata y un caballo por ciento cincuenta. También los exportaron a los reyes hititas y a los reyes sirios.
