< 1 Kings 16 >

1 And the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
Na Awurade asɛm baa Hanani babarima Yehu so tiaa Baasa sɛ,
2 Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
“Mepagyaw wo fii mfutuma mu, de wo tuaa me nkurɔfo Israel ano. Nanso wofaa Yeroboam kwan bɔne no so, maa me nkurɔfo Israel yɛɛ bɔne, maa wɔn bɔne a wɔyɛɛ no hyɛɛ me abufuw.
3 behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
Enti merebɛsɛe Baasa ne ne fi, na mɛyɛ wo fi te sɛ Nebat babarima Yeroboam de.
4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
Wɔn a wobewuwu wɔ kurow no mu a wɔyɛ Yeroboam dea no de, akraman bɛwe wɔn nam. Na wim nnomaa na wɔbɛsosɔw wɔn a wobewuwu wɔ wuram no.”
5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Na Baasa adedi ne ɛho nsɛm nkae, nea ɔyɛe ne ne nkɔso no, wɔakyerɛw agu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu.
6 And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
Baasa wui no, wosiee no wɔ Tirsa. Na ne babarima Ela dii nʼade sɛ ɔhene.
7 And moreover by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.
Na Awurade asɛm nam Hanani babarima odiyifo Yehu so baa Baasa ne ne fifo so, esiane bɔne dodow a na wayɛ wɔ Awurade ani so no nti. Saa nneyɛe no hyɛɛ Awurade abufuw. Na ɔyɛɛ sɛnea ɔyɛɛ Yeroboam fi no ara pɛ, efisɛ Baasa nso sɛee Yeroboam fi.
8 In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, [and reigned] two years.
Baasa babarima Ela fitii ase dii Israel so wɔ Tirsa a saa bere no, na ɔhene Asa adi ade wɔ Yuda mfe aduonu asia. Odii hene wɔ Israel mfe abien.
9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him: now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, which was over the household in Tirzah:
Na Simri, a na ɔyɛ ɔsafohene wɔ adehye nteaseɛnam no mu fa so, bɔɔ ne tirim pɔw sɛ obekum Ela. Da bi, Ela bow nsa wɔ Arsa a na ɔyɛ ahemfi sohwɛfo no fi wɔ Tirsa.
10 and Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
Simri kɔɔ hɔ de ade kɔbɔɔ no ma ɔhwee fam wui. Saa asɛm yi sii wɔ ɔhene Asa adedi wɔ Yuda no afe a ɛto so aduonu ason mu. Enti Simri bɛyɛɛ ɔhene a odi so.
11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha: he left him not a single man child, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
Ɛhɔ ara, Simri kunkum Baasa adehye abusua no mu nnipa nyinaa a wannyaw ɔbarima baako koraa; na wanhwɛ sɛ ɔyɛ obusuani anaa adamfo mpo.
12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
Simri sɛee Baasa ahenni nnidiso no, sɛnea na Awurade afa odiyifo Yehu so ahyɛ no.
13 for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and wherewith they made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
Eyinom sii esiane Baasa ne ne babarima Ela bɔne ne wɔn bɔne dodow a wodii Israel anim ma wɔyɛɛ no nti. Wɔde wɔn abosom huhuw hyɛɛ Onyankopɔn abufuw.
14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Ela ahenni ho nsɛm nkae ne dwuma a odii nyinaa no, wɔankyerɛw angu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana?
15 In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
Simri tenaa Tirsa dii ade wɔ Israel, bere a na ɔhene Asa adi ade wɔ Yuda mfe aduonu ason mu, nanso odii ade nnanson pɛ. Bere a Israel asraafo a na wɔrekɔtow ahyɛ Filistifo kurow Gibeton so no
16 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also smitten the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
tee sɛ Simri akum ɔhene no, woyii ɔsahene Omri de no dii ade sɛ wɔn hene foforo.
17 And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
Enti Omri dii Israel asraafo anim, fi Gibeton kotuaa Tirsa a ɛyɛ Israel ahenkurow no.
18 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
Bere a Simri huu sɛ wɔafa kurow no, ɔkɔɔ ɔhene atenae hɔ wɔ ne fi, na ɔhyew hɔ ne ne ho frae, maa owui wɔ ogyatannaa no mu.
19 for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
Na ɔno nso ayɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Odii Yeroboam anammɔn akyi, toaa bɔne a Yeroboam dii Israel anim yɛe no so.
20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Simri adedi ho nsɛm nkae ne ne pɔw bɔne a ɔbɔe no, wɔankyerɛw angu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana?
21 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
Na afei, na Israelfo no mu akyɛ abien. Na nnipa no mu fa pɛ sɛ wɔma Ginat babarima Tibni di wɔn so hene, na ɔfa a aka no nso gyinaa Omri akyi.
22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
Nanso Omri akyidifo no bu faa Ginat babarima Tibni akyidifo no so. Enti wokum Tibni, maa Omri dii ɔhene.
23 In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, [and reigned] twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
Omri fi ase dii hene wɔ Israel, bere a ɔhene Asa adi ade wɔ Yuda mfe aduasa baako mu. Ne nyinaa mu, odii ade mfe dumien a ɔde emu asia tenaa Tirsa.
24 And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.
Na Omri tɔɔ bepɔw bi a mprempren wɔfrɛ no Samaria fii ne wura Semer nkyɛn, dwetɛ kilogram aduosia awotwe. Ɔkyekyeree kurow wɔ so, na ɔtoo kurow no din Samaria, de hyɛɛ Semer anuonyam.
25 And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and dealt wickedly above all that were before him.
Nanso Omri yɛɛ bɔne Awurade ani so, na mpo, ne bɔne no so sen ahemfo a wodi nʼanim no de.
26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
Odii Yeroboam anammɔn akyi, kɔɔ so som abosom, sɛnea Yeroboam dii Israel anim ma wɔyɛɛ no. Ɔde eyi hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn, abufuw.
27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Omri adedi ho nsɛm nkae no ne nea ne tumi ano kosi ne ne dwuma a odii no, wɔankyerɛw angu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana?
28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
Omri wui no, wosiee no wɔ Samaria. Na ne babarima Ahab na odii nʼade sɛ ɔhene.
29 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
Omri ba Ahab fii ase dii Israel so hene bere a na ɔhene Asa adi ade wɔ Yuda mfe aduasa awotwe mu. Odii ade wɔ Samaria mfe aduonu abien.
30 And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.
Nanso Ahab yɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Mpo, na ne bɔne no so sen ahemfo a wodi nʼanim no nyinaa mu biara de.
31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
Na ɔyɛɛ nea Yeroboam yɛɛ wɔ bɔneyɛ mu no bi. Wamma no anso hɔ ara. Ɔwaree Isebel a na ɔyɛ Sidonfohene Etbaal babea, na ofii ase som Baal, sɔree no.
32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
Nea edi kan no, osii abosomfi ne afɔremuka maa Baal wɔ Samaria.
33 And Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
Afei, osii Asera dua. Ɔkɔɔ so yɛɛ pii de hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn abufuw sen ahemfo a wɔadi nʼanim wɔ Israel no nyinaa.
34 In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof with the loss of his youngest son Segub; according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by the hand of Joshua the son of Nun.
Ahab ahenni so na ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Hiel a ofi Bet-El san kyekyeree Yeriko. Ɔtoo fapem no, nʼabakan Abiram wui. Na otintim abɔntenpon de wiee no nso, ne kaakyiri Segub nso wui. Eyi nyinaa sisii, sɛnea asɛm a efi Awurade nkyɛn fa Yeriko ho a Nun babarima Yosua kae no te.
