Kanaafuu tajaajiltoonni isaa akkana jedhaniin; “Durba qulqulluu mooticha tajaajiltuu fi kunuunsitu haa barbaannu. Isheenis gooftaa keenya mootichatti bira ciiftee isa haa hoʼiftu.”
3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.

24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
Naataanis akkana jedhe; “Yaa gooftaa koo mootii, ati, ‘Adooniyaan natti aanee mootii taʼa; teessoo koo irras ni taaʼa’ jetteertaa?
25 For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath-sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king.
Daawit mootichi, “Mee Batisheebaa ol waamaa” jedhe. Kanaafuu isheen gara mootichaatti ol seentee fuula isaa dura dhaabatte.

Batisheebaanis addaan gad jettee harka fuutee fuula mootichaa duratti jilbeenfattee, “Gooftaan ko, Daawit mootichi bara baraan haa jiraatu!” jette.
32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
Daawit mootichis, “Mee Zaadoq lubicha, Naataan raajichaa fi Benaayaa ilma Yehooyaadaa as waamaa” jedhe. Yommuu isaan fuula mootichaa duratti dhiʼaatanitti,
33 And the king, said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

35 Then ye shall come up after him, and he shall come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be prince over Israel and over Judah.
Isinis ergasii isa wajjin ol baʼuu qabdu; innis dhufee teessoo koo irra taaʼee iddoo koo buʼee mootii taʼuu qaba. Ani akka inni bulchaa taʼuuf Israaʼelii fi Yihuudaa irratti isa muudeera.”
36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD, the God of my lord the king, say so [too].
Benaayaa ilmi Yehooyaadaa akkana jedhee mootichaaf deebise; “Ameen! Waaqayyo Waaqni gooftaa koo mootichaa akkasuma haa jedhu.
37 As the LORD hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
Waaqayyo akkuma gooftaa koo mooticha wajjin ture Solomoon wajjin haa taʼu; teessoo isaas teessoo gooftaa koo Daawit mootichaa caalaa haa jabeessu!”
38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.

42 While he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said, Come in; for thou art a worthy man, and bringest good tidings.
Utuma inni dubbachuutti jiruu, Yonaataan ilmi Abiyaataar lubichaa ni dhufe. Adooniyaanis, “Ol seeni. Jabaan akka keetii kun oduu gaarii fiduu qabaa” jedhe.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king:
Yonaataanis akkana jedhee deebise; “Akkas miti! Gooftaan keenya Daawit mootichi, Solomoonin mootii godheera.
44 and the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king’s mule:

47 And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, Thy God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne, and the king bowed himself upon the bed.
Qondaaltonni mootiis, ‘Waaqni kee maqaa kee caalaa maqaa Solomoon beekamaa godhee teessoo isaa illee teessoo kee caalaa haa guddisu!’ jedhanii gooftaa keenya Daawit mooticha eebbisuuf dhufaniiru. Mootichis siree isaa irratti gad jedhee sagade;
48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
innis, ‘Waaqayyo, Waaqni Israaʼel kan akka iji koo harʼa nama iddoo koo buʼee teessoo koo irra taaʼu argitu naa eeyyame sun haa eebbifamu’ jedhe.”
49 And all the guests of Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
Kana irrati keessummoonni Adooniyaa hundi rifatanii kaʼanii bibittinnaaʼan.
50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon; and he arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
Adooniyaan garuu Solomoonin sodaatee dhaqee gaanfa iddoo aarsaa qabate.
51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath laid hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me this day that he wilt not slay his servant with the sword.
Solomoonittis akkana jedhamee himame; “Adooniyaan Solomoon mooticha sodaatee gaanfa iddoo aarsaa qabatee itti cicheera. Innis, ‘Solomoon mootichi akka goraadeedhaan garbicha isaa hin ajjeefne harʼa naaf haa kakatu’ jedhe.”
52 And Solomon said, If he shall shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness be found in him, he shall die.
Solomoonis, “Yoo inni amanamaa taʼuu isaa mirkaneesse rifeensa mataa isaa keessaa tokko iyyuu lafa hin buʼu; garuu yoo hamminni isa keessatti argame inni ni duʼa” jedhee deebise.
53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and did obeisance to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house.
