1 Corinthians 15
1 Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,
Ngakho, bazalwane, ngilazisa ivangeli engalitshumayeza lona, lani elalemukelayo, njalo elimi kulo,
2 by which also ye are saved; [I make known, I say], in what words I preached it unto you, if ye hold it fast, except ye believed in vain.
njalo elisindiswa ngalo; uba libambelela elizwini levangeli engalitshumayela kini, ngaphandle kokuthi lakholwa ize.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Ngoba ngalinika okokuqala lokho engakwemukelayo lami, ukuthi uKristu wafa ngenxa yezono zethu, njengokwemibhalo;
4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;
lokuthi wangcwatshwa; lokuthi wavuswa kwabafileyo ngosuku lwesithathu, njengokwemibhalo;
5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;
lokuthi wabonakala kuKefasi, emva kwalokho kwabalitshumi lambili;
6 then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;
emva kwalokho wabonakala ngesikhathi sinye kubazalwane abedlula amakhulu amahlanu, ubunengi babo basekhona kuze kube lamuhla, kodwa labanye sebalala;
7 then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;
emva kwalokho wabonakala kuJakobe, emva kwalokho wabonakala kubaphostoli bonke;
8 and last of all, as unto one born out of due time, he appeared to me also.
lekucineni kwabo bonke wabonakala lakimi njengozelwe ngesikhathi esingaqondanga.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Ngoba mina ngingomncinyanyana kubaphostoli, engingafanele ukuthiwa ngumphostoli, ngoba ngazingela ibandla likaNkulunkulu.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Kodwa ngomusa kaNkulunkulu ngiyikho lokho engiyikho khona, lomusa wakhe okimi kawubanga yize; kodwa ngitshikatshike okwengezelelwe kulabo bonke, kanti kungesimi, kodwa ngumusa kaNkulunkulu olami.
11 Whether then [it be] I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
Ngakho loba kuyimi, loba kuyibo, ngokunjalo siyatshumayela langokunjalo lakholwa.
12 Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
Kodwa uba uKristu etshunyayelwa ukuthi uvusiwe kwabafileyo, batsho njani abanye phakathi kwenu ukuthi kakukho ukuvuka kwabafileyo?
13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:
Kodwa uba kungekho ukuvuka kwabafileyo, kavuswanga laye uKristu;
14 and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.
uba-ke uKristu engavuswanga, ngakho ukutshumayela kwethu kuyize, lokholo lwenu lalo luyize.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.
Lathi futhi sificwa singabafakazi bamanga bakaNkulunkulu, ngoba safakaza ngoNkulunkulu ukuthi wamvusa uKristu, angamvusanga, uba-ke abafileyo bengavuswa.
16 For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:
Ngoba uba abafileyo bengavuswa, kavuswanga laye uKristu;
17 and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
njalo uba uKristu engavuswanga, ukholo lwenu luyize; lisesezonweni zenu.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
Ngakho lalabo abalele bekuKristu sebabhubha.
19 If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most pitiable.
Uba singabathembela kuKristu kule impilo kuphela, singabalosizi kulabo bonke abantu.
20 But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.
Kodwa khathesi-ke uKristu uvusiwe kwabafileyo, waba yisithelo sokuqala sabaleleyo.
21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.
Ngoba lokhu ngomuntu ukufa kweza, langomuntu ukuvuka kwabafileyo kweza.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
Ngoba njengalokhu kuAdamu bonke bayafa, ngokunjalo futhi kuKristu bonke bazakwenziwa baphile.
23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ’s, at his coming.
Kodwa ngulowo lalowo ngesakhe isigaba; isithelo sokuqala uKristu, besekusiba ngabakaKristu ekufikeni kwakhe,
24 Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
besekusiba yikuphela, lapho esenikela umbuso kuNkulunkulu, uYise, lalapho esenze kwaphela konke ukubusa labo bonke ubukhosi lamandla.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.
Ngoba umele yena ukubusa, aze abeke zonke izitha ngaphansi kwenyawo zakhe.
26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.
Isitha sokucina esizachithwa yikufa.
27 For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.
Ngoba izinto zonke uzehlisele ngaphansi kwenyawo zakhe. Kodwa nxa esithi izinto zonke zehlisiwe, kusobala ukuthi ungaphandle kwazo yena ozehlisileyo izinto zonke ngaphansi kwakhe.
28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.
Nxa izinto zonke sezehlisiwe ngaphansi kwakhe, khona layo iNdodana ngokwayo izazehlisa ngaphansi kwalowo owehlisela zonke izinto ngaphansi kwayo, ukuze uNkulunkulu abe yikho konke kukho konke.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
Pho, bazakwenzani ababhabhathizelwa abafileyo uba abafileyo bengavuki isibili? Kungani babhabhathizelwa abafileyo na?
30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?
Kungani lathi sisengozini ihola ngehola?
31 I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Ngiyafa usuku ngosuku, ngiyaqinisa ngokuzincoma ngani engilakho kuKristu Jesu iNkosi yethu.
32 If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
Uba ngokwabantu ngalwa lezilo eEfesu, nzuzo bani kimi, uba abafileyo bengavuki? Asidle sinathe, ngoba kusasa siyafa.
33 Be not deceived: Evil company doth corrupt good manners.
Lingakhohliswa; ukwejwayelana lababi kuyonakalisa izimilo ezinhle.
34 Awake up righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak [this] to move you to shame.
Vusani ingqondo ngokulunga njalo lingoni; ngoba abanye balokungamazi uNkulunkulu; ngikhulumela ukuthi libe lenhloni.
35 But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?
Kodwa omunye uzakuthi: Abafileyo bavuswa njani? Njalo beza lomzimba onjani?
36 Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened, except it die:
Siphukuphuku, lokho okuhlanyelayo wena, kakwenziwa kuphile ngaphandle kokuthi kufe;
37 and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;
lalokho okuhlanyelayo, kawuhlanyeli umzimba ozakuba khona, kodwa uhlamvu oluze, mhlawumbe, olwebele kumbe olokunye nje;
38 but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
kodwa uNkulunkulu uyinika umzimba njengokuthanda kwakhe, lakuleyo laleyo yenhlanyelo owayo umzimba.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one [flesh] of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
Inyama yonke kayisinyamanye; kodwa enye yinyama yabantu, lenye yinyama yenyamazana, lenye eyenhlanzi, lenye eyezinyoni.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial is another.
Ikhona lemizimba yezulwini, lemizimba yemhlabeni; kodwa inkazimulo yezulu ingenye, leyemhlabeni ingenye.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.
Enye yinkazimulo yelanga, lenye yinkazimulo yenyanga, lenye yinkazimulo yezinkanyezi; ngoba inkanyezi yehlukile kwenye inkanyezi enkazimulweni.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
Kunjalo-ke ukuvuka kwabafileyo. Kuhlanyelwa ekuboleni, kuyavuswa kungekho ekuboleni;
43 it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
kuhlanyelwa ekudelweni, kuvuswe enkazimulweni; kuhlanyelwa ebuthakathakeni, kuvuswe emandleni;
44 it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual [body].
kuhlanyelwa umzimba wemvelo, kuvuswe umzimba womoya. Kukhona umzimba wemvelo, njalo kukhona umzimba womoya.
45 So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.
Langokunjalo kulotshiwe ukuthi: Umuntu wokuqala uAdamu waba ngumphefumulo ophilayo; uAdamu wokucina ngumoya ophilisayo.
46 Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.
Kodwa okokuqala kakusikho okomoya, kodwa okwemvelo, besekusiza okomoya.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
Umuntu wokuqala wavela emhlabeni, ungowomhlabathi; umuntu wesibili uyiNkosi evela ezulwini.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
Njengoba enjalo owomhlabathi, banjalo labo abomhlabathi; lanjengoba enjalo owezulwini, banjalo labo abezulwini;
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
futhi njengoba sibelesimo sowomhlabathi, lathi sizakuba lesimo sowezulwini.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Kodwa ngitsho lokhu, bazalwane, ukuthi inyama legazi kungelidle ilifa lombuso kaNkulunkulu; lokubola kakulidli ilifa lokungaboli.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
Khangelani, ngilitshela imfihlo: Kasiyikulala sonke, kodwa sizaphendulwa sonke,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
ngesikhatshana, ngokucwayiza kwelihlo, ekukhaleni kophondo lokucina; ngoba uphondo luzakhala, labafileyo bazavuswa bengelakubola, lathi sizaphendulwa.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Ngoba lokhu okubolayo kumele ukwembatha ukungaboli, lalokho okufayo kwembathe ukungafi.
54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Nxa-ke lokho okubolayo sekwembethe ukungaboli, lalokho okufayo sekwembethe ukungafi, kuzakwenzeka ngalesosikhathi ilizwi elilotshiweyo lokuthi: Ukufa kuginyiwe ekunqobeni.
Lungaphi, kufa, udonsi lwakho? Kungaphi, ngcwaba, ukunqoba kwakho? (Hadēs g86)
56 The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:
Lodonsi lokufa yisono; lamandla esono ngumlayo.
57 but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Kodwa kabongwe uNkulunkulu osinika ukunqoba ngeNkosi yethu uJesu Kristu.
58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord.
Ngakho, bazalwane bami abathandekayo, manini, linganyikinyeki, lengezelelwe emsebenzini weNkosi kokuphela, lazi ukuthi ukutshikatshika kwenu kakusilo ize eNkosini.
