Mark 1
1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus Christ.
神の子イエス・キリストの福音のはじめ。
2 It is said in the prophet Isaiah – ‘I am sending my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way.
預言者イザヤの書にこう書いてある。 「見よ。わたしは使いをあなたの前に遣わし、 あなたの道を整えさせよう。
3 The voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness: “Prepare the road for the Lord, make a straight path for him.”’
荒野で叫ぶ者の声がする。 『主の道を用意し、主の通られる道をまっすぐにせよ。』」 そのとおりに、
4 John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism on repentance, for the forgiveness of sins.
バプテスマのヨハネが荒野に現われて、罪が赦されるための悔い改めのバプテスマを説いた。
5 The whole of Judea, as well as all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, went out to him; and they were baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
そこでユダヤ全国の人々とエルサレムの全住民が彼のところへ行き、自分の罪を告白して、ヨルダン川で彼からバプテスマを受けていた。
6 John wore clothes made of camels’ hair, with a leather strap around his waist, and lived on locusts and wild honey;
ヨハネは、らくだの毛で織った物を着て、腰に皮の帯を締め、いなごと野蜜を食べていた。
7 and he proclaimed – “After me is coming someone more powerful than I am, and I am not fit even to stoop down and unfasten his sandals.
彼は宣べ伝えて言った。「私よりもさらに力のある方が、あとからおいでになります。私には、かがんでその方のくつのひもを解く値うちもありません。
8 I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
私はあなたがたに水でバプテスマを授けましたが、その方は、あなたがたに聖霊のバプテスマをお授けになります。」
9 Now about that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
そのころ、イエスはガリラヤのナザレから来られ、ヨルダン川で、ヨハネからバプテスマをお受けになった。
10 Just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Spirit coming down to him like a dove,
そして、水の中から上がられると、すぐそのとき、天が裂けて御霊が鳩のように自分の上に下られるのを、ご覧になった。
11 and from the heavens came a voice – “You are my dearly loved son; you bring me great joy.”
そして天から声がした。「あなたは、わたしの愛する子、わたしはあなたを喜ぶ。」
12 Immediately afterward the Spirit drove Jesus out into the wilderness;
そしてすぐ、御霊はイエスを荒野に追いやられた。
13 and he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and among the wild beasts, while the angels helped him.
イエスは四十日間荒野にいて、サタンの誘惑を受けられた。野の獣とともにおられたが、御使いたちがイエスに仕えていた。
14 After John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God –
ヨハネが捕えられて後、イエスはガリラヤに行き、神の福音を宣べて言われた。
15 “The time has come, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the good news.”
「時が満ち、神の国は近くなった。悔い改めて福音を信じなさい。」
16 As Jesus was going along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the sea, for they were fishermen.
ガリラヤ湖のほとりを通られると、シモンとシモンの兄弟アンデレが湖で網を打っているのをご覧になった。彼らは漁師であった。
17 “Come and follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will teach you to fish for people.”
イエスは彼らに言われた。「わたしについて来なさい。人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう。」
18 They left their nets at once, and followed him.
すると、すぐに、彼らは網を捨て置いて従った。
19 Going on a little further, he saw James, Zebedee’s son, and his brother John, who were in their boat mending the nets.
また少し行かれると、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネをご覧になった。彼らも舟の中で網を繕っていた。
20 Jesus called them at once, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the crew, and went after him.
すぐに、イエスがお呼びになった。すると彼らは父ゼベダイを雇い人たちといっしょに舟に残して、イエスについて行った。
21 They walked to Capernaum. On the next Sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.
それから、一行はカペナウムにはいった。そしてすぐに、イエスは安息日に会堂にはいって教えられた。
22 The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught them like one who had authority, and not like the teachers of the Law.
人々は、その教えに驚いた。それはイエスが、律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように教えられたからである。
23 Now there was in their synagogue at the time a man under the power of a foul spirit, who called out,
すると、すぐにまた、その会堂に汚れた霊につかれた人がいて、大声でわめいて言った。
24 “What do you want with us, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”
「ナザレの人イエス。いったい私たちに何をしようというのです。あなたは私たちを滅ぼしに来たのでしょう。私はあなたがどなたか知っています。神の聖者です。」
25 But Jesus rebuked the spirit, “Be silent! Come out from him.”
イエスは彼をしかって、「黙れ。この人から出て行け。」と言われた。
26 The foul spirit threw the man into a fit, and with a loud cry came out from him.
すると、その汚れた霊はその人をひきつけさせ、大声をあげて、その人から出て行った。
27 They were all so amazed that they kept asking each other, “What is this? What is this, a new kind of teaching? He gives his commands with authority even to the foul spirits, and they obey him!”
人々はみな驚いて、互いに論じ合って言った。「これはどうだ。権威のある、新しい教えではないか。汚れた霊をさえ戒められる。すると従うのだ。」
28 His fame spread at once in all directions, through the whole region of Galilee.
こうして、イエスの評判は、すぐに、ガリラヤ全地の至る所に広まった。
29 As soon as they had left the synagogue, they went to the house of Simon and Andrew, along with James and John.
イエスは会堂を出るとすぐに、ヤコブとヨハネを連れて、シモンとアンデレの家にはいられた。
30 Now Simon’s mother-in-law was lying ill with a fever, and they at once told Jesus about her.
ところが、シモンのしゅうとめが熱病で床に着いていたので、人々はさっそく彼女のことをイエスに知らせた。
31 Jesus went up to her and, grasping her hand, raised her up; the fever left her, and she began to take care of them.
イエスは、彼女に近寄り、その手を取って起こされた。すると熱がひき、彼女は彼らをもてなした。
32 In the evening, after sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who were ill or possessed by demons;
夕方になった。日が沈むと、人々は病人や悪霊につかれた者をみな、イエスのもとに連れて来た。
33 and the whole city was gathered around the door.
こうして町中の者が戸口に集まって来た。
34 Jesus cured many who were ill with various diseases, and drove out many demons, and would not permit them to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.
イエスは、さまざまの病気にかかっている多くの人をお直しになり、また多くの悪霊を追い出された。そして悪霊どもがものを言うのをお許しにならなかった。彼らがイエスをよく知っていたからである。
35 In the morning, long before daylight, Jesus got up and went out to a lonely spot, where he began to pray.
さて、イエスは、朝早くまだ暗いうちに起きて、寂しい所へ出て行き、そこで祈っておられた。
36 But Simon and his companions went out searching for him;
シモンとその仲間は、イエスを追って来て、
37 and, when they found him, they exclaimed, “Everyone is looking for you!”
彼を見つけ、「みんながあなたを捜しております。」と言った。
38 But Jesus said to them, “Let us go somewhere else, into the country towns nearby so that I can make my proclamation in them also; for that was why I came.”
イエスは彼らに言われた。「さあ、近くの別の村里へ行こう。そこにも福音を知らせよう。わたしは、そのために出て来たのだから。」
39 And he went about making his proclamation in their synagogues all through Galilee, and driving out the demons.
こうしてイエスは、ガリラヤ全地にわたり、その会堂に行って、福音を告げ知らせ、悪霊を追い出された。
40 One day a leper came to Jesus and, falling on his knees, begged him for help. “If only you are willing,” he said, “you are able to make me clean.”
さて、ひとりのらい病人が、イエスのみもとにお願いに来て、ひざまずいて言った。「お心一つで、私はきよくしていただけます。」
41 Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying as he did so, “I am willing; become clean.”
イエスは深くあわれみ、手を伸ばして、彼にさわって言われた。「わたしの心だ。きよくなれ。」
42 Instantly the leprosy left the man, and he became clean;
すると、すぐに、そのらい病が消えて、その人はきよくなった。
43 and then Jesus, after sternly warning him, immediately sent him away,
そこでイエスは、彼をきびしく戒めて、すぐに彼を立ち去らせた。
44 and said to him, “Be careful not to say anything to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and make the offerings for your cleansing directed by Moses, as evidence of your cure.”
そのとき彼にこう言われた。「気をつけて、だれにも何も言わないようにしなさい。ただ行って、自分を祭司に見せなさい。そして、人々へのあかしのために、モーセが命じた物をもって、あなたのきよめの供え物をしなさい。」
45 The man, however, went away, and began to speak about it publicly, and to spread the story so widely, that Jesus could no longer go openly into a town, but stayed outside in lonely places; and people came to him from every direction.
ところが、彼は出て行って、この出来事をふれ回り、言い広め始めた。そのためイエスは表立って町の中にはいることができず、町はずれの寂しい所におられた。しかし、人々は、あらゆる所からイエスのもとにやって来た。
