Luke 18
1 Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and never despair.
Er sagte ihnen aber auch ein Gleichnis, daß man allzeit beten, und nicht mutlos werden müsse,
2 “There was,” he said, “in a certain town a judge, who had no fear of God nor regard for people.
Und sprach: Es war ein Richter in einer Stadt, der fürchtete sich nicht vor Gott, und scheute sich vor keinem Menschen.
3 In the same town there was a widow who went to him again and again, and said ‘Grant me justice against my opponent.’
Es war aber eine Witwe in jener Stadt, die kam zu ihm, und sprach: Schaffe mir Recht gegen meinen Widersacher.
4 For a time the judge refused, but afterward he said to himself ‘Although I am without fear of God or regard for people,
Und eine Zeitlang wollte er nicht. Darnach sprach er bei sich selbst: Wenn ich auch Gott nicht fürchte, noch einen Menschen scheue,
5 yet, as this widow is so troublesome, I will grant her justice, to stop her from plaguing me with her endless visits.’”
So will ich doch dieser Witwe Recht verschaffen, weil sie mich plagt, damit sie nicht an einem fort komme, und mir das Leben sauer mache.
6 Then the Master added, “Listen to what this iniquitous judge says!
Der Herr aber sprach: Höret, was der ungerechte Richter sagt!
7 And God – won’t he see that his own people, who cry to him night and day, have justice done them – though he holds his hand?
Sollte aber Gott nicht Recht verschaffen seinen Auserwählten, die Tag und Nacht zu ihm schreien, auch wenn er langsam dreinfährt ihretwegen?
8 He will, I tell you, give them justice soon enough! Yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Ich sage euch: Er wird ihnen Recht verschaffen in kurzem. Doch wenn der Menschensohn kommt, wird er wohl den Glauben finden auf Erden?
9 Another time, speaking to people who were satisfied that they were religious, and who regarded everyone else with scorn, Jesus told this parable –
Er sprach aber auch zu etlichen, die sich selbst vermaßen, daß sie Gerechte seien, und die übrigen verachteten, dieses Gleichnis:
10 “Two men went up into the Temple Courts to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax-gatherer.
Zwei Menschen gingen hinauf in den Tempel, zu beten, der eine war ein Pharisäer, und der andere ein Zöllner.
11 The Pharisee stood forward and began praying to himself in this way – ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men – thieves, rogues, adulterers – or even like this tax-gatherer.
Der Pharisäer stellte sich hin, und betete bei sich selbst also: "Gott, ich danke dir, daß ich nicht bin, wie die übrigen Menschen, Räuber, Ungerechte, Ehebrecher, oder auch wie dieser Zöllner.
12 I fast twice a week, and give a tenth of everything I get to God.’
Ich faste zweimal in der Woche, und gebe den Zehnten von allem, was ich erwerbe."
13 Meanwhile the tax-gatherer stood at a distance, not venturing even to raise his eyes to heaven, but he kept striking his breast and saying ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
Und der Zöllner stund von ferne, wollte auch seine Augen nicht aufheben gen Himmel, sondern schlug an seine Brust, und sprach: "Gott sei mir, dem Sünder, gnädig!"
14 This man, I tell you, went home pardoned, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, while everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Ich sage euch, dieser stieg hinab in sein Haus, gerechtfertigt, eher als jener, denn jeder, der sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt, und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden.
15 Some of the people were bringing even their babies to Jesus, for him to touch them; but, when the disciples saw it, they began to find fault with those who had brought them.
Sie brachten aber auch die kleinen Kindlein zu ihm, damit er sie anrühre; die Jünger aber, als sie es sahen, fuhren sie an.
16 Jesus, however, called the little children to him. “Let the little children come to me,” he said, “and do not hinder them, for it is to the childlike that the kingdom of God belongs.
Jesus aber rief sie zu sich, und sprach: Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen, und wehret ihnen nicht, denn solcher ist die Gottesherrschaft.
17 I tell you, unless a man receives the kingdom of God like a child, he will not enter it at all.”
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: wer die Gottesherrschaft nicht aufnimmt, wie ein Kindlein, der wird nicht in dieselbe hineinkommen.
18 And one of the leaders asked Jesus this question – “Good teacher, what must I do if I am to gain eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
Und es frug ihn ein Vorsteher, und sprach: Guter Lehrer, was muß ich tun, damit ich das künftige Leben ererbe? (aiōnios g166)
19 “Why do you call me good?” answered Jesus. “No one is good but God.
Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Was nennest du mich gut? Niemand ist gut, außer einer, Gott.
20 You know the commandments – Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not say what is false about others, Honor your father and your mother.”
Du weißt die Gebote: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen! Du sollst nicht töten! Du sollst nicht stehlen! Du sollst nicht falsches Zeugnis reden! Ehre deinen Vater und Mutter!"
21 “I have observed all these,” he replied, “from childhood.”
Er aber sprach: Das alles habe ich gehalten von meiner Jugend an.
22 Hearing this, Jesus said to him, “There is one thing still lacking in you; sell everything that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven; then come and follow me.”
Da Jesus das hörte, sagte er ihm: Noch eins fehlt dir. Verkaufe alles, was du hast, und gib es den Armen, und du wirst einen Schatz in den Himmeln (d. h. bei Gott) haben, und komme, folge mir nach!
23 But the man became greatly distressed on hearing this, for he was extremely rich.
Als er das hörte, ward er sehr betrübt, denn er war sehr reich.
24 Seeing this, Jesus said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!
Da aber Jesus sah, daß er traurig geworden war, sprach er: Wie schwerlich werden die Begüterten in die Gottesherrschaft eingehen.
25 It is easier, indeed, for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!”
Denn es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr eingeht, als daß ein Reicher in die Gottesherrschaft eingehe.
26 “Then who can be saved?” asked those who heard this.
Es sprachen aber die, so das hörten: Wer kann dann errettet werden?
27 But Jesus said, “What is impossible with people is possible with God.”
Er aber sprach: Was bei Menschen unmöglich ist, das ist möglich bei Gott.
28 “But we,” said Peter, “we left what belonged to us and followed you.”
Petrus aber sprach: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen, und sind dir nachgefolgt.
29 “I tell you,” he answered, “that there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es ist niemand, der verläßt Haus, oder Eltern, oder Brüder, oder Weib, oder Kinder, um der Gottesherrschaft willen,
31 Gathering the Twelve around him, Jesus said to them, “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem; and there everything that is written in the prophets will be done to the Son of Man.
Er nahm aber die Zwölfe zu sich, und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wir gehen hinauf gen Jerusalem, und es wird vollendet werden alles, was geschrieben steht von den Propheten für den Menschensohn.
32 For he will be given up to the Gentiles, mocked, insulted and spat on;
Denn er wird den Heiden überliefert, und verspottet, und geschmäht, und verspeit werden;
33 they will scourge him, and then put him to death; and on the third day he will rise again.”
Und sie werden ihn geißeln, und töten, und am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen,
34 The apostles did not comprehend any of this. His meaning was unintelligible to them and they did not understand what he was saying.
Und sie verstanden nichts davon; und es war diese Rede vor ihnen verborgen; und sie wußten nicht, was gesagt war.
35 As Jesus was getting near Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside, begging.
Es geschah aber, als er nahe gen Jericho kam, da saß ein Blinder am Wege und bettelte.
36 Hearing a crowd going by, the man asked what was the matter;
Als er aber das Volk vorüberziehen hörte, erkundigte er sich, was das wäre.
37 and, when people told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing,
Und sie verkündigten ihm: Jesus von Nazareth geht vorüber.
38 he shouted out, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!”
Und er rief, und sprach: Jesu, Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!
39 Those who were in front kept telling him to be quiet, but he continued to call out the louder, “Son of David, take pity on me!”
Und die Vorübergehenden fuhren ihn an, daß er schweigen solle; er aber schrie umsomehr: Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!
40 Then Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. And, when he had come close up to him, Jesus asked him,
Jesus aber stand stille, und befahl ihn zu ihm zu bringen. Und als er nahekam, frug er ihn,
41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Master,” he said, “I want to recover my sight.”
Und sprach: Was willst du, daß ich dir tun soll? Er aber sprach: Herr, daß ich sehend werde.
42 And Jesus said, “Recover your sight, your faith has delivered you.”
Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: Sei sehend; dein Glaube hat dir geholfen.
43 Instantly he recovered his sight, and began to follow Jesus, praising God. And all the people, on seeing it, gave glory to God.
Und plötzlich wurde er sehend, und folgte ihm nach, indem er Gott pries. Und das ganze Volk sah es und lobten Gott.
