John 10
1 In truth I tell you, whoever does not go into the sheepfold through the door, but climbs up at some other place, that person is a thief and a robber;
Sannerliga, sannerliga säger jag eder: Hvilken icke går in genom dörrena i fårahuset, utan stiger annorstäds in, han är en tjuf, och en röfvare.
2 but the person who goes in through the door is shepherd to the sheep.
Men hvilken som går in genom dörrena, han är herden till fåren.
3 For him the watchman opens the door; and the sheep listen to his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
För honom låter dörravården upp, och fåren höra hans röst; och sin egen får kallar han vid namn, och leder dem ut.
4 When he has brought them all out, he walks in front of them, and his sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
Och när han hafver släppt sin egen får ut, går han för dem, och fåren följa honom efter; ty de känna hans röst.
5 They will not follow a stranger, but will run away from him; because they do not know a stranger’s voice.”
Men den främmande följa de icke, utan fly ifrå honom; ty de känna icke deras röst, som främmande äro.
6 This was the allegory that Jesus told them, but they did not understand of what he was speaking.
Denna liknelsen sade Jesus till dem; men de förstodo icke hvad det var, som han sade dem.
7 So he continued, “In truth I tell you, I am the door for the sheep.
Åter sade Jesus till dem: Sannerliga, sannerliga säger jag eder: Jag är dörren för fåren.
8 All who came before me were thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not listen to them.
Alle de som för mig komne äro, de äro tjufvar och röfvare; men fåren hörde dem intet.
9 I am the door; he who goes in through me will be safe, and he will go in and out and find pasture.
Jag är dörren; hvilken som ingår igenom mig, han skall blifva salig; och skall ingå och utgå, och finna bet.
10 The thief comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it in greater fullness.
Tjufven kommer icke, utan till att stjäla, slagta och förgöra; jag är kommen, på det de skola hafva lif, och öfvernog hafva.
11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep.
Jag är den gode herden; den gode herden låter sitt lif för fåren.
12 The hired man who is not a shepherd, and who does not own the sheep, when he sees a wolf coming, leaves them and runs away; then the wolf seizes them, and scatters the flock.
Men den som lejder är, och icke är herden, hvilkom fåren icke tillhöra, ser ulfven komma, och öfvergifver fåren, och flyr; och ulfven bortrycker och förskingrar fåren.
13 He does this because he is only a hired man and does not care about the sheep.
Men den lejde flyr; ty han är lejd, och värdar intet om fåren.
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know my sheep, and my sheep know me –
Jag är den gode herden, och känner min får, och min känna mig;
15 Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Såsom Fadren känner mig; och jag känner Fadren; och jag låter mitt lif för fåren.
16 I have other sheep besides, which do not belong to this fold; I must lead them also, and they will listen to my voice; and they will become one flock under one shepherd.
Jag hafver ock annor får, som icke äro af detta fårahuset; dem måste jag ock draga härtill, och de skola höra min röst; och det skall varda ett fårahus och en herde.
17 This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life – to receive it again.
Fördenskull älskar Fadren mig, att jag låter mitt lif, på det jag skall åter tagat igen.
18 No one took it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to receive it again. This is the command which I received from my Father.”
Ingen tager det af mig; men jag låter det af mig sjelf; jag hafver magt att låta det, och jag hafver magt taga det igen. Detta budet fick jag af minom Fader.
19 In consequence of these words a difference of opinion again arose among the people.
Då vardt åter en tvedrägt ibland Judarna, för detta talets skull.
20 Many of them said, “He is possessed by a demon and is mad; why do you listen to him?”
Månge af dem sade: Han hafver djefvulen, och är ursinnig; hvi hören I honom?
21 Others said, “This is not the teaching of one who is possessed by a demon. Can a demon give sight to the blind?”
Somlige sade: Sådana ord äro icke dens mans, som djefvulen hafver; icke kan djefvulen öppna de blindas ögon.
22 Soon after this the Festival of the Rededication was held at Jerusalem.
Så vardt då i Jerusalem kyrkomessa; och det var vinter.
23 It was winter; and Jesus was walking in the Temple Courts, in the Colonnade of Solomon,
Och Jesus gick i templena, i Salomos förhus.
24 when the people gathered around him, and said, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us so frankly.”
Då kringhvärfde Judarna honom, och sade till honom: Huru länge förhalar du med oss? Säg oss fri, om du äst Christus.
25 “I have told you so,” replied Jesus, “and you do not believe me. The work that I am doing in my Father’s name bears testimony to me.
Jesus svarade dem: Jag hafver sagt eder det, och I tron det icke; gerningarna, som jag gör i mins Faders Namn, de bära vittne om mig.
26 But you do not believe me, because you are not of my flock.
Men I tron det icke; ty I ären icke af min får, såsom jag sade eder.
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me;
Min får höra mina röst, och jag känner dem, och de följa mig;
29 What my Father has entrusted to me is more than all else; and no one can snatch anything out of the Father’s hands.
Min Fader, som mig dem gifvit hafver, är store än alle; och ingen kan rycka dem utaf mins Faders hand.
30 The Father and I are one.”
Jag och Fadren ärom ett.
31 Some of the people again brought stones to throw at him;
Då togo åter Judarna stenar, till att stena honom.
32 and seeing this, Jesus said, “I have done before your eyes many good actions, inspired by the Father; for which of them would you stone me?”
Jesus svarade dem: Jag hafver många goda gerningar bevist eder af minom Fader; för hvilka af dem stenen I mig?
33 “It is not for any good action that we would stone you,” they answered, “but for blasphemy; and because you, who are only a man, make yourself out to be God.”
Judarna svarade honom, och sade: För god gernings skull stene vi dig icke, utan för hädelsens skull; och att du, som äst en menniska, gör dig sjelf till Gud.
34 “Are there not,” replied Jesus, “these words in your Law – ‘I said, You are gods’?
Jesus svarade dem: Är icke skrifvet i edor lag: Jag sade, I ären gudar?
35 If those to whom God’s word were addressed were said to be ‘gods’ – and scripture cannot be set aside –
Hafver han nu kallat dem gudar, till hvilka Guds ord skedde; och Skriften kan icke varda omintet;
36 do you say of one whom the Father has consecrated and sent as his messenger to the world ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said ‘I am God’s Son’?
Och I sägen dock till honom, som Fadren helgat hafver, och sändt i verldena: Du häder Gud; derföre, att jag säger: Jag är Guds Son?
37 If I am not doing the work that my Father is doing, do not believe me;
Gör jag icke mins Faders gerningar, så tror mig intet.
38 if I am doing it, even though you do not believe me, believe what that work shows; so that you may understand, and understand more and more clearly, that the Father is in union with me, and I with the Father.”
Men gör jag dem, tror då gerningomen, om I icke viljen tro mig; på det I skolen förstå, och tro, att Fadren är i mig, och jag i honom.
39 The authorities again sought to arrest him; but he escaped their hands.
Åter foro de efter att gripa honom; och han gick utu deras händer.
40 Then Jesus again crossed the Jordan to the place where John used to baptize at first, and stayed there some time, during which many people came to see him.
Och drog åter bort på hinsidon Jordan, till det rummet der Johannes hade först döpt; och blef der.
41 “John gave no sign of his mission,” they said. “But everything that he said about this man was true.”
Och månge kommo till honom, och sade: Johannes gjorde intet tecken; men allt det Johannes om denna sagt hafver, är sant.
42 And many learned to believe in Jesus there.
Och trodde månge der på honom,
