Revelation 12
1 Then a great portent was seen in the heavens – a woman whose robe was the sun, and who had the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
Et un grand prodige apparut dans le ciel: Une femme enveloppée du soleil, et la lune sous ses pieds, et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles.
2 She was pregnant; and she is crying out in the pain and agony of childbirth.
Et se trouvant enceinte, elle pousse des cris étant au mal d'enfant et dans les souffrances de l'enfantement.
3 Another portent also was seen in the heavens There was a great red Dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
Et un autre prodige apparut dans le ciel, et voici, un grand dragon rouge, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes, et sur ses têtes sept diadèmes.
4 His tail draws after it a third of the stars in the heavens, and it hurled them down on the earth. The Dragon is standing in front of the woman who is about to give birth to the child, so that he may devour it as soon as it is born.
Et sa queue entraîne le tiers des étoiles du ciel, et elle les a précipitées sur la terre; et le dragon se tint debout devant la femme qui allait enfanter, afin de dévorer son enfant quand elle aurait enfanté.
5 The woman gave birth to a son, a male child, who is destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod; and her child was at once caught up to God on his throne.
Et elle enfanta un fils mâle, qui doit paître toutes les nations avec une verge de fer; et son enfant fut enlevé auprès de Dieu et auprès de Son trône;
6 But the woman fled into the wilderness, where there is a place prepared for her by God, to be tended there for twelve hundred and sixty days.
et la femme s'enfuit au désert, où elle possède une place que Dieu a préparée, afin qu'on l'y nourrisse pendant mille deux cent soixante jours.
7 Then a battle took place in the heavens. Michael and his angels fought with the Dragon. But though the Dragon, with his angels, fought,
Et il y eut guerre dans le ciel: Michel et ses anges pour combattre le dragon, et le dragon combattit ainsi que ses anges,
8 he did not prevail; and there was no place left for them any longer in the heavens.
et il ne fut pas le plus fort et l'on ne trouva même plus leur place dans le ciel.
9 Then the great Dragon, the primeval snake, known as the “devil” and “Satan,” who deceives all the world, was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
Et il fut précipité, le grand dragon, l'ancien serpent, celui qui est appelé le diable et Satan, celui qui séduit l'univers entier, il fut précipité sur la terre, et ses anges furent précipités avec lui.
10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven which said – “Now has begun the day of the salvation, and Power, and Dominion of our God, and the Rule of his Christ; for the Accuser of our people has been hurled down, he who has been accusing them before our God day and night.
Et j'entendis dans le ciel une voix forte qui disait: « Maintenant il est arrivé, le salut, Et la puissance et le royaume de notre Dieu, Et l'autorité de Son Christ! Car il a été précipité, l'accusateur de nos frères, Celui qui les accusait devant notre Dieu jour et nuit.
11 Their victory was due to the blood of the Lamb, and to the message to which they bore their testimony. In their love of life they shrank not from death.
Et c'est eux qui l'ont vaincu, A cause du sang de l'agneau, Et de la parole de leur témoignage; Et ils n'ont pas préféré leur vie à la mort,
12 Therefore, be glad, heaven, and all who live in heaven! Alas for the earth and for the sea, for the devil has gone down to you in great fury, knowing that he has but little time.”
C'est pourquoi réjouissez-vous, ô cieux, Et vous qui les habitez! Malheur à la terre et à la mer! Car le diable est descendu vers vous, Plein d'une grande fureur, Sachant qu'il a peu de temps. »
13 When the Dragon saw that he was hurled down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
Et quand le dragon vit qu'il avait été précipité sur la terre, il se mit à la poursuite de la femme qui avait enfanté l'enfant mâle.
14 But to the woman were given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she might fly to her place in the wilderness, where she is being tended for one year, and for two years, and for half a year in safety from the snake.
Et les deux ailes du grand aigle furent données à la femme, afin qu'elle s'envolât vers le désert dans la place qui lui est destinée, où elle doit être nourrie pendant un temps et des temps et la moitié d'un temps, loin de la présence du serpent.
15 Then the snake poured water from its mouth after the woman, like a river, so that it might sweep her away.
Et le serpent lança de sa bouche derrière la femme une eau comme un fleuve, afin de l'entraîner dans le fleuve.
16 But Earth came to her help, and opened her mouth and drank up the river which the Dragon had poured out of its mouth.
Et la terre vint au secours de la femme, et la terre ouvrit sa bouche et engloutit l'eau que le dragon avait lancée de sa bouche.
17 The Dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to fight with the rest of her offspring – those who lay to heart the commands of God and bear their testimony to Jesus;
Et le dragon fut irrité contre la femme, et il s'en alla faire la guerre aux restes de sa progéniture, à ceux qui observent les commandements de Dieu et qui ont le témoignage de Jésus;
