Psalms 60

1 For the leader. On shushan eduth. A michtam of David (for teaching), when he fought with Aram-naharaim and Aram-zobah, and Joab returned and defeated twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. O God, you have spurned and broken us, routing us in your wrath – restore us!

१प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये दाऊद का मिक्ताम शूशनेदूत राग में। शिक्षादायक। जब वह अरम्नहरैम और अरमसोबा से लड़ता था। और योआब ने लौटकर नमक की तराई में एदोमियों में से बारह हजार पुरुष मार लिये हे परमेश्वर, तूने हमको त्याग दिया, और हमको तोड़ डाला है; तू क्रोधित हुआ; फिर हमको ज्यों का त्यों कर दे।

2 You have shaken the land and cleft it; heal its tottering breaches.

२तूने भूमि को कँपाया और फाड़ डाला है; उसके दरारों को भर दे, क्योंकि वह डगमगा रही है।

3 You have made your people drink hardship, and given us wine of reeling.

३तूने अपनी प्रजा को कठिन समय दिखाया; तूने हमें लड़खड़ा देनेवाला दाखमधु पिलाया है।

4 You have given those who fear you a banner, a rallying-place from the bow, (Selah)

४तूने अपने डरवैयों को झण्डा दिया है, कि वह सच्चाई के कारण फहराया जाए। (सेला)

5 for the rescue of your beloved. Save by your right hand and answer us.

५तू अपने दाहिने हाथ से बचा, और हमारी सुन ले कि तेरे प्रिय छुड़ाए जाएँ।

6 God did solemnly swear: ‘As victor will I divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

६परमेश्वर पवित्रता के साथ बोला है, “मैं प्रफुल्लित होऊँगा; मैं शेकेम को बाँट लूँगा, और सुक्कोत की तराई को नपवाऊँगा।

7 Mine is Gilead, mine is Manasseh, Ephraim is the defence of my head, Judah my sceptre of rule,

७गिलाद मेरा है; मनश्शे भी मेरा है; और एप्रैम मेरे सिर का टोप, यहूदा मेरा राजदण्ड है।

8 Moab the pot that I wash in, Edom – I cast my shoe over it, I shout o’er Philistia in triumph.’

८मोआब मेरे धोने का पात्र है; मैं एदोम पर अपना जूता फेंकूँगा; हे पलिश्तीन, मेरे ही कारण जयजयकार कर।”

9 O to be brought to the fortified city! O to be led into Edom!

९मुझे गढ़वाले नगर में कौन पहुँचाएगा? एदोम तक मेरी अगुआई किसने की है?

10 Have you not spurned us, O God? You do not march forth with our armies.

१०हे परमेश्वर, क्या तूने हमको त्याग नहीं दिया? हे परमेश्वर, तू हमारी सेना के साथ नहीं जाता।

11 Grant us help from the foe, for human help is worthless.

११शत्रु के विरुद्ध हमारी सहायता कर, क्योंकि मनुष्य की सहायता व्यर्थ है।

12 With God we shall yet do bravely: he himself will tread down our foes.

१२परमेश्वर की सहायता से हम वीरता दिखाएँगे, क्योंकि हमारे शत्रुओं को वही रौंदेगा।
