< Psalms 55 >

1 For the leader. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. Listen, God, to my prayer. Don’t hide yourself from my pleading.
Fún adarí orin. Pẹ̀lú ohun èlò orin olókùn. Maskili ti Dafidi. Fi etí sí àdúrà mi, Ọlọ́run, má ṣe fi ojú pa ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi rẹ́:
2 Hear me, and answer; for bitter is my lament.
gbọ́ mi kí o sì dá mi lóhùn. Èrò mi ń dà mí láàmú, èmi sì ń pariwo.
3 I am wild with the noise of the foe, with the clamour of the ungodly; for they hurl disaster upon me, and attack me with fury.
Sí ohùn àwọn ọ̀tá ni, nítorí igbe àwọn ènìyàn búburú; nítorí wọ́n mú ìjìyà wá sórí mi, wọ́n sì kẹ́gàn mi nínú ìbínú wọn.
4 My heart shudders within me, terrors of deaths press on me,
Ọkàn mi wà nínú ìrora pẹ̀lú; ẹ̀rù ikú kọjú ìjà sí mi.
5 fear and trembling attack me, and horror wraps me round.
Ìbẹ̀rù àti ìwárìrì wa sí ara mi; ìbẹ̀rù ti bò mí mọ́lẹ̀.
6 O for the wings of a dove: I would fly away and rest.
Èmi sọ pé, “Èmi ìbá ní ìyẹ́ bí àdàbà! Èmi ìbá fò lọ kí n sì sinmi.
7 I would wander far away, find refuge in the wilderness. (Selah)
Èmi ìbá sálọ, jìnnà réré, kí ń sì dúró sí aginjù;
8 I would find myself a shelter from raging wind and tempest.
èmi ìbá yára lọ́ si ibùgbé mi ní ibi ààbò, jìnnà kúrò nínú ìjì àti ẹ̀fúùfù líle.”
9 Confuse them, Lord, upset their plans; for I see violence and strife in the city.
Da àwọn ẹni búburú láàmú, Olúwa, da ahọ́n wọn rú, nítorí èmi rí ìwà agbára àti ìjà ní ìlú náà.
10 By day and by night they make their rounds on the city walls, while within is crime and trouble,
Ọ̀sán àti òru ni wọ́n fi ń rìn gbogbo odi kiri; ìwà ìkà àti èébú wà láàrín rẹ̀.
11 within is ruin. Her market-place is never free of deceit and tyranny.
Ìwà búburú ń bẹ ní àárín rẹ̀; ẹ̀tàn àti èké kò kúrò ní ìgboro rẹ̀.
12 The taunts were not those of a foe that I could have borne; the disdain was not that of an enemy I could have shunned them:
Tí ọ̀tá bá tàbùkù mi, èmi yóò fi ara mọ́ ọn; tí ọ̀tá bá gbé ara rẹ̀ ga sí mi, èmi ìbá sá pamọ́ fún un.
13 but it was you, my equal, my dear and familiar friend.
Ṣùgbọ́n tí ó bá ṣe ìwọ, ọkùnrin bí ẹgbẹ́ mi, ẹlẹgbẹ́ mi, àti ọ̀rẹ́ tí ó súnmọ́ mi,
14 We used to be so close, together we walked in God’s house with the crowd.
pẹ̀lú ẹni tí èmi ti jẹ ìgbádùn adùn ìdàpọ̀, bí a ṣe ń rìn pẹ̀lú àwùjọ ní ilé Ọlọ́run.
15 May death suddenly take them, may they go down to Sheol alive, for evil lives in their homes and their hearts. (Sheol h7585)
Kí ikú kí ó dé bá wọn, kí wọn ó lọ láààyè sí isà òkú, jẹ́ kí wọn ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí ibojì pẹ̀lú ìpayà, nítorí tí ìwà búburú ń bẹ ní ibùjókòó wọn, àti nínú wọn. (Sheol h7585)
16 But I will call on God, the Lord will save me.
Ṣùgbọ́n èmi pe Ọlọ́run; Olúwa yóò sì gbà mí.
17 Evening and morning and noon I lament and moan. He will hear my voice;
Ní alẹ́, ní òwúrọ̀ àti ní ọ̀sán èmi sọkún jáde nínú ìpọ́njú, o sì gbọ́ ohùn mi.
18 though I am attacked by many he will rescue me, unharmed from the war.
Ó rà mí padà láìléwu kúrò nínú ogun tí ó dìde sí mi, nítorí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ni ó dìde sí mi.
19 God, who sits on his ancient throne will hear and will humble them, for they never change, they never fear God. (Selah)
Ọlọ́run yóò gbọ́, yóò sì pọ́n wọn lójú àní, ẹni tí ó ti jókòó láti ìgbàanì (Sela) nítorí tí wọn kò ní àyípadà, tí wọn kò sì bẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run.
20 My friend turned against me, betrayed his word.
Ọ̀rẹ́ mi yìí ti dalẹ̀ èmi ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀; ó ti ba májẹ̀mú rẹ̀ jẹ́.
21 His mouth was smoother than butter, but war filled his heart. His words were softer than oil, but sharper than swords.
Ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu rẹ̀ kúnná ju òrí-àmọ́, ṣùgbọ́n ogun wà ni àyà rẹ̀; ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ fẹ́lẹ́ ju òróró lọ, ṣùgbọ́n idà fífàyọ ní wọn.
22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.
Gbé ẹrù rẹ lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa yóò sì mú ọ dúró; òun kò ní jẹ́ kí olódodo ṣubú.
23 But you, God, will hurl them down to the deepest pit. Bloody and treacherous people will not live out half their days; but I will trust you.
Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ, Ọlọ́run, ni yóò mu àwọn ọ̀tá mi wá sí ihò ìparun; àwọn ẹni tí òǹgbẹ ẹ̀jẹ̀ ń gbẹ àti ẹni ẹ̀tàn, kì yóò gbé ààbọ̀ ọjọ́ wọn. Ṣùgbọ́n fún èmi, èmi gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọ.
