< Psalms 129 >

1 A song of ascents. ‘Sore have they vexed me from youth’ thus let Israel say
Orin fún ìgòkè. “Ìgbà púpọ̀ ni wọ́n ti pọ́n mi lójú láti ìgbà èwe mi wá,” jẹ́ kí Israẹli kí ó wí nísinsin yìí;
2 ‘Sore have they vexed me from youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
“Ìgbà púpọ̀ ni wọ́n ti pọ́n mi lójú láti ìgbà èwe mi wá; síbẹ̀ wọn kò tí ì borí mi.
3 ‘The ploughers ploughed on my back, they made their furrows long.
Àwọn awalẹ̀ walẹ̀ sí ẹ̀yìn mi: wọ́n sì la aporo wọn gígùn.
4 But the Lord, who is righteous, has cut the cords of the wicked.’
Olódodo ni Olúwa: ó ti ké okùn àwọn ènìyàn búburú kúrò.”
5 Let all who are haters of Zion be put to shame and defeated.
Kí gbogbo àwọn tí ó kórìíra Sioni kí ó dààmú, kí wọn kí ó sì yí ẹ̀yìn padà.
6 May they be as the grass on the house-top, which withers before it shoots up;
Kí wọn kí ó dàbí koríko orí ilẹ̀ tí ó gbẹ dànù kí ó tó dàgbàsókè,
7 which fills not the arms of the reaper, nor the lap of the binder of sheaves
èyí tí olóko pípa kó kún ọwọ́ rẹ̀: bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹni tí ń di ìtí, kó kún apá rẹ̀.
8 whereof no one says as they pass, ‘The blessing of God be upon you.’ In the name of the Lord we bless you.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn tí ń kọjá lọ kò wí pé, ìbùkún Olúwa kí ó pẹ̀lú yín: àwa ń súre fún yin ní orúkọ Olúwa.
