Psalms 124

1 A song of ascents. Of David. ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us’ let Israel say

১দায়ূদের আরোহণের একটি গীত। “যদি সদাপ্রভুু আমাদের পক্ষে না থাকতেন,” ইস্রায়েলকে তা বলতে দাও,

2 ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us when enemies rose against us,

২যদি সদাপ্রভুু আমাদের পক্ষে না থাকতেন, যখন লোকেরা আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে উঠেছিল,

3 then alive they’d have swallowed us up, when their anger was kindled against us.

৩তখন তারা আমাদেরকে জীবন্ত গিলে নিত, তখন তারা আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে প্রচন্ড রাগে ফেটে পড়তো।

4 Then the waters would’ve swept us away, and the torrent passed over us clean:

৪জল আমাদেরকে ভাসিয়ে নিয়ে যেত, তীব্র জলস্রোত আমাদের ওপর দিয়ে বয়ে যায়।

5 then most sure would’ve passed over us clean the wild seething waters.’

৫তখন গর্জন করা জল আমাদের ডুবিয়ে দিত।

6 Blest be the Lord who has given us not to be torn by their teeth.

৬ধন্য সদাপ্রভুু, তিনি আমাদেরকে তাদের দাঁত দিয়ে ছিঁড়তে দিতেন না।

7 We are like a bird just escaped from the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken, and we are escaped.

৭আমাদের প্রাণ ব্যাধের ফাঁদ থেকে পাখির মত রক্ষা পেয়েছে; ফাঁদ ছিঁড়েছে আর আমরা রক্ষা পেয়েছি।

8 Our help is the name of the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.

৮আমাদের সাহায্য সদাপ্রভুু থেকে আসে, যিনি আকাশ ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টিকর্ত্তা।
