< Philemon 1 >

1 From Paul, now a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and from Timothy, a fellow follower of the Lord.
Susura ia mia au, Paulus. Au nonoo ngga Timotius o haitua sodꞌa-moleꞌ boe. Sadꞌi aꞌa muhine, ara tao au sia bui rala ia, huu au dui-bꞌengga soꞌal Yesus Kristus neu atahori. Au suraꞌ susura ia fee neu nggo, Filemon, fo hai sueꞌ a, ma mana dadꞌi hai nonoo mana tao ues ma;
2 To our dear friend and fellow worker Philemon, to our sister Apphia, to our fellow soldier Archippus; and to the church that meets at Philemon’s house;
fee aꞌa Apfia, fo hai tao e onaꞌ hai toronoom; fee Arkipus, mana ue-tao naꞌabꞌue no hai sia ue-tataos ia ra; boe ma fee jamaꞌat mana biasa hule-oꞌe raꞌabꞌue sia umem.
3 may God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
Au oꞌe Lamatualain no hita Lamatuan Yesus Kristus ratudꞌu Rala Malole nara neu nggi, fo ona bee na, misodꞌa no mole-dꞌame.
4 I always mention you in my prayers and thank God for you,
Filemon! Mete ma au hule-oꞌe fee nggo, au oꞌe makasi neu Lamatuaꞌ huu masodꞌam.
5 because I hear of the love and the faith which you show, not only to the Lord Jesus, but also to all his people;
Au rena naeꞌ, soꞌal nemeherem neu Lamatuaꞌ Yesus, ma susuem neu atahori mamahereꞌ ra.
6 and I pray that your participation in the faith may result in action, as you come to a fuller realisation of everything that is good and Christlike in us.
Huu nemeherem naa, ho bisa musodꞌa ralaꞌ esa mo atahori mamahereꞌ laen ra. Au hule-oꞌe fo mete ma hei mitudꞌu rala malole mara esa no esa, na, hei mihine lenaꞌ basa dꞌala maloleꞌ, fo hita bisa tao fee neu Lamatuaꞌ Yesus.
7 I have indeed found great joy and encouragement in your love, knowing, as I do, how the hearts of Christ’s people have been cheered, friend, by you.
Aꞌa! Huu susuem naa, ho tao rala ngga namahoꞌo ena, ma tao manggatee rala ngga. Ma susuem naa o, tao manggatee atahori mamahereꞌ hetar rala nara ena boe.
8 And so, though my union with Christ enables me, with all confidence, to dictate the course that you should adopt,
Aꞌa ee! Au parlu taꞌo ia: au dadꞌi Kristus dedꞌenun. No taꞌo naa, au uꞌena hak fo parenda nggo tao dalaꞌ ia.
9 yet the claims of love make me prefer to plead with you – yes, even me, Paul, though I am an ambassador for Christ Jesus and, now a prisoner for him as well.
10 I plead with you for this child of mine, Onesimus, to whom, in my prison, I have become a father.
Au oꞌe nggo mutudꞌu susuem neu ana ngga, Onesimus. Eni, onaꞌ ana bꞌonggi ngga, huu namahere Lamatuaꞌ Yesus mia ue-tatao ngga leleꞌ au mia bui ia rala.
11 Once he was of little service to you, but now he has become of great service, not only to you, but to me as well;
Au bubꞌuluꞌ Onesimus naa, ho atem mana nela hela nggo. Au o bubꞌuluꞌ, feꞌesaꞌan ana nda ma ngguna saa fee nggo sa boe. Te aleꞌ ia, au umuhere ana naꞌena nggunaꞌ naen seli soaꞌ neu ruꞌa nggita.
12 and I am sending him back to you with this letter – though it is like tearing out of my heart.
Au sue ala e seli, te hela neu, au fee baliꞌ e nisiꞌ nggo.
13 For my own sake I should like to keep him with me, so that, while I am in prison for the good news, he might attend to my wants on your behalf.
Matetun, au ae hela e, fo nggati nggo, fo mete-seꞌu au sia ia. Huu au nda kaꞌe ala fo tao saa-saa sia ia sa boe. Au dadꞌi atahori bꞌui huu dui-bꞌengga Lamatuaꞌ Yesus Hara-lii Malolen neu atahori.
14 But I do not wish to do anything without your consent, because I want your generosity to be voluntary and not, as it were, compulsory.
Akaꞌ au nda nau fo ho tungga-tunggaꞌ a sa, huu atahori akaꞌ raꞌasusuuꞌ nggo. Au hihii ngga na, ho tao maloleꞌ huu hihii-nanaum. Dadꞌi mete ma ho nda feꞌe nau sa, na au o nda nau tao saa-saa soꞌal Onesimus ia sa boe, huu naa ho hak ma.
15 It may be that he was separated from you for an hour, for this reason, so that you might have him back for ever, (aiōnios g166)
Mbeima ho duꞌa taꞌo ia: Lamatuaꞌ hela Onesimus dinggoꞌ hela nggo nda dooꞌ sa, fo neti leo baliꞌ no nggo losa doon. (aiōnios g166)
16 no longer as a slave, but as something better – a dearly loved friend and follower of the Lord, especially dear to me, and how much more so to you, not only as a person, but as your fellow Christian!
Leleꞌ ana nela, ana dadꞌiꞌ a ate ma. Te aleꞌ ia ana baliꞌ, ana dadꞌi odꞌi susuem ena. Au o sue ala e seli boe! Dadꞌi ia naa, nggunan bau namanae fee nggo. Huu ana nda dadꞌiꞌ a ate sa, te ana o dadꞌi odꞌim mana mimihere belaꞌ neu Kristus.
17 If, then, you count me your friend, receive him as you would me.
Dadꞌi, taꞌo ia aꞌa. Mete ma ho mae au ia onaꞌ toronoo mana tao ues ma, na, au oꞌe fo ho simbo e onaꞌ ho simbo au boe.
18 If he has caused you any loss, or owes you anything, charge it to me.
Te, itaꞌ mbeima hambu Onisimus tao nasalaꞌ nggo, do, feꞌe nahuta nggo, hela fo au tanggon ala.
19 I, Paul, put my own hand to it – I will repay you myself. I say nothing about your owing me your self.
Meteꞌ a! susura hutaꞌ ia, au suraꞌ endiꞌ lima heheli ngga: Au, Paulus, dei fo au bꞌae ala Onisimus huta-bꞌukun mana sia Filemon. Dai ena, do? Ma au o nda parlu uꞌingga ho huta-bꞌukum naeꞌ lenaꞌ neu au sa. Naeni, ho dadꞌi muu Lamatuaꞌ atahorin, huu au.
20 Yes, friend, let me gain something from you because of your union with the Lord. Cheer my heart by your Christlike spirit.

Aꞌa! Au suraꞌ susura ia fee nggo, huu au umuhere nggo nau rena malolole neu au. Au duꞌa ae, neꞌo tao mulenaꞌ saa fo au oꞌeꞌ a.
22 Please also get a lodging ready for me, for I hope that I will be given back to you all in answer to your prayers.
