Matthew 25
1 ‘Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom.
Alsdann wird das Reich der Himmel gleich geworden sein zehn Jungfrauen, welche ihre Lampen nahmen und ausgingen, dem Bräutigam entgegen.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.
Fünf aber von ihnen waren klug und fünf töricht.
3 The foolish ones took their lamps, but took no oil with them;
Die, welche töricht waren, nahmen ihre Lampen und nahmen kein Öl mit sich;
4 while the prudent ones, besides taking their lamps, took oil in their jars.
die Klugen aber nahmen Öl in ihren Gefäßen mit ihren Lampen.
5 As the groom was late in coming, they all became drowsy, and slept.
Als aber der Bräutigam verzog, wurden sie alle schläfrig und schliefen ein.
6 But at midnight a shout was raised – “The groom is coming! Come out to meet him!”
Um Mitternacht aber entstand ein Geschrei: Siehe, der Bräutigam! Gehet aus, ihm entgegen!
7 Then all the bridesmaids woke up and trimmed their lamps,
Da standen alle jene Jungfrauen auf und schmückten ihre Lampen.
8 and the foolish said to the prudent “Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.”
Die Törichten aber sprachen zu den Klugen: Gebet uns von eurem Öl, denn unsere Lampen erlöschen.
9 But the prudent ones answered “No, There may not be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell it, and buy for yourselves.”
Die Klugen aber antworteten und sagten: Nicht also, damit es nicht etwa für uns und euch nicht ausreiche; gehet lieber hin zu den Verkäufern und kaufet für euch selbst.
10 But while they were on their way to buy it, the groom came; and the bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the banquet, and the door was shut.
Als sie aber hingingen zu kaufen, kam der Bräutigam, und die bereit waren, gingen mit ihm ein zur Hochzeit; und die Tür ward verschlossen.
11 Afterwards the other bridesmaids came. “Sir, Sir,” they said, “open the door to us!”
Später aber kommen auch die übrigen Jungfrauen und sagen: Herr, Herr, tue uns auf!
12 But the groom answered “I tell you, I do not know you.”
Er aber antwortete und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, ich kenne euch nicht.
13 Therefore watch, since you know neither the day nor the hour.
So wachet nun, denn ihr wisset weder den Tag noch die Stunde.
14 ‘For it is as though a man, going on his travels, called his servants, and gave his property into their charge.
Denn gleichwie ein Mensch, der außer Landes reiste, seine eigenen Knechte rief und ihnen seine Habe übergab: und einem gab er fünf Talente,
15 He gave five bags of gold to one, two to another, and one bag to a third, in proportion to the ability of each. Then he set out on his travels.
einem anderen zwei, einem anderen eins, einem jeden nach seiner eigenen Fähigkeit; und alsbald reiste er außer Landes.
16 The servant who had received the five bags of gold went at once and traded with it, and made another five bags.
Der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, ging aber hin und handelte mit denselben und gewann andere fünf Talente.
17 So, too, the servant who had received the two bags of gold made another two bags.
Desgleichen auch, der die zwei empfangen hatte, auch er gewann andere zwei.
18 But the servant who had received the one bag went and dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.
Der aber das eine empfangen hatte, ging hin, grub in die Erde und verbarg das Geld seines Herrn.
19 After a long time the master of those servants returned, and settled accounts with them.
Nach langer Zeit aber kommt der Herr jener Knechte und hält Rechnung mit ihnen.
20 The servant who had received the five bags of gold came up and brought five bags more. “Sir,” he said, “you entrusted me with five bags of gold; look, I have made another five bags!”
Und es trat herzu, der die fünf Talente empfangen hatte, und brachte andere fünf Talente und sagte: Herr, fünf Talente hast du mir übergeben, siehe, andere fünf Talente habe ich zu denselben gewonnen.
21 “Well done, good, trustworthy servant!” said his master. “You have been trustworthy with a small sum; now I will place a large one in your hands; come and share your master’s joy!”
Sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Wohl, du guter und treuer Knecht! Über weniges warst du treu, über vieles werde ich dich setzen; gehe ein in die Freude deines Herrn.
22 Then the one who had received the two bags of gold came up and said “Sir, you entrusted me with two bags pounds; look, I have made another two!”
Es trat aber auch herzu, der die zwei Talente empfangen hatte, und sprach: Herr, zwei Talente hast du mir übergeben; siehe, andere zwei Talente habe ich zu denselben gewonnen.
23 “Well done, good, trustworthy servant!” said his master. “You have been trustworthy with a small sum; now I will place a large one in your hands; come and share your master’s joy!”
Sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Wohl, du guter und treuer Knecht! Über weniges warst du treu, über vieles werde ich dich setzen; gehe ein in die Freude deines Herrn.
24 The man who had received the single bag of gold came up, too, and said “Sir, I knew that you were a hard man; you reap where you have not sown, and gather up where you have not winnowed;
Es trat aber auch herzu, der das eine Talent empfangen hatte, und sprach: Herr, ich kannte dich, daß du ein harter Mann bist: du erntest, wo du nicht gesät, und sammelst, wo du nicht ausgestreut hast;
25 and, in my fear, I went and hid your money in the ground; look, here is what belongs to you!”
und ich fürchtete mich und ging hin und verbarg dein Talent in der Erde; siehe, da hast du das Deine.
26 “You lazy, worthless servant!” was his master’s reply. “You knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather up where I have not winnowed?
Sein Herr aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Böser und fauler Knecht! Du wußtest, daß ich ernte, wo ich nicht gesät, und sammle, wo ich nicht ausgestreut habe?
27 Then you ought to have placed my money in the hands of bankers, and I, on my return, should have received my money, with interest.
So solltest du nun mein Geld den Wechslern gegeben haben, und wenn ich kam, hätte ich das Meine mit Zinsen erhalten.
28 Therefore,” he continued, “take away from him the one bag of gold, and give it to the one who has the ten bags.
Nehmet nun das Talent von ihm und gebet es dem, der sie zehn Talente hat;
29 For, to him who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but, as for him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away from him.
denn jedem, der da hat, wird gegeben werden, und er wird Überfluß haben; von dem aber, der nicht hat, von dem wird selbst, was er hat, weggenommen werden.
30 As for the useless servant, put him out into the darkness outside, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.”
Und den unnützen Knecht werfet hinaus in die äußere Finsternis: da wird sein das Weinen und das Zähneknirschen.
31 ‘When the Son of Man has come in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will take his seat on his throne of glory;
Wenn aber der Sohn des Menschen kommen wird in seiner Herrlichkeit, und alle Engel mit ihm, dann wird er auf seinem Throne der Herrlichkeit sitzen;
32 and all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people – just as a shepherd separates sheep from goats –
und vor ihm werden versammelt werden alle Nationen, und er wird sie voneinander scheiden, gleichwie der Hirt die Schafe von den Böcken scheidet.
33 placing the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on his left.
Und er wird die Schafe zu seiner Rechten stellen, die Böcke aber zur Linken.
34 Then the king will say to those on his right “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, enter into possession of the kingdom prepared for you ever since the beginning of the world.
Dann wird der König zu denen zu seiner Rechten sagen: Kommet her, Gesegnete meines Vaters, ererbet das Reich, das euch bereitet ist von Grundlegung der Welt an;
35 For, when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was a stranger, you took me to your homes;
denn mich hungerte, und ihr gabet mir zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr tränktet mich; ich war Fremdling, und ihr nahmet mich auf;
36 when I was naked, you clothed me; when I fell ill, you visited me; and when I was in prison, you came to me.”
nackt, und ihr bekleidetet mich; ich war krank, und ihr besuchtet mich; ich war im Gefängnis, und ihr kamet zu mir.
37 Then the righteous will answer “Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you? Or thirsty, and give you a drink?
Alsdann werden die Gerechten ihm antworten und sagen: Herr, wann sahen wir dich hungrig und speisten dich? Oder durstig und tränkten dich?
38 When did we see you a stranger, and take you to our homes? Or naked, and clothe you?
Wann aber sahen wir dich als Fremdling, und nahmen dich auf? Oder nackt und bekleideten dich?
39 When did we see you ill, or in prison, and come to you?”
Wann aber sahen wir dich krank oder im Gefängnis und kamen zu dir?
40 And the king will reply “I tell you, as often as you did it to one of these my brothers or sisters, however unimportant they seemed, you did it to me.”
Und der König wird antworten und zu ihnen sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, insofern ihr es einem der geringsten dieser meiner Brüder getan habt, habt ihr es mir getan.
41 Then he will say to those on his left “Go from my presence, accursed, into the permanent fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. (aiōnios g166)
Dann wird er auch zu denen zur Linken sagen: Gehet von mir, Verfluchte, in das ewige Feuer, das bereitet ist dem Teufel und seinen Engeln; (aiōnios g166)
42 For, when I was hungry, you gave me no food; when I was thirsty, you gave me no drink;
denn mich hungerte, und ihr gabet mir nicht zu essen; mich dürstete, und ihr tränktet mich nicht;
43 when I was a stranger, you did not take me to your homes; when I was naked, you did not clothe me; and, when I was ill and in prison, you did not visit me.”
ich war Fremdling, und ihr nahmet mich nicht auf; nackt, und ihr bekleidetet mich nicht; krank und im Gefängnis, und ihr besuchtet mich nicht.
44 Then they, in their turn, will answer “Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or ill, or in prison, and did not supply your wants?”
Dann werden auch sie antworten und sagen: Herr, wann sahen wir dich hungrig, oder durstig, oder als Fremdling, oder nackt, oder krank, oder im Gefängnis, und haben dir nicht gedient?
45 And then he will reply “I tell you, as often as you failed to do it to one of these, however unimportant, you failed to do it to me.”
Dann wird er ihnen antworten und sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, insofern ihr es einem dieser Geringsten nicht getan habt, habt ihr es auch mir nicht getan.
