Mark 4
1 Jesus again began to teach by the sea; and, as an immense crowd was gathering round him, he got into a boat, and sat in it on the sea, while all the people were on the shore at the water’s edge.
மீண்டும் இயேசு கடற்கரையினில் போதிக்கத் தொடங்கினார். அவரிடத்தில் மக்கள் பெருங்கூட்டமாய் திரண்டிருந்தபடியால், இயேசு கடலில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த ஒரு படகில் ஏறி அதில் உட்கார்ந்தார்; மக்களோ கடற்கரை ஓரமாய் நின்றார்கள்.
2 Then he taught them many truths in parables; and in the course of his teaching he said to them:
இயேசு பல காரியங்களை, உவமைகள் மூலம் அவர்களுக்கு போதித்தார். அவர் தமது போதனையில் அவர்களுக்கு இதைச் சொன்னார்:
3 ‘Listen! The sower went out to sow;
“கேளுங்கள்! ஒரு விவசாயி விதைகளை விதைக்கும்படி புறப்பட்டான்.
4 and presently, as he was sowing, some of the seed fell along the path; and the birds came, and ate it up.
அவன் விதைகளைத் விதைக்கையில், சில விதைகள் பாதையருகே விழுந்தன; பறவைகள் வந்து அவற்றைக் கொத்தித் தின்றுவிட்டன.
5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it had not much soil, and, because the soil wasn’t deep, sprang up at once;
சில விதைகள் மண் அதிகமாய் இல்லாத கற்பாறையான இடங்களில் விழுந்தன, மண் ஆழமாக இல்லாததினால், அது விரைவாக முளைத்தாலும்.
6 but, when the sun rose, it was scorched, and, because their roots were not deep enough, withered away.
வெயில் அதிகமானபோது, பயிர்கள் வாடிப்போயின; வேர் இல்லாததினாலே, அவை உலர்ந்தும் போயின.
7 Some of the seed fell among brambles; but the brambles shot up and completely choked it, and it yielded no return.
வேறுசில விதைகள் முட்செடிகளின் இடையே விழுந்தன; முட்செடி வளர்ந்து, பயிர்களை நெருக்கிப் போட்டது. அதனால், அவைகள் விளைச்சலைக் கொடுக்கவில்லை.
8 Some fell into good soil, and, shooting up and growing, yielded a return, amounting to thirty, sixty, and even a hundred fold.’
வேறுசில விதைகளோ நல்ல மண்ணில் விழுந்தன; அவை முளைவிட்டு வளர்ந்து முப்பதும், அறுபதும், நூறு மடங்கானதுமாக விளைச்சலைக் கொடுத்தன.”
9 And Jesus said, ‘Let anyone who has ears to hear with hear.’
பின்பு இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு, “கேட்பதற்கு காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கட்டும்” என்றார்.
10 Afterwards, when he was alone, his followers and the Twelve asked him about his parables;
அவர் தனிமையாய் இருந்தபோது, அந்த பன்னிரண்டு பேரும் அவருடன் இருந்த மற்றவர்களும் அந்த உவமையைப் பற்றிய விளக்கத்தைக் கேட்டார்கள்.
11 and he said, ‘To you the hidden truth of the kingdom of God has been imparted; but to those who are outside it all teaching takes the form of parables so that –
இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “இறைவனுடைய அரசின் இரகசியம் உங்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது; ஆனால், வெளியில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கோ, எல்லா காரியங்களும் உவமைகள் மூலமாகவே சொல்லப்படுகின்றன.
12 “Though they have eyes, they may see without perceiving; and though they have ears, they may hear without understanding; otherwise some day they might turn and be forgiven.”’
இதனால், “‘அவர்கள் எப்பொழுதும் கண்டும், ஒருபோதும் அறிந்துகொள்ளாமலும், கேட்டும் ஒருபோதும் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்; இல்லாவிட்டால், அவர்கள் மனந்திரும்பி மன்னிப்பைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள்’” என்றார்.
13 ‘You do not know the meaning of this parable?’ he went on, ‘Then how will you understand all the other parables?
மேலும் இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “இந்த உவமை உங்களுக்கு விளங்கவில்லையா? அப்படியானால், மற்ற உவமைகளையெல்லாம் எப்படி விளங்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
14 The sower sows the message.
“விவசாயி வார்த்தையை விதைக்கிறான்.
15 The people meant by the seed that falls along the path are these – where the message is sown, but, as soon as they have heard it, Satan immediately comes and carries away the message that has been sown in them.
சிலர் பாதை ஓரத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட விதை போன்றவர்கள். இவர்கள் வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டவுடன், சாத்தான் வந்து அவர்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளை எடுத்துப் போடுகிறான்.
16 So, too, those meant by the seed sown on the rocky places are the people who, when they have heard the message, at once accept it joyfully;
மற்றவர்களோ, கற்பாறையான இடங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட விதைக்கு ஒப்பானவர்கள்; அவர்கள் வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டவுடன் அதை சந்தோஷத்துடன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்கள்.
17 but, as they have no root, they stand only for a short time; and so, when trouble or persecution arises because of the message, they fall away at once.
ஆனால் வேரில்லாததால், அவர்கள் கொஞ்சக்காலம் மட்டுமே நிலைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். வார்த்தையின் நிமித்தம் கஷ்டங்களும், துன்பங்களும் வரும்போது, அவர்கள் விரைவாய் விசுவாசத்திலிருந்து விழுந்து போகிறார்கள்.
18 Those meant by the seed sown among the brambles are different; they are the people who hear the message,
வேறுசிலரோ, முட்செடிகளுக்கு இடையில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட விதைகளுக்கு ஒப்பானவர்கள்; அவர்கள் வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டும்,
19 but the cares of life, and the glamour of wealth, and cravings for many other things come in and completely choke the message, so that it gives no return. (aiōn g165)
இவ்வாழ்விற்குரிய கவலைகளும் செல்வத்தின் போலியான கவர்ச்சிகளும், இன்னும் வேறு காரியங்களின் ஆசைகளும் உள்ளே வந்து, வார்த்தையை நெருக்கிப் போடுகின்றன. இதனால் வார்த்தை அவர்களில் பலனற்றுப் போகிறது. (aiōn g165)
20 But the people meant by the seed sown on the good ground are those who hear the message, and welcome it, and yield a return, thirty, sixty, and even a hundred fold.’
வேறுசிலரோ, நல்ல நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்ட விதைக்கு ஒப்பானவர்கள்; அவர்கள் வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு சிலர் முப்பதும், அறுபதும், நூறு மடங்காகவும் விளைச்சலைக் கொடுக்கிறார்கள்” என்றார்.
21 Jesus said to them, ‘Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under the couch, instead of being put on the lamp-stand?
மேலும் இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “ஒரு விளக்கைக் கொண்டுவருவது, பாத்திரத்தின் கீழோ, கட்டிலின் கீழோ மறைத்துவைக்கிறதற்கா? அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின் மேல் வைக்கிறதற்கு அல்லவா?
22 There is nothing hidden that will not come to light and nothing is concealed that will not be brought into the open.
வெளிப்படாமல் மறைத்திருப்பது ஒன்றுமில்லை, வெளியாகாமல் ஒளிந்திருப்பது ஒன்றுமில்லை.
23 Let all who have ears to hear with hear.
கேட்பதற்கு காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கட்டும்” என்றார்.
24 ‘Take care what you listen to,’ said Jesus. ‘The standard you use will be used for you, and more will be added for you.
இயேசு தொடர்ந்து: “நீங்கள் கேட்பதைக் கவனமாய் யோசியுங்கள். எந்த அளவையை நீங்கள் உபயோகிக்கிறீர்களோ, அந்த அளவையினாலேயே உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும். கேட்கிற உங்களுக்கு அதிகமாகவும் கொடுக்கப்படும்.
25 For, to those who have, more will be given; while, from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.’
இருக்கிறவனுக்கு மேலும் கொடுக்கப்படும்; இல்லாதவனிடம் உள்ளதும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்” என்றார்.
26 Jesus also said, ‘This is what the kingdom of God is like – like a man who has scattered seed on the ground,
மேலும் இயேசு சொன்னார்: “இறைவனுடைய அரசு ஒருவர் விதைகளை நிலத்தில் விதைக்கிறதற்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது.
27 and then sleeps by night and rises by day, while the seed is shooting up and growing – he knows not how.
அவன் இரவும் பகலும் தூங்கியும் விழித்தும் இருக்கையில் அந்த விதை முளைவிட்டு வளர்கிறது; அது எப்படியென்று அவனுக்குத் தெரியாது.
28 The ground bears the crop of itself – first the blade, then the ear, and then the full grain in the ear;
மண் தானாகவே தானியத்தை, முதலில் பயிரையும் பின்பு கதிரையும் அதற்குப் பின்பு கதிரிலே நிறைந்த தானியத்தையும் அது கொடுக்கிறது.
29 but, as soon as the crop is ready, immediately he puts in the sickle because harvest has come.’
பயிர் விளைந்தவுடனே, அறுவடை வந்துவிட்டதென்று விதைத்தவன் அதன்மேல் அரிவாளை போடுகிறான்” என்றார்.
30 Jesus also said, ‘To what can we liken the kingdom of God?
மீண்டும் இயேசு, “இறைவனுடைய அரசை, நாம் எதற்கு ஒப்பிட்டுச் சொல்வோம், எந்த உவமையினால் அதை விவரித்துக் கூறுவோம்?
31 By what can we illustrate it? Perhaps by the growth of a mustard seed. This seed, when sown in the ground, though it is smaller than all other seeds,
அது கடுகுவிதையைப் போன்றது. அது பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா விதைகளிலும் சிறியதாக இருக்கிறது.
32 yet, when sown, shoots up, and becomes larger than any other herb, and puts out great branches, so that even the wild birds can roost in its shelter.’
ஆகிலும் அது விதைக்கப்படும்போது முளைத்து, தோட்டத்திலுள்ள மற்ற எல்லாச் செடிகளைப் பார்க்கிலும் பெரியதாய் வளர்கிறது. ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள் அதன் நிழலில் வந்து தங்கக்கூடிய அளவுக்குப் பெரியதான கிளைகளையும் விடுகிறது” என்றார்.
33 With many such parables Jesus used to speak to the people of his message, as far as they were able to receive it;
மக்கள் கேட்டு விளங்கக்கூடிய அளவுக்கு, இயேசு இதேவிதமான பல உவமைகள் மூலம், அவர்களுக்கு வார்த்தையைச் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்தார்.
34 and to them he never used to speak except in parables; but in private to his own disciples he explained everything.
உவமைகளின் மூலமே அல்லாமல், இயேசு அவர்களுடன் எதையுமே பேசவில்லை. ஆனால் அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களுடன் தனித்திருந்தபோது, அவர்களுக்கு எல்லாவற்றையும் தெளிவாக்கினார்.
35 In the evening of the same day, Jesus said to them, ‘Let us go across.’
அன்று மாலை வேளையானபோது, இயேசு தம்முடைய சீடர்களிடம், “நாம் மறுகரைக்குப் போவோம்” என்றார்.
36 So, leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them, just as he was, in the boat; and there were other boats with him.
அவர்கள் மக்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டு, இயேசுவை அவர் படகில் இருந்த வண்ணமாகவே, தங்களுடன் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு சென்றார்கள். வேறு படகுகளும் அவருடன் சென்றன.
37 A violent squall came on, and the waves kept dashing into the boat, so that the boat was actually filling.
அப்பொழுது பலத்த புயல்காற்று உண்டாகி, அலைகள் படகின்மேல் மோதின; படகு மூழ்கத்தொடங்கியது.
38 Jesus was in the stern asleep on the cushion; and the disciples roused him and cried, ‘Teacher! Is it nothing to you that we are lost?’
இயேசுவோ படகின் பின்பகுதியில் ஒரு தலையணை வைத்து தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். சீடர்கள் அவரை எழுப்பி அவரிடம், “போதகரே! நாங்கள் மூழ்கப்போவதைப் பற்றி, உமக்குக் கவலையில்லையா!” எனக் கேட்டார்கள்.
39 Jesus rose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Hush! Be still!’ Then the wind dropped, and a great calm followed.
இயேசு விழித்தெழுந்து, காற்றைக் கடிந்துகொண்டார்; அலைகளிடம், “அமைதியாயிரு! இரையாதே” என்றார். அப்பொழுது காற்று அடங்கி, மிகுந்த அமைதி உண்டாயிற்று.
40 ‘Why are you so timid?’ he exclaimed. ‘Have you no faith yet?’
இயேசு தமது சீடர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் ஏன் இவ்வளவாய் பயப்படுகிறீர்கள்? உங்களுக்கு இன்னும் விசுவாசம் இல்லையா?” என்றார்.
41 But they were struck with great awe, and said to one another, ‘Who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey him?’
அவர்கள் பயமடைந்து ஒருவரோடொருவர், “இவர் யார்? காற்றும், அலைகளுங்கூட இவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே?” என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
