Hosea 5
1 Hear this, priests! Attend, Israelites! Listen, royal family! For you is the judgment: a snare you have become at Mizpeh, and a net spread out on Tabor,
"Hört dies, ihr Priester! Achte drauf, Haus Israel! Horch auf, du Königshaus! Denn euch obliegt das Recht. Ihr gleicht auf Mispa einer Schlinge und einem ausgespannten Netz auf Tabor.
2 the rebels are deep in slaughter, but I will discipline all.
In Grüften haben sie Unschuldige geschlachtet; ich aber ward von ihnen allen abgetan.
3 I know Ephraim, Israel is not hidden from me, for you, Ephraim, have committed prostitution and Israel is defiled.
O Ephraim, ich weiß es gut; o Israel, mir ist es nicht verborgen, daß du noch immer buhlst, daß Ephraim und Israel sich unrein machen."
4 Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. For the spirit of prostitution is within them, they do not know the Lord.
Nicht lassen ihre Werke zu, daß sie zu ihrem Gott sich kehren, ist doch der Buhlergeist in ihrer Mitte. Sie wollen von dem Herrn nichts wissen.
5 Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, Israel, even Ephraim, stumble in their sin, and Judah also stumbles with them.
Sein Prunk jedoch zeugt wider Israel, und Israel und Ephraim, sie beide stürzen hin durch ihre Schuld. Auch Juda stürzt mit ihnen.
6 With their sheep and their cattle they will go to seek the Lord but they will not find him, he has withdrawn from them,
Dann ziehen sie mit ihren Schafen und den Rindern aus, den Herrn zu suchen. Sie aber finden ihn nicht mehr; denn er entzieht sich ihnen.
7 for they have been untrue to the Lord, their children are strangers. Their new moon festivals will soon destroy them and their fields.
Die Treue brachen sie dem Herrn; unechte Söhne zeugten sie. Ein Zorn verzehrt sie jetzt samt ihren Ländereien.
8 Blow the trumpet in Gibeah, the clarion in Ramah! Raise the alarm in Beth-aven: we are with you, Benjamin!
"Auf! Stoßt zu Gibea in die Posaune, zu Rama in Trompeten und schreit beim Götzenhaus: 'Nimm dich in acht, du Benjamin!'
9 Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of punishment, concerning the tribes of Israel I make known what is certain.
Zum Schreckensbild wird Ephraim am Tag der Züchtigung. Den Stämmen Israels verkünd ich ganz Gewisses.
10 The princes of Israel have become like thieves who move boundary stones. On them I will pour out my wrath like a flood.
Die Fürsten Judas gleichen Grenzverrückern; drum gieße ich auch über sie wie Wasser meinen Grimm."
11 Ephraim will be oppressed, crushed by judgment, for they are determined to go after vanity.
Bedrückt, geknickt wird Ephraim mit Recht, weil es mit Willen Ekelhaftem folgt.
12 So I am like a moth to Ephraim, like rottenness to the house of Judah.
"Wie Fieber werde ich für Ephraim, für Judas Haus wie Wurmfraß.
13 For when Ephraim saw their sickness and Israel their wound, Ephraim turned to Assyria, to its patron king. But he cannot heal you nor relieve you of your wound.
Wenn Ephraim dann seine Krankheit merkt und Juda seinen Eiter, dann wendet Ephraim sich an Assyrien und schickt zum mächtigen König. Doch dieser kann euch auch nicht heilen und euch vom Eiter nicht befreien.
14 For I myself will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, yes I, will rend and go my way, I will carry off and none will rescue.
Ein Löwe werde ich für Ephraim, für Judas Haus ein junger Leu. Ich selber raube, gehe fort und nehm es mit, und niemand kann es mir entreißen.
15 I will return to my place, until in remorse they seek my presence. When they are in distress they will quickly seek me,
Ich gehe fort und kehre heim zu meinem Lager, bis sie sich schuldig geben und mein Antlitz suchen in der Not, sich ängstlich an mich wendend, sprechen:
