Hebrews 9
1 It is true that even the first covenant had its regulations for divine worship, and its sanctuary – though only a material one.
Ước trước cũng có những luật về việc thờ phượng và một nơi thánh dưới đất.
2 For a tent was constructed, with an outer part which contained the stand for the lamps, and the table, and the consecrated bread. This is called the sanctuary.
Vả, một đền tạm đã dựng lên: phần thứ nhất gọi là nơi thánh, có chân đèn, bàn và bánh bày ra;
3 The part of the tent behind the second curtain is called the inner sanctuary.
rồi đến phía trong màn thứ hai, tức là phần gọi là nơi rất thánh,
4 In it is the gold incense-altar, and the ark containing the covenant, completely covered with gold. In the ark is a gold casket containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets on which the covenant was written;
có lư hương bằng vàng và hòm giao ước, toàn bọc bằng vàng. Trong hòm có một cái bình bằng vàng đựng đầy ma-na, cây gậy trổ hoa của A-rôn, và hai bảng giao ước;
5 while above it, and overshadowing the cover on which atonement was made, are the cherubim of the presence. Now is not the time to discuss these things in detail.
phía trên có hai chê-ru-bin vinh hiển, bóng nó che phủ nơi chuộc tội. Nhưng đây không phải dịp kể các điều đó cho rõ ràng.
6 Such, then, was the arrangement of the tent. Into the outer part priests are constantly going, in the discharge of their sacred duties;
Các vật đã sắp đặt như vậy, hằng ngày những thầy tế lễ vào phần thứ nhất trong đền tạm, đặng làm trọn việc tế lễ;
7 but into the inner only the high priest goes, and that but once a year, and never without taking the blood of a victim, which he offers on his own behalf, and on behalf of the errors of the people.
nhưng, phần thứ hai, thì mỗi năm một lần chỉ một mình thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm vào, chẳng bao giờ mà không đem huyết dâng vì chính mình và vì sự lầm lỗi dân chúng.
8 By this the Holy Spirit is teaching that the way into the sanctuary was hidden, as long as the outer part of the tent still remained.
Đức Thánh Linh lấy đó chỉ ra rằng hễ đền tạm thứ nhất đang còn, thì đường vào nơi rất thánh chưa mở.
9 For that was only a type, to continue down to the present time; and, in keeping with it, both gifts and sacrifices are offered, though incapable of satisfying the conscience of the worshiper;
Aáy là một hình bóng chỉ về đời bây giờ, để tỏ rằng các lễ vật và hi sinh dâng đó, không có thể làm cho kẻ thờ phượng được vẹn lành về lương tâm.
10 the whole system being concerned only with food and drink and various ablutions – external ceremonials imposed until the coming of the new order.
Đó chẳng qua là mạng lịnh của xác thịt, cũng như các lễ ăn, uống, rửa sạch, chỉ lập cho đến kỳ hoán cải vậy.
11 But, when Christ came, he appeared as high priest of that better system which was established; and he entered through that nobler and more perfect tent, not made by human hands – that is to say, not a part of this present creation.
Nhưng Đấng Christ đã hiện đến, làm thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm của những sự tốt lành sau nầy; Ngài đã vượt qua đền tạm lớn hơn và trọn vẹn hơn, không phải tay người dựng ra, nghĩa là không thuộc về đời nầy;
12 Nor was it with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, that he entered, once and for all, into the sanctuary, and obtained our eternal deliverance. (aiōnios g166)
Ngài đã vào nơi rất thánh một lần thì đủ hết, không dùng huyết của dê đực và của bò con, nhưng dùng chính huyết mình, mà được sự chuộc tội đời đời. (aiōnios g166)
13 For, if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of the ashes of a heifer, purify those who have been defiled (as far as ceremonial purification goes),
Vì nếu huyết của dê đực bò đực cùng tro bò cái tơ mà người ta rưới trên kẻ ô uế còn làm sạch được phần xác thịt họ và nên thánh thay,
14 how much more will the blood of the Christ, who, through his eternal Spirit, offered himself up to God, as a victim without blemish, purify our consciences from a lifeless formality, and fit us for the service of the living God! (aiōnios g166)
huống chi huyết của Đấng Christ, là Đấng nhờ Đức Thánh Linh đời đời, dâng chính mình không tì tích cho Đức Chúa Trời, thì sẽ làm sạch lương tâm anh em khỏi công việc chết, đặng hầu việc Đức Chúa Trời hằng sống, là dường nào! (aiōnios g166)
15 And that is why he is the intermediary of a new covenant; in order that, as a death has taken place to effect a deliverance from the offences committed under the first covenant, those who have received the call may obtain the eternal inheritance promised to them. (aiōnios g166)
Nhân đó, Ngài là Đấng trung bảo của giao ước mới, để khi Ngài chịu chết mà chuộc tội đã phạm dưới giao ước cũ, thì những kẻ được kêu gọi nhận lãnh cơ nghiệp đời đời đã hứa cho mình. (aiōnios g166)
16 Whenever such a covenant as a will is in question, the death of the testator must of necessity be alleged.
Vì khi có chúc thơ, thì cần phải đợi đến kẻ trối chết đã.
17 For such a covenant takes effect only on death, it does not come into force as long as the testator is alive.
Chúc thơ chỉ có giá trị sau lúc chết, vì hễ kẻ trối còn sống thì nó không có quyền gì.
18 This explains why even the first covenant was not ratified without the shedding of blood.
Aáy vậy, chính giao ước trước nào chẳng phải là không dùng máu mà lập.
19 For, when every command had been announced to all the people by Moses in accordance with the Law, he took the blood of the calves and of the goats, with water, scarlet wool, and a bunch of hyssop, and sprinkled even the book of the Law, as well as all the people,
Lúc Môi-se phán mọi điều răn của luật pháp cho dân chúng, có lấy máu của bò con và dê đực, với nước, dây nhung đỏ tía và nhành ngưu tất rảy trên sách cùng trên cả dân chúng,
20 saying, as he did so – ‘This is the blood that renders valid the covenant which God has commanded to be made with you.’
mà nói rằng: Nầy là huyết của sự giao ước mà Đức Chúa Trời đã dạy lập với các ngươi.
21 And in the same way he also sprinkled with the blood the tent and all the things that were used in public worship.
Đoạn, người cũng lấy huyết rảy đền tạm cùng mọi đồ thờ.
22 Indeed, under the Law, almost everything is purified with blood; and, unless blood is shed, no forgiveness is to be obtained.
Theo luật pháp thì hầu hết mọi vật đều nhờ huyết mà được sạch: không đổ huyết thì không có sự tha thứ.
23 While, then, it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly realities to be purified by such means as these, the heavenly realities themselves required better sacrifices.
Vậy, nếu những tượng chỉ về các vật trên trời đã phải nhờ cách ấy mà được sạch, thì chính các vật trên trời phải nhờ của lễ càng quí trọng hơn nữa để được sạch.
24 For it was not into a sanctuary made by human hands, which merely foreshadowed the true one, that Christ entered, but into heaven itself, so that he might now appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
Vả Đấng Christ chẳng phải vào nơi thánh bởi tay người làm ra, theo kiểu mẫu nơi thánh thật, bèn là vào chính trong trời, để bây giờ vì chúng ta hiện ra trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời.
25 Nor yet was it to offer himself may times, as year after year the high priest entered the sanctuary with an offering of blood – but not his own blood;
Aáy chẳng phải là dâng chính mình Ngài nhiều lần, như thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm mỗi năm vào trong nơi rất thánh mà dâng huyết không phải là huyết mình;
26 for then Christ would have had to undergo death many times since the creation of the world. But now, once and for all, at the close of the age, he has appeared, in order to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself. (aiōn g165)
bằng chẳng vậy, thì từ buổi sáng thế đến nay, Ngài đã phải chịu khổ nhiều lần rồi. Nhưng hiện nay đến cuối cùng các thời đại, Ngài đã hiện ra chỉ một lần, dâng mình làm tế lễ để cất tội lỗi đi. (aiōn g165)
27 And, as it is ordained for people to die but once (death being followed by judgment),
Theo như đã định cho loài người phải chết một lần, rồi chịu phán xét,
28 so it is with the Christ. He was offered up once and for all, to bear away the sins of many; and the second time he will appear – but without any burden of sin – to those who are waiting for him, to bring salvation.
cũng vậy, Đấng Christ đã dâng mình chỉ một lần đặng cất tội lỗi của nhiều người; Ngài lại sẽ hiện ra lần thứ hai, không phải để cất tội lỗi đi nữa, nhưng để ban sự cứu rỗi cho kẻ chờ đợi Ngài.
