< 2 Peter 1 >

1 To those to whom, through the justice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ, there has been granted faith equally privileged with our own, from Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ.
Ni Simon Pedro, maysa a tagabu ken apostol ni Jesu-Cristo, kadagidiay a nakaawat iti isu met laeng a napateg a pammati kas inawatmi, pammati iti kinalinteg iti Diostayo ken Manangisalakan a ni Jesu-Cristo.
2 May blessing and peace be yours in ever increasing measure, as you advance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus, our Lord.
Umadda koma ti parabur kadakayo; rumang-ay koma ti kapia babaen iti pannakaammoyo iti Dios ken ni Jesus nga Apotayo.
3 For his divine power has given us everything that is needful for a life of piety, as we advance in the knowledge of him who called us by a glorious manifestation of his goodness.
Iti panakabalin ti Dios, amin a banbanag a kasapulan tapno maaddaantayo iti biag ken agbiagtayo iti nadiosan a panagbiag ket naipaay kadatayo babaen iti pannakaammo iti Dios a nangayab kadatayo babaen iti bukodna a dayag ken kinaimbag.
4 For it was through this that he gave us what we prize as the greatest of his promises, that through them you might participate in the divine nature, now that you have fled from the corruption in the world, resulting from human passions.
Babaen kadagitoy, intedna kadatayo dagiti napateg ken naindaklan a karkari. Inaramidna daytoy tapno mabalinyo iti makibingay iti nadiosan a kababalinna, iti panangliklikyo iti pannakadadael nga adda iti lubong gapu kadagiti dakes a tarigagay.
5 Yes, and for this reason do your best to supplement your faith by goodness, goodness by knowledge,
Gapu iti daytoy, aramidenyo ti amin a kabaelanyo a manginayon iti kinaimbag iti pammatiyo, ken iti kinaimbagyo, inayonyo ti pannakaammo.
6 knowledge by self-control, self-control by endurance, endurance by piety,
Iti pannakaammoyo, inayonyo ti kinamanagteppel, ken iti kinamanagteppelyo, inayonyo ti panagibtur, ken iti panagibturyo, inayonyo ti nadiosan a panagbiag.
7 piety by mutual affection, and mutual affection by love.
Iti nadiosan a panagbiagyo, inayonyo ti nainkabsatan a panangipateg, ken iti nainkabsatan a panangipateg, inayonyo ti ayat.
8 For, when these virtues are yours, in increasing measure, they prevent your being indifferent to, or destitute of, a fuller knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
No adda kadakayo dagitoy a banbanag ken dumakdakkelda kadakayo, saankayonto nga agbalin a baog wenno saan a nabunga iti pannakaammo kenni Apotayo a Jesu-Cristo.
9 Surely the person who has not these virtues is shortsighted even to blindness, and has chosen to forget that they have been purified from their sins of the past!
Ngem siasinoman nga agkurang kadagitoy a banbanag ket ti asideg laeng ti makitana; bulsek isuna. Nalipatanna ti pannakadalusna manipud kadagiti nagkauna a basbasolna.
10 Therefore, friends, do your best to put God’s call and selection of you beyond all doubt; for, if you do this, you will never fall.
Ngarud, kakabsat, aramidenyo ti amin a kabaelanyo a mamagbalin iti nakaayaban ken pannakapiliyo a natalged para kadakayo. No aramidenyo dagitoy a banbanag, saankayonto a maitibkol.
11 For in this way you will be given a triumphant admission into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
Iti kasta, aglaplapusananto a maipaay kadakayo ti pagserkan iti agnanayon a pagarian ti Apo ken Mangisalakantayo a ni Jesu-Cristo. (aiōnios g166)
12 I will, therefore, always be ready to remind you of all this, even though you know it and are firmly established in the truth that you now hold.
Ngarud, nakasaganaak a kankanayon a mangipalagip kadakayo kadagitoy a banbanag, numan pay ammoyon dagitoy, ken natibkerkayon iti kinapudno.
13 But I think it my duty, as long as I live in this “tent,” to rouse you by awakening memories of the past;
Panagkunak ket maiparbeng a riingenkayo ken palagipankayo maipanggep kadagitoy a banbanag, kabayatan nga addaak iti daytoy a tolda.
14 for I know that the time for this “tent” of mine to be put away is soon coming, as our Lord Jesus Christ himself assured me.
Ta ammok nga ikkatekto daytoy a toldak iti mabiit, kas impakita kaniak ni Apotayo a Jesu-Cristo.
15 So I will do my best to enable you, at any time after my departure, to call these truths to mind.
Aramidek ti amin a kabaelak tapno kanayonyonto a laglagipen dagitoy a banbanag kalpasan iti ipapanawko.
16 For we were not following cleverly devised stories when we told you of the coming in power of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eye-witnesses of his majesty.
Ta saanmi a sinurot dagiti sinisikap a binalabala laeng ti panunot idi imbagami kadakayo ti maipapan iti pannakabalin ken ti panagparang ni Apotayo a Jesu-Cristo, ngem nasaksianmi ti kinatan-okna.
17 For he received honour and glory from God the Father, when from the glory of the Divine Majesty there were borne to his ears words such as these – “This is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy.”
Inawatna manipud iti Dios Ama ti dayaw ken dayag idi ibagbaga ti timek kenkuana manipud iti Natan-ok a Dayag a kunana, “Daytoy ti Anakko nga ay-ayatek, a pakaay-aywak la unay.”
18 These were the words that we heard, borne to our ears from heaven, when we were with him on that sacred mountain.
Nangngegmi daytoy a timek a nagtaud sadi langit, kabayatan a kadduami isuna idiay tapaw ti nasantoan a bantay.
19 And still stronger is the assurance that we have in the teaching of the prophets; to which you will do well to pay attention (as if it were a lamp shining in a gloomy place), until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Adda kadakami daytoy a sao a naipadto a napatalged, nga isu iti ipangpangagyo a nasayaat. Maiyarig daytoy iti agranranniag a silaw iti nasipnget a disso agingga a dumteng ti agsapa ken agsingising ti bituen iti agsapa kadagiti puspusoyo.
20 But first be assured of this: There is no prophetic teaching found in scripture that can be interpreted by a person’s unaided reason;
Ammoenyo nga umuna daytoy, nga iti naisurat a padto ket saan a nagtaud iti bukod a kapanunotan ti profeta
21 for no prophetic teaching ever came in the old days at the mere wish of people, but people, moved by the Holy Spirit, spoke direct from God.
Ta awan ti padto nga immay babaen iti pagayatan ti tao, ngem babaen kadagiti tattao nga indalan ti Espiritu Santo a nangisao iti sao a nagtaud iti Dios.
