1 Thessalonians 5

1 But as to the times and the moments, there is no need, friends, for anyone to write to you.

இப்பொழுதும் பிரியமானவர்களே, இவை நிகழும் காலங்களையும் வேளைகளையும் குறித்து, நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு எழுதவேண்டியதில்லை.

2 You yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come just as a thief comes in the night.

ஏனெனில் கர்த்தருடைய நாள் இரவில் திருடன் வருகிறதைப்போலவே வரும் என்று நீங்கள் நன்றாய் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே.

3 When people are saying “All is quiet and safe,” it is then that, like birth pains on a pregnant woman, ruin comes suddenly upon them, and there will be no escape!

“சமாதானமும் பாதுகாப்பும்” உண்டு என்று மக்கள் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஒரு கர்ப்பவதியான பெண்ணுக்கு பிரசவவேதனை வருவதுபோல, திடீரென அவர்கள்மேல் பேராபத்து வரும். அவர்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாது.

4 You, however, friends, are not in darkness, that the daylight should take you by surprise as if you were thieves.

ஆனால் பிரியமானவர்களே, நீங்கள் இருளில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் இல்லை. ஆதலால், அந்நாள் ஒரு திருடனைப்போல் வந்து உங்களை வியப்பிற்குள்ளாக்காது.

5 For you all are children of light and children of the day. We have nothing to do with night, or darkness.

நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளும் பகலின் பிள்ளைகளுமாய் இருக்கிறீர்கள். நாம் இரவுக்கோ, இருளுக்கோ உரியவர்களல்ல.

6 Therefore let us not sleep as others do. No, let us be watchful and self-controlled.

ஆகவே நாம் தூங்குகிற மற்றவர்களைப்போல் இருக்காமல், விழிப்புடனும் தன்னடக்கத்துடனும் இருப்போமாக.

7 It is at night that people sleep, and at night that drunkards get drunk.

ஏனெனில் நித்திரை செய்கிறவர்கள் இரவில் நித்திரை செய்கிறார்கள். மதுவெறி கொள்கிறவர்கள் இரவிலே வெறிகொள்கிறார்கள்.

8 But let us, who belong to the day, control ourselves, and put on faith and love as a breast plate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

ஆனால் நாமோ பகலுக்குரியவர்களாய் இருக்கிறபடியால் தன்னடக்கத்துடன் இருந்து, விசுவாசத்தையும் அன்பையும் மார்புக்கவசமாக அணிந்துகொள்வோம். இரட்சிப்பைப் பற்றிய எதிர்பார்ப்பை தலைக்கவசமாய் அணிந்துகொள்வோம்.

9 For God destined us, not for wrath, but to win salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us,

ஏனெனில் இறைவன் நம்மை தமது கோபத்தின் தண்டனையைப் பெறுவதற்காக நியமிக்கவில்லை. நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் வழியாக இரட்சிப்பைப் பெறவே நியமித்திருக்கிறார்.

10 that, whether we are still watching or have fallen asleep, we may live with him.

நாம் உயிருடன் இருந்தாலும், மரண நித்திரை அடைந்தாலும் கிறிஸ்துவுடன் ஒன்றாய் வாழும்படியாக, அவர் நமக்காக இறந்தார்.

11 Therefore encourage one another, and try to build up one another’s characters, as indeed you are doing.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது செய்கிறதுபோலவே, ஒருவரையொருவர் உற்சாகப்படுத்தி, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் மற்றவர்களின் ஆவிக்குரிய வளர்ச்சிக்கு உதவுங்கள்.

12 We beg you, friends, to value those who toil among you, and are your leaders in the Lord’s service, and give you counsel.

பிரியமானவர்களே, இப்பொழுதும் நாங்கள் உங்களைக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறதாவது, உங்களிடையே கஷ்டப்பட்டு வேலை செய்கிறவர்களாக, கர்த்தரில் உங்கள் மேற்பார்வையாளராய் இருந்து, உங்களுக்குப் புத்திமதி சொல்கிறவர்களை மதித்து நடவுங்கள்.

13 Hold them in the very greatest esteem and affection for the sake of their work. Live at peace with one another.

அவர்களுடைய வேலையின் நிமித்தம் அவர்களில் அன்பு செலுத்தி, அவர்களுக்கு மிக உயர்ந்த மதிப்பைக் கொடுங்கள். ஒருவரோடொருவர் சமாதானமாய் வாழுங்கள்.

14 We entreat you also, friends – warn the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, give a helping hand to the weak, and be patient with everyone.

பிரியமானவர்களே, நாங்கள் உங்களிடம் வேண்டிக்கொள்கிறதாவது, சோம்பலாய் இருக்கிறவர்களை எச்சரியுங்கள். பயந்த சுபாவமுடையவர்களை உற்சாகப்படுத்துங்கள். பலவீனமானவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யுங்கள். எல்லோருடனும் பொறுமையோடு நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

15 Take care that none of you ever pays back wrong for wrong, but always follow the kindest course with one another and with everyone.

ஒருவரும் தீமையான செயலுக்குப் பதிலாக இன்னொரு தீமையான செயலை செய்யாதபடி கவனமாயிருங்கள். ஆனால் எப்பொழுதும் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் மற்ற எல்லோருக்கும் நன்மை செய்யவே முயற்சி செய்யுங்கள்.

16 Always be joyful;

எப்பொழுதும் மகிழ்ச்சியாய் இருங்கள்.

17 never cease to pray;

இடைவிடாது மன்றாடுங்கள்.

18 under all circumstances give thanks to God. For this is his will for you as made known in Christ Jesus.

எல்லாவித சூழ்நிலையிலும் நன்றி செலுத்துங்கள்; இதுவே கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் உங்களுக்கான இறைவனின் சித்தம்.

19 Do not quench the Spirit;

ஆவியானவரின் அனலை அணைத்துப் போடாதிருங்கள்.

20 do not make light of preaching.

சொல்லப்படுகின்ற இறைவாக்கை அலட்சியம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.

21 Bring everything to the test; cling to what is good;

எல்லாவற்றையும் சோதித்துப் பார்த்து, நல்லதைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

22 shun every form of evil.

எல்லா விதமான தீயசெயல்களையும் விட்டு விலகியிருங்கள்.

23 May God himself, the giver of peace, make you altogether holy; and may your spirits, souls, and bodies be kept altogether faultless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

சமாதானத்தின் இறைவன் தாமே முற்றிலுமாய் உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாராக. நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து வரும்போது, உங்களுடைய ஆவி, ஆத்துமா, உடல் முழுவதும் குற்றமற்றதாய் காக்கப்படுவதாக.

24 He who calls you will not fail you; he will complete his work.

உங்களை அழைத்த இறைவன் உண்மையுள்ளவர், அவர் அப்படியே செய்வார்.

25 Friends, pray for us.

பிரியமானவர்களே, எங்களுக்காக மன்றாடுங்கள்.

26 Greet all the Lord’s followers with a sacred kiss.

எல்லா சகோதரரையும் பரிசுத்த முத்தம் கொடுத்து வாழ்த்துங்கள்.

27 I order you in the Lord’s name to have this letter read to all the brethren.

இந்தக் கடிதத்தை எல்லா சகோதரருக்கும் வாசித்துக் காண்பிக்கும்படி, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

28 May the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

நமது கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபை உங்களுடனேகூட இருப்பதாக. ஆமென்.
