1 Peter 1
1 To the people of God who are living abroad, dispersed throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Roman Asia, and Bithynia,
Petrus, Apostel Jesu Christi, den Fremdlingen von der Zerstreuung von Pontus, Galatien, Kappadocien, Asien und Bithynien,
2 and who were chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the consecration of the Spirit, to learn obedience, and to be purified by the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. May blessing and peace be yours in ever increasing measure.
auserwählt nach Vorkenntnis Gottes, des Vaters, durch Heiligung des Geistes, zum Gehorsam und zur Blutbesprengung Jesu Christi: Gnade und Friede sei euch vermehrt!
3 Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has, in his great mercy, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Gepriesen sei der Gott und Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, der nach seiner großen Barmherzigkeit uns wiedergezeugt hat zu einer lebendigen Hoffnung durch die Auferstehung Jesu Christi aus den Toten,
4 given us the new life of undying hope, that promises an inheritance, imperishable, stainless, unfading, which has been reserved for you in heaven –
zu einem unverweslichen und unbefleckten und unverwelklichen Erbteil, welches in den Himmeln aufbewahrt ist für euch,
5 for you who, through faith, are being guarded by the power of God, awaiting a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last days.
die ihr durch Gottes Macht durch Glauben bewahrt werdet zur Errettung, die bereit ist, in der letzten Zeit geoffenbart zu werden;
6 At the thought of this you are full of exultation, though (if it has been necessary) you have suffered for the moment somewhat from various trials;
worin ihr frohlocket, die ihr jetzt eine kleine Zeit, wenn es nötig ist, betrübt seid durch mancherlei Versuchungen;
7 that the genuineness of your faith – a thing far more precious than gold, which is perishable, yet has to be tested by fire – may win praise and glory and honour at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
auf daß die Bewährung eures Glaubens, viel köstlicher als die des Goldes, das vergeht, aber durch Feuer erprobt wird, erfunden werde zu Lob und Herrlichkeit und Ehre in der Offenbarung Jesu Christi;
8 Though you have never seen him, yet you love him; though you do not even now see him, yet you believe in him, and exalt with a triumphant happiness too great for words,
welchen ihr, obgleich ihr ihn nicht gesehen habt, liebet; an welchen glaubend, obgleich ihr ihn jetzt nicht sehet, ihr mit unaussprechlicher und verherrlichter Freude frohlocket,
9 as you receive the reward of your faith in the salvation of your souls!
indem ihr das Ende eures Glaubens, die Errettung der Seelen, davontraget;
10 It was this salvation that the prophets, who spoke long ago of the blessing intended for you, sought, and strove to comprehend;
über welche Errettung Propheten nachsuchten und nachforschten, die von der Gnade gegen euch geweissagt haben,
11 as they strove to discern what that time could be, to which the Spirit of Christ within them was pointing, when foretelling the sufferings that Christ would have to endure, and the glories that would follow.
forschend, auf welche oder welcherlei Zeit der Geist Christi, der in ihnen war, hindeutete, als er von den Leiden, die auf Christum kommen sollten, und von den Herrlichkeiten danach zuvor zeugte;
12 And it was revealed to them that it was not for themselves, but for you, that they were acting as Ministers of the truths which have now been told to you, by those who, with the help of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, have brought you the good news – truths into which even angels long to look.
welchen es geoffenbart wurde, daß sie nicht für sich selbst, sondern für euch die Dinge bedienten, die euch jetzt verkündigt worden sind durch die, welche euch das Evangelium gepredigt haben durch den vom Himmel gesandten Heiligen Geist, in welche Dinge Engel hineinzuschauen begehren.
13 Therefore concentrate your minds, with the strictest self-control, and fix your hopes on the blessing that is coming for you at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Deshalb umgürtet die Lenden eurer Gesinnung, seid nüchtern und hoffet völlig auf die Gnade, die euch gebracht wird bei der Offenbarung Jesu Christi;
14 Be like obedient children; do not let your lives be shaped by the passions which once swayed you in the days of your ignorance,
als Kinder des Gehorsams bildet euch nicht nach den vorigen Lüsten in eurer Unwissenheit,
15 but in your whole life show yourselves to be holy, after the pattern of the Holy One from whom you received your call.
sondern wie der, welcher euch berufen hat, heilig ist, seid auch ihr heilig in allem Wandel;
16 For scripture says – “You will be holy, because I am holy.”
denn es steht geschrieben: “Seid heilig, denn ich bin heilig”.
17 And since you call on him as “Father,” who judges everyone impartially by what he has done, let respectful awe be the spirit of your lives during the time of your stay on earth.
Und wenn ihr den als Vater anrufet, der ohne Ansehen der Person richtet nach eines jeden Werk, so wandelt die Zeit eurer Fremdlingschaft in Furcht,
18 For you know that it was not by perishable things, such as silver and gold, that you were ransomed from the aimless way of living which was handed down to you from your ancestors,
indem ihr wisset, daß ihr nicht mit verweslichen Dingen, mit Silber oder Gold, erlöst worden seid von eurem eitlen, von den Vätern überlieferten Wandel,
19 but by precious blood, as it were of a lamb, unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
sondern mit dem kostbaren Blute Christi, als eines Lammes ohne Fehl und ohne Flecken;
20 Destined for this before the beginning of the world, he has been revealed in these last days for your sakes,
welcher zwar zuvorerkannt ist vor Grundlegung der Welt, aber geoffenbart worden am Ende der Zeiten um euretwillen,
21 who, through him, are faithful to God who raised him from the dead and gave him honour, so that your faith and hope are now in God.
die ihr durch ihn glaubet an Gott, der ihn aus den Toten auferweckt und ihm Herrlichkeit gegeben hat, auf daß euer Glaube und eure Hoffnung auf Gott sei.
22 Now that, by your obedience to the truth, you have purified your lives, so that there is growing up among you a genuine affection, love one another earnestly with all your hearts;
Da ihr eure Seelen gereinigt habt durch den Gehorsam gegen die Wahrheit zur ungeheuchelten Bruderliebe, so liebet einander mit Inbrunst aus reinem Herzen,
23 since your new life has come, not from perishable, but imperishable, seed, through the message of the Everliving God. (aiōn g165)
die ihr nicht wiedergeboren seid aus verweslichem Samen, sondern aus unverweslichem, durch das lebendige und bleibende Wort Gottes; (aiōn g165)
24 For – “All earthly life is but as grass, and all its splendour as the flower of grass. The grass fades, its flower falls,
denn “alles Fleisch ist wie Gras, und alle seine Herrlichkeit wie des Grases Blume. Das Gras ist verdorrt, und [seine] Blume ist abgefallen;
