< Mark 10 >

1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea [Praise] and beyond the Jordan [Descender]. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
Et exiit inde exurgens venit in fines Iudaeae ultra Iordanem: et conveniunt iterum turbae ad eum: et sicut consueverat, iterum docebat illos.
2 Pharisees [Separated] came to him testing him, and asked him, “Does the Torah ·Teaching· permit a man to divorce his wife?”
Et accedentes Pharisaei interrogabant eum: Si licet viro uxorem dimittere: tentantes eum.
3 He answered, “What did Moses [Drawn out] enjoin unto you?”
At ille respondens, dixit eis: Quid vobis praecepit Moyses?
4 They said, “Moses [Drawn out] allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”
Qui dixerunt: Moyses permisit libellum repudii scribere, et dimittere.
5 But Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
Quibus respondens Iesus, ait: Ad duritiam cordis vestri scripsit vobis praeceptum istud.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
ab initio autem creaturae masculum, et feminam fecit eos Deus.
7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
Propter hoc relinquet homo patrem suum, et matrem, et adhaerebit ad uxorem suam:
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
et erunt duo in carne una. Itaque iam non sunt duo, sed una caro.
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
Quod ergo Deus coniunxit, homo non separet.
10 In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.
Et in domo iterum discipuli eius de eodem interrogaverunt eum.
11 He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits moichao ·act of adultery· against her.
Et ait illis: Quicumque dimiserit uxorem suam, et aliam duxerit, adulterium committit super eam.
12 If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits moichao ·act of adultery·.”
Et si uxor dimiserit virum suum, et alii nupserit, moechatur.
13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
Et offerebant illi parvulos ut tangeret illos. Discipuli autem comminabantur offerentibus.
14 But when Yeshua [Salvation] saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
Quos cum videret Iesus, indigne tulit, et ait illis: Sinite parvulos venire ad me, et ne prohibueritis eos: talium enim est regnum Dei.
15 Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
Amen dico vobis: Quisquis non receperit regnum Dei velut parvulus, non intrabit in illud.
16 He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Et complexans eos, et imponens manus super illos, benedicebat eos.
17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
Et cum egressus esset in via, procurrens quidam genu flexo ante eum, rogabat eum dicens: Magister bone, quid faciam ut vitam aeternam percipiam? (aiōnios g166)
18 Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one— God’s Torah ·Teaching·.
Iesus autem dixit ei: Quid me dicis bonum: Nemo bonus, nisi unus Deus.
19 You know the mitzvot ·instructions·: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not moicheuo ·commit adultery·,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
Praecepta nosti: Ne adulteres, Ne occidas, Ne fureris, Ne falsum testimonium dixeris, Ne fraudum feceris, Honora patrem tuum et matrem.
20 He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”
At ille respondens, ait illi: Magister, haec omnia observavi a iuventute mea.
21 Looking at him, Yeshua [Salvation] felt agapao ·total devoted love· towards him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the execution-stake.”
Iesus autem intuitus eum, dilexit eum, et dixit ei: Unum tibi deest: vade, quaecumque habes vende, et da pauperibus, et habebis thesaurum in caelo: et veni, sequere me.
22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
Qui contristatus in verbo, abiit moerens: erat enim habens multas possessiones.
23 Yeshua [Salvation] looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
Et circumspiciens Iesus, ait discipulis suis: Quam difficile qui pecunias habent, in regnum Dei introibunt!
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Yeshua [Salvation] answered again, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
Discipuli autem obstupescebant in verbis eius. At Iesus rursus respondens ait illis: Filioli, quam difficile est, confidentes in pecuniis, in regnum Dei introire!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
Facilius est, camelum per foramen acus transire, quam divitem intrare in regnum Dei.
26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”
Qui magis admirabantur, dicentes ad semetipsos: Et quis potest salvus fieri?
27 Yeshua [Salvation], looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”
Et intuens illos Iesus, ait: Apud homines impossibile est, sed non apud Deum: omnia enim possibilia sunt apud Deum.
28 Peter [Rock] began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all, and have followed you.”
Et coepit ei Petrus dicere: Ecce nos dimisimus omnia, et secuti sumus te.
29 Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,
Respondens Iesus, ait: Amen dico vobis: Nemo est, qui reliquerit domum, aut fratres, aut sorores, aut patrem, aut matrem, aut filios, aut agros propter me, et propter Evangelium,
30 but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
qui non accipiat centies tantum, nunc in tempore hoc: domos, et fratres, et sorores, et matres, et filios, et agros, cum persecutionibus, et in saeculo futuro vitam aeternam. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first.”
Multi autem erunt primi novissimi, et novissimi primi.
32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem [City of peace]; and Yeshua [Salvation] was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
Erant autem in via ascendentes Ierosolymam: et praecedebat illos Iesus, et stupebant: et sequentes timebant. Et assumens iterum duodecim, coepit illis dicere quae essent ei eventura.
33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem [City of peace]. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the Torah-Teachers. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.
Quia ecce ascendimus Ierosolymam, et Filius hominis tradetur principibus sacerdotum, et Scribis, et senioribus, et damnabunt eum morte, et tradent eum gentibus:
34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
et illudent ei, et conspuent eum, et flagellabunt eum, et interficient eum: et tertia die resurget.
35 James [Surplanter] and John [Yah is gracious], the sons of Zebedee [Bestowed by Yah], came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
Et accedunt ad eum Iacobus, et Ioannes filii Zebedaei, dicentes: Magister, volumus ut quodcumque petierimus, facias nobis.
36 He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
At ille dixit eis: Quid vultis ut faciam vobis?
37 They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory.”
Et dixerunt: Da nobis ut unus ad dexteram tuam, et alius ad sinistram tuam sedeamus in gloria tua.
38 But Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
Iesus autem ait eis: Nescitis quid petatis: potestis bibere calicem, quem ego bibo: aut baptismo, quo ego baptizor, baptizari?
39 They said to him, “We are able.” Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
At illi dixerunt ei: Possumus. Iesus autem ait eis: Calicem quidem, quem ego bibo, bibetis; et baptismo, quo ego baptizor, baptizabimini:
40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
sedere autem ad dexteram meam, vel ad sinistram, non est meum dare vobis, sed quibus paratum est.
41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James [Surplanter] and John [Yah is gracious].
Et audientes decem indignati sunt de Iacobo, et Ioanne.
42 Yeshua [Salvation] summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
Iesus autem vocans eos, ait illis: Scitis quia hi, qui videntur principari gentibus, dominantur eis: et principes eorum potestatem habent ipsorum.
43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.
Non ita est autem in vobis, sed quicumque voluerit fieri maior, erit vester minister:
44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bond-servant of all.
et quicumque voluerit in vobis primus esse, erit omnium servus.
45 For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Nam et Filius hominis non venit ut ministraretur ei, sed ut ministraret, et daret animam suam redemptionem pro multis.
46 They came to Jericho [Fragrant, Moon]. As he went out from Jericho [Fragrant, Moon], with his disciples and a great multitude, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
Et veniunt Iericho: et proficiscente eo de Iericho, et discipulis eius, et plurima multitudine, filius Timaei Bartimaeus caecus, sedebat iuxta viam mendicans.
47 When he heard that it was Yeshua [Salvation] the Nazarene [person from Branch, Separated one], he began to cry out, and say, “Yeshua [Salvation], you son of David [Beloved], have mercy on me!”
Qui cum audisset quia Iesus Nazarenus est, coepit clamare, et dicere: Iesu fili David, miserere mei.
48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David [Beloved], have mercy on me!”
Et comminabantur ei multi ut taceret. At ille multo magis clamabat: Fili David miserere mei.
49 Yeshua [Salvation] stood still, and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”
Et stans Iesus praecepit illum vocari. Et vocant caecum dicentes ei: Animaequior esto: surge, vocat te.
50 He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Yeshua [Salvation].
Qui proiecto vestimento suo exiliens, venit ad eum.
51 Yeshua [Salvation] asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni ·My teacher!· I want to see again.”
Et respondens Iesus dixit illi: Quid tibi vis faciam? Caecus autem dixit ei: Rabboni, ut videam.
52 Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Go your way. Your trusting faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Yeshua [Salvation] on the way.
Iesus autem ait illi: Vade, fides tua te salvum fecit. Et confestim vidit, et sequebatur eum in via.
