Luke 17
1 He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
Jésus dit encore à ses disciples: Il est impossible qu’il n’arrive des scandales; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent!
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu’on mît autour de son cou une meule de moulin et qu’on le jetât dans la mer, que de scandaliser un de ces petits.
3 Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he makes teshuvah ·complete repentance·, forgive him.
Prenez-garde à vous: Si ton frère a péché contre toi, reprends-le; et s’il se repent, pardonne-lui.
4 If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I make teshuvah ·complete repentance·,’ you shall forgive him.”
Et s’il a péché sept fois dans le jour contre toi, et que sept fois dans le jour il revienne à toi, disant: Je me repens; pardonne-lui.
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our trusting faith.”
Et les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: Augmentez-nous la foi.
6 The Lord said, “If you had trusting faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Mais le Seigneur dit: Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce mûrier: Déracine-toi, et transplante-toi dans la mer; et il vous obéirait.
7 But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table,’
Qui de vous, ayant un serviteur attaché au labourage ou aux troupeaux, lui dit, aussitôt qu’il revient des champs: Viens vite, mets-toi à table?
8 and will not rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?
Et ne lui dit pas au contraire: Prépare-moi à souper, et ceins-toi, et me sers jusqu’à ce que j’aie mangé et bu, et après cela, tu mangeras et tu boiras?
9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.
A-t-il de l’obligation à ce serviteur, parce qu’il a fait ce qu’il lui avait commandé?
10 Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”
Non, je pense. Ainsi, vous-mêmes, quand vous aurez fait ce qui vous est commandé, dites: Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles; ce que nous avons fait, c’est ce que nous avons dû faire.
11 As he was on his way to Jerusalem [City of peace], he was passing along the borders of Samaria [Watch-mountain] and Galilee [District, Circuit].
Il arriva qu’en allant à Jérusalem, il traversait le pays de Samarie et la Galilée.
12 As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were afflicted with tzara'at ·leprosy· met him, who stood at a distance.
Et comme il entrait dans un village, il rencontra dix lépreux, qui s’arrêtèrent loin de lui;
13 They lifted up their voices, saying, “Yeshua [Salvation], Master, have mercy on us!”
Et ils élevèrent la voix, disant: Jésus, Maître, ayez pitié de nous.
14 When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were cleansed.
Dès que Jésus les vit, il dit: Allez, montrez-vous aux prêtres. Et il arriva, pendant qu’ils y allaient, qu’ils furent purifiés.
15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.
Un d’eux, se voyant purifié, revint sur ses pas, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix;
16 He fell on his face at Yeshua [Salvation]'s feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan [person from Watch-mountain].
Et il tomba sur sa face aux pieds de Jésus, lui rendant grâces; or celui-ci était Samaritain.
17 Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Alors Jésus prenant la parole, dit: Est-ce que les dix n’ont pas été purifiés? et les neuf autres, où sont-ils?
18 Were there none found who teshuvah ·completely returned· to give glory to God, except this stranger?”
Il ne s’en est point trouvé qui revînt et rendît gloire à Dieu, si ce n’est cet étranger.
19 Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way. Your trusting faith has healed you.”
Et il lui dit: Lève-toi, va, ta foi t’a sauvé.
20 Being asked by the Pharisees [Separated] when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom does not come with observation;
Interrogé par les pharisiens: Quand vient le royaume de Dieu? Leur répondant, il dit: Le royaume de Dieu ne vient point de manière à être remarqué;
21 neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
Et on ne dira point: Il est ici ou il est là. Car voici que le royaume de Dieu est au dedans de vous.
22 He said to the disciples, “The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
Il dit ensuite à ses disciples: Viendront des jours où vous désirerez voir un seul des jours du Fils de l’homme, et vous ne le verrez pas.
23 They will tell you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Don’t go away, nor follow after them,
Et on vous dira: Le voici ici et le voilà là. N’y allez point, et ne les suivez point.
24 for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.
Car, comme l’éclair qui, brillant sous un côté du ciel, lance sa lumière sur tout ce qui est sous le ciel, ainsi sera le Fils de l’homme en son jour.
25 But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Mais il faut auparavant qu’il souffre beaucoup de choses, et qu’il soit rejeté par cette génération.
26 As it was in the days of Noah [Rest], even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.
Et comme il est arrivé aux jours du Noé, ainsi en sera-t-il aussi dans les jours du Fils de l’homme.
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah [Rest] entered into the ship, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Ils mangeaient et buvaient; ils se mariaient et mariaient leurs enfants, jusqu’au jour où entra dans l’arche: et le déluge vint et il les perdit tous.
28 Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot [Veil, Covering]: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
Et comme il est arrivé encore aux jours de Lot: ils mangeaient et buvaient, ils achetaient et vendaient, ils plantaient et bâtissaient;
29 but in the day that Lot [Veil, Covering] went out from Sodom [Burning], Yahweh caused it to rain fire and sulfur from the sky, and destroyed them all.
Mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, Dieu fit pleuvoir le feu et le soufre du ciel, et il les perdit tous:
30 It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
Ainsi en sera-t-il le jour où le Fils de l’homme sera révélé.
31 In that day, he who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
En cette heure-là, que celui qui se trouvera sur le toit et dont les meubles sont dans la maison, ne descende point pour les emporter; et que celui qui est dans le champ, ne retourne point non plus en arrière.
32 Remember Lot [Veil, Covering]’s wife!
Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot.
33 Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.
Quiconque cherchera à sauver son âme, la perdra; et quiconque la perdra lui donnera la vie.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left.
Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là deux personnes seront en un lit, l’un sera pris et l’autre laissé:
35 There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken, and the other will be left.
Deux femmes moudront ensemble, l’une sera prise, et l’autre laissée; deux hommes seront dans un champ, l’un sera pris, et l’autre laissé.
36 Two will be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.”
Prenant la parole, les disciples lui dirent: Où, Seigneur?
37 They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there will the vultures also be gathered together.”
Et il répondit: Partout où sera le corps, là aussi s’assembleront les aigles.
