Luke 17
1 He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
Il dit à ses disciples: «Qu'il n'arrive pas de scandales, la chose est impossible, mais malheur à celui par qui le scandale arrive!
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui attachât au cou une meule de moulin, et qu'on le jetât à la mer, que de scandaliser un de ces petits.»
3 Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he makes teshuvah ·complete repentance·, forgive him.
«Prenez garde à vous: si ton frère a péché, reprends-le et s'il se repent, pardonne-lui.
4 If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I make teshuvah ·complete repentance·,’ you shall forgive him.”
Et s'il a péché contre toi sept fois en un jour, et que sept fois en un jour, il se tourne vers toi et te dise: «Je me repens», pardonne-lui.» —
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our trusting faith.”
«Augmente-nous la foi, dirent les apôtres au Seigneur,
6 The Lord said, “If you had trusting faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
et le Seigneur leur répondit: «Si vous aviez de la foi gros comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce sycomore «Déracine-toi, et plante-toi dans la mer», il vous obéirait.»
7 But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table,’
«Quand votre serviteur rentre des champs, après le labour ou le pâturage, lequel de vous lui dira: «Viens vite te mettre à table.»
8 and will not rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?
Ne lui dira-t-il pas au contraire: «Prépare-moi à dîner, ceins-toi, et me sers jusqu'à ce que j'aie mangé et bu; après quoi, tu mangeras et boiras toi-même.»
9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.
Et parce que ce serviteur fait ce qui lui était commandé, son maître lui doit-il quelque reconnaissance?
10 Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”
De vous, il en est de même: quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous est commandé, dites ceci: «Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles; ce que nous avons fait nous avions le devoir de le faire.»
11 As he was on his way to Jerusalem [City of peace], he was passing along the borders of Samaria [Watch-mountain] and Galilee [District, Circuit].
Dans son voyage à Jérusalem, Jésus traversa la Samarie et la Galilée.
12 As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were afflicted with tzara'at ·leprosy· met him, who stood at a distance.
Comme il arrivait à l'entrée d'un village, se présentèrent à lui dix lépreux qui, restant à une certaine distance,
13 They lifted up their voices, saying, “Yeshua [Salvation], Master, have mercy on us!”
élevèrent la voix: «Jésus! maître! dirent-ils, aie pitié de nous!»
14 When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were cleansed.
Il les vit et leur dit: «Allez vous montrer aux prêtres.» Et il arriva pendant qu'il y allaient, qu'ils furent guérie.
15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.
L'un d'entre eux, se voyant guéri, revint sur ses pas, rendant à grands cris gloire à Dieu;
16 He fell on his face at Yeshua [Salvation]'s feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan [person from Watch-mountain].
puis il se prosterna aux pieds de Jésus, la face contre terre, lui rendant grâces. C'était un Samaritain.
17 Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Alors Jésus prononça ces paroles: «Est-ce que les dix n'ont pas été guéris? Les neuf autres où sont-ils?
18 Were there none found who teshuvah ·completely returned· to give glory to God, except this stranger?”
Il ne s'en est trouvé aucun qui soit revenu pour rendre gloire à Dieu, sinon celui-ci: un étranger!»
19 Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way. Your trusting faith has healed you.”
Puis s'adressant à lui: «Lève-toi; va, ta foi t'a sauvé»
20 Being asked by the Pharisees [Separated] when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom does not come with observation;
Les Pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand viendrait le Royaume de Dieu il leur répondit ainsi: «Le Royaume de Dieu ne vient pas avec des marques extérieures.
21 neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
On ne dira pas: il est ici! ou: il est là! car sachez-le: le Royaume de Dieu est au milieu de vous.»
22 He said to the disciples, “The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
Puis il dit aux disciples: «Il viendra un temps où vous désirerez voir un des jours du Fils de l'homme, un seul, et vous ne le verrez pas.
23 They will tell you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Don’t go away, nor follow after them,
On vous dira: «Le voici!» — «le voilà!» N'y allez pas; ne le cherchez pas.
24 for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.
Tel, en effet, l'éclair resplendissant à une extrémité, du ciel brille jusqu'à l'autre, tel, en son jour, sera le Fils de l'homme.»
25 But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
«Mais il lui faut d'abord beaucoup souffrir, et être rejeté par cette génération-ci.»
26 As it was in the days of Noah [Rest], even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.
«Ainsi étaient les choses aux jours de Noé, ainsi seront-elles aux jours du Fils de l'homme.
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah [Rest] entered into the ship, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Les hommes mangeaient, buvaient, se mariaient ou mariaient leurs enfants, jusqu'au moment où Noé entra dans l'arche, et où le déluge survint et les extermina tous.
28 Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot [Veil, Covering]: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
C'est encore ce qui est arrivé aux jours de Lot: les hommes mangeaient, buvaient, achetaient, vendaient, plantaient, bâtissaient;
29 but in the day that Lot [Veil, Covering] went out from Sodom [Burning], Yahweh caused it to rain fire and sulfur from the sky, and destroyed them all.
et au moment où Lot sortit de Sodome, une pluie de feu et de soufre tomba du ciel et les extermina tous.
30 It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
Ainsi en sera-t-il le jour où le Fils de l'homme sera révélé.»
31 In that day, he who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
«Que celui qui sera, ce jour-là, sur le toit, et qui aura quelque objet dans la maison, ne descende pas pour l'emporter. Que celui qui sera aux champs fasse de même et ne revienne pas sur ses pas.
32 Remember Lot [Veil, Covering]’s wife!
Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot!»
33 Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.
«Qui cherchera à sauver sa vie la perdra, et qui la perdra, la rendra vraiment vivante.»
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left.
«Cette nuit-là, je vous le déclare, de deux hommes qui seront dans un lit, l'un sera pris, et l'autre laissé.
35 There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken, and the other will be left.
De deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l'une sera prise, et l'autre laissée.» -
36 Two will be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.”
(De deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l’un sera pris et l’autre laissé).
37 They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there will the vultures also be gathered together.”
- «Où sera-ce Seigneur?» demandèrent les disciples. Il leur répondit: «Où sera le corps, là aussi les vautours se rassembleront.»
