< Song of Solomon 7 >

1 [[Lov.]] How beautiful are thy feet in sandals, O prince's daughter! The roundings of thy hips are like neck ornaments, The work of the hands of the artificer;
How beautiful your feet appear in your sandals, prince's daughter! The curves of your thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a master craftsman.
2 Thy navel is like a round goblet, that wanteth not the spiced wine; Thy belly like a heap of wheat, inclosed with lilies;
Your navel is like a round bowl; may it never lack mixed wine. Your belly is like a mound of wheat encircled with lilies.
3 Thy two breasts are like two young twin gazelles;
Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle.
4 Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; Thine eyes are like the pools at Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rabbim; Thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon, which looketh toward Damascus;
Your neck is like a tower of ivory; your eyes are the pools in Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim. Your nose is like the tower in Lebanon that looks toward Damascus.
5 Thy head upon thee is like Carmel, And the hair of thy head like purple; The king is captivated by thy locks.
Your head is on you like Carmel; the hair on your head is dark purple. The king is held captive by its tresses.
6 How fair, how pleasant art thou, love, in delights!
How beautiful and how lovely you are, my love, with delights!
7 This thy stature is like the palm-tree, And thy breasts like clusters of dates.
Your height is like that of a date palm tree, and your breasts like clusters of fruit.
8 I will go up, say I to myself, upon the palm-tree; I will take hold of its boughs, And thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, And the fragrance of thy nose like apples,
I said, “I want to climb that palm tree; I will take hold of its branches.” May your breasts be like clusters of grapes, and may the fragrance of your nose be like apricots.
9 And thy mouth like the best wine— [[M.]] — that goeth down smoothly for my beloved, Flowing over the lips of them that sleep.
May your palate be like the best wine, flowing smoothly for my beloved, gliding over the lips of those who sleep.
10 I am my beloved's, And his desire is toward me.
I am my beloved's, and he desires me.
11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the country; Let us lodge in the villages!
Come, my beloved, let us go out into the countryside; let us spend the night in the villages.
12 Then will we go early to the vineyards, To see whether the vine putteth forth, Whether its blossom openeth, And the pomegranates bud forth; There will I give thee my love!
Let us rise early to go to the vineyards; let us see whether the vines have budded, whether their blossoms have opened, and whether the pomegranates are in flower. There I will give you my love.
13 The love-apples give forth fragrance; And at our doors are all kinds of precious fruits, new and old: I have kept them for thee, my beloved!
The mandrakes give off their fragrance; at the door where we are staying are all sorts of choice fruits, new and old, that I have stored up for you, my beloved.
