< Romans 3 >

1 What then is the advantage of the Jew? or what the benefit of circumcision?
2 Great, every way. In the first place, because they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
Tebꞌe! Dadꞌi atahori Yahudi, hambu hahambuꞌ sia dalaꞌ naeꞌ. Kaesan, huu Lamatualain fee ue-taos neu atahori Yahudi fo suraꞌ ma ranea maꞌabebesa Eni Dedꞌea-oꞌolan.
3 For what? If some were unfaithful, shall their unfaithfulness make God unfaithful?
De taꞌo bee? Mbei ma hei duꞌa mae, Lamatuaꞌ nda bisa tao tungga oꞌolan sa, huu atahori Yahudi ruma nda ramahere E sa, do?
4 Far be it! yea, let God be true, and every man a liar; as it is written, “That thou mayst be justified in thy words, and mayst overcome when thou art arraigned.”
5 But if our unrighteousness serve to display the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicteth punishment? (I am speaking as men do.)
Te mete ma hita tao salaꞌ, ma salaꞌ naa natudꞌu meu-meu neu basa atahori oi, saa fo Lamatuaꞌ taoꞌ naa, memaꞌ tebꞌe. Mete ma taꞌo naa, na hita tae saa fai? Tae Lamatuaꞌ nda ndoo-tetuꞌ sa, mete ma Ana huku-doki hita, do? (Huu hambu atahori ruma olaꞌ taꞌo naa.)
6 Far be it! For then how shall God judge the world?
Nda bisa sa! Lamatuaꞌ huku-doki hita o nda sala sa. Huu naꞌena hak fo huku-doki atahori mana tao salaꞌ sia raefafoꞌ ia.
7 For if, through my being false, the truth of God hath been more abundantly manifested to his glory, why am I still judged as a sinner?
Naa! Mete ma au lelekoꞌ, naa natudꞌu nae, Lamatuaꞌ huku-dokin naa, ndaa. Mete ma au utudꞌu manaselin taꞌo naa, na, saa de Ana paresaꞌ masodꞌa ngga, ma naꞌetuꞌ dedꞌeꞌat ngga nae, saa fo au taoꞌ naa sala?
8 And why do you not say, as some slanderously charge us with saying, Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of such men is just.
Afiꞌ taꞌo naa! Mete ma mae tungga dudꞌuꞌat onaꞌ naa, hei tungga atahori mana rae, “Hela fo ata tao deꞌulakaꞌ naen seli, naa fo maloleꞌ a o boe namanae!” Atahori mana olaꞌ taꞌo naa, nandaa hambu huku-dokiꞌ. Te hambu atahori ruma olaꞌ ralutu nara ngga oi, au unori atahori taꞌo naa.
9 What then? Are we better than others? By no means! For we have already brought a charge both against Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.
Dadꞌi taꞌo bee? Hei duꞌa mae hita atahori Yahudi ra maloleꞌ lenaꞌ atahori nda Yahudi ra sa, do? Nda bisa taꞌo naa sa! Te au utudꞌu hei ena ae, basa atahori tudꞌa salaꞌ, mae eni atahori Yahudi, do atahori nda Yahudi sa.
10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
Huu nenesuraꞌ sia Lamatuaꞌ Susura Meumaren oi, “Nda hambu atahori esa sa boe nasodꞌa no ndoo-tetuꞌ nakandooꞌ a sa, Nda esa sa boe!
11 there is none that hath understanding, there is none that diligently seeketh God;
Nda hambu atahori esa sa boe nahine tebꞌe soꞌal Lamatuaꞌ. Nda hambu esa sangga nae nahine Lamatuaꞌ sa.
12 they have all turned aside from the right way, they have become worthless together; there is none that doeth good, not even one.
Basa se lao dinggoꞌ hela dala masodꞌa ndoo-tetuꞌ a. Ma, ara nda dadꞌi papakeꞌ sa ena. Nda hambu atahori esa sa boe natudꞌu rala maloleꞌ sa. Nda esa sa boe!
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have practised deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips.
Dedꞌea-oꞌola nara, maꞌafo mburu, onaꞌ rates fo atahori ali baliꞌ. Bafa nara rahineꞌ a olaꞌ peko-lelekoꞌ. Dedꞌea-oꞌola mana kalua mia bafa nara, ona mengge a rason.
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
Bafa nara rahineꞌ a rarai-oole atahori, ma olaꞌ raꞌamuti fo tao atahori rala nara mera, te naa mana kalua mia rala deꞌulaka nara.
15 Swift are their feet to shed blood;
Ara nda ramatau tao risa atahori sa.
16 destruction and misery are in their ways;
Ara bee reu, na, hiiꞌ a ramue-raanggi sia naa, ma tao sususaꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ neu atahori.
17 and the way of peace they know not.
Ara rasodꞌa nda rahine mole-dꞌame sa, ma nda rahine rasodꞌa nee-nee lino-lino sa.
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Ara nda raꞌatataaꞌ rala ao nara sa, huu nda ramatau Lamatuaꞌ mbei sa boe.”
19 Now we know that whatever the Law saith, it saith to those who are under the Law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world become subject to condemnation before God.
Naa! Hita tahine tae, Lamatuaꞌ fee Hohoro-lalanen neu atahori mana tungga neu Hohoro-lalaneꞌ naa ra. Dei fo basa atahori sia raefafoꞌ ia, musi reu randaa ro Lamatualain fo Ana naꞌetu dedꞌea nara nae, ara sala, do hokoꞌ.
20 Because by works of the Law no flesh shall be accepted as righteous: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.
Huu Lamatuaꞌ Hohoro-lalanen natudꞌu oi, basa hita tao salaꞌ.
21 But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness which is of God, to which the Law and the Prophets bear testimony,
Afiꞌ bingun soꞌal Lamatuaꞌ dudꞌuꞌan mana natudꞌu dalaꞌ fo hita malolole baliꞌ to E. Matetun, hita bisa malolole to E, te ndaa huu hita tao tungga Hohoro-lalanen sa.
22 even the righteousness which is of God through faith in Jesus Christ, hath been made manifest to all and for all believers. For there is no distinction.
Lamatualain nae hita atahori rala ndoos ma maloleꞌ to Eni leleꞌ hita tamahere neu Yesus Kristus.
23 For all have sinned, and fail of obtaining the glory which cometh from God;
Huu basa atahori tao salaꞌ. Naa de atahori mana sobꞌa-sobꞌa tao aon maloleꞌ no Lamatuaꞌ, nda bisa tao matetuꞌ tungga Lamatuaꞌ atoran manaselin sa.
24 being accepted as righteous freely, by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Ana simbo nala hita onaꞌ naa, huu Yesus Kristus tefa-soi nala hita mia sala-kilu tara ena.
25 whom, in his blood, through faith, God hath set forth as a propitiatory sacrifice, in order to manifest his righteousness, on account of his passing by, in his forbearance, the sins committed in former times;
Lamatualain dudꞌu nala Yesus dadꞌi tutunu-hohotuꞌ fo tatana mamaet ma tefa-soi hita sala nara. Te hita musi tamahere E tae, Ana simbo huku-doki tara. De Ana fee raan nandali, ma mate nggati hita. No taꞌo naa, Lamatualain natudꞌu nae, saa fo Eni naꞌetuꞌ naa, tebꞌe. Dadꞌi Ana soi dalaꞌ fo Yesus Kristus lemba-doi hita atahori masalaꞌ ra huku-doki tara. Ia naa, Ana natudꞌu neu basa atahori nae, Eni tao maloleꞌ nakandooꞌ a. Boe ma, basa atahori masalaꞌ, mana ramahere neu Yesus, Ana naꞌetuꞌ fo cap se onaꞌ atahori rala ndoos.
26 in order to manifest his righteousness at the present time, so that he may be righteous, and accept as righteous him who hath faith.
27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay; but by the law of faith.
De taꞌo bee? Mbei ma hei duꞌa mae hei bisa olaꞌ naeꞌ, huu Lamatuaꞌ simbo nggi ena, do? Nda bisa sa! Nau netudꞌu Hohoro-lalaneꞌ saa mana tao nggi maloleꞌ mo Lamatuaꞌ, do? Hai bisa mitudꞌuꞌ a Hohoro-lalaneꞌ mana oi, Lamatualain simbo nala nggita, huu tamahere neu Yesus. Akaꞌ naa ena!
28 We conclude therefore, that a man is accepted as righteous through faith, without the works of the Law.
Naa de ia naa hita tahine taꞌo ia ena: atahori bisa maloleꞌ ro Lamatuaꞌ huu ramahere E, te nda huu akaꞌ sira tao tungga Eni Hohoro-lalanen sa.
29 Or is God [[the God]] of Jews alone? Is he not also the God of gentiles? Yea, of gentiles also.
Naa, au ae utane taꞌo ia: Lamatualain simbo akaꞌ atahori Yahudi ra do, Ana simbo atahori feaꞌ ra boe? Tebꞌe! Ana simbo basa se!
30 Seeing there is but one God, who will accept the circumcised as righteous by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
Huu Lamatualain naa, esaꞌ a. Ma akaꞌ dalaꞌ esa fo Ana simbo, fo hita atahori bisa maloleꞌ to E. Naeni, huu tamahere neu Kristus. Dalaꞌ naa, fee neu atahori Yahudi ma atahori nda Yahudi ra sa boe.
31 Do we then make void the Law through faith? Far be it! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
Dadꞌi au ae utane taꞌo ia: mete ma tamahere neu Lamatuaꞌ, naa nemopoꞌ hendi Hohoro-lalanen, do? Hokoꞌ! Matetun, naa tao natetu Hohoro-lalanen.
