Luke 22
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the passover, was drawing near;
Đã gần đến ngày Lễ Bánh Không Men, gọi là lễ Vượt Qua.
2 and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
Các thầy trưởng tế và thầy dạy luật tìm cách giết Chúa Giê-xu, nhưng họ sợ dân chúng nổi loạn.
3 And Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve.
Quỷ Sa-tan nhập vào Giu-đa Ích-ca-ri-ốt, là một trong mười hai sứ đồ.
4 And he went away, and consulted with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him up to them.
Giu-đa tìm gặp các thầy trưởng tế và các viên chỉ huy lính gác Đền Thờ để bàn cách tốt nhất nộp Chúa Giê-xu cho họ.
5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
Họ mừng lắm, hứa sẽ thưởng tiền.
6 And he agreed with them, and sought a good opportunity to deliver him up to them in the absence of the multitude.
Từ đó, Giu-đa tìm cơ hội nộp Chúa lúc không có dân chúng ở gần Ngài.
7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed;
Đến ngày Lễ Bánh Không Men, người Do Thái giết chiên con để ăn với bánh không men.
8 and he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat it.
Chúa Giê-xu sai Phi-e-rơ và Giăng đi trước và phán: “Hãy đi và chuẩn bị bữa tiệc cho chúng ta.”
9 And they said to him, Where wilt thou that we make it ready?
Họ hỏi Chúa: “Thưa Thầy, chúng con sẽ dọn tiệc tại đâu?”
10 And he said to them, Lo! when ye have entered the city, there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goeth in;
Chúa đáp: “Vừa khi vào Giê-ru-sa-lem, các con sẽ gặp một người xách vò nước. Người ấy vào nhà nào, các con cứ theo vào,
11 and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
nói với chủ nhà: ‘Thầy hỏi: Phòng khách dành riêng cho Ta và các môn đệ ăn lễ Vượt Qua ở đâu?’
12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready.
Chủ nhà sẽ chỉ cho các con một phòng rộng trên lầu đầy đủ tiện nghi. Các con hãy dọn tiệc tại đó.”
13 And they went and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover.
Họ ra đi gặp mọi điều đúng như lời Chúa dạy và họ chuẩn bị bữa ăn lễ Vượt Qua ở đó.
14 And when the hour had come, he placed himself at table, and the apostles with him.
Đến giờ dự lễ, Chúa Giê-xu ngồi ăn với các sứ đồ.
15 And he said to them, Earnestly have I desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer.
Chúa Giê-xu phán: “Ta rất muốn dự lễ Vượt Qua này với các con trước khi chịu thống khổ.
16 For I say to you, that I shall eat it no more, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Ta cho các con biết: Ta sẽ không dự tiệc này nữa cho đến khi mục đích bữa tiệc được hoàn thành trong Nước của Đức Chúa Trời.”
17 And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves.
Chúa lấy chén nước nho tạ ơn Đức Chúa Trời và phán: “Các con cầm chén này chia nhau uống đi.
18 For I say to you, that I shall not drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall have come.
Vì từ nay, Ta sẽ không uống nước nho này nữa cho đến khi Nước của Đức Chúa Trời được thể hiện.”
19 And he took a loaf, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me.
Ngài lấy bánh, tạ ơn Đức Chúa Trời, bẻ ra trao cho các môn đệ: “Đây là thân thể Ta, vì các con mà hy sinh. Hãy ăn để tưởng niệm Ta.”
20 And in like manner he took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is about to be shed for you.
Cũng thế, sau bữa ăn, Chúa cầm chén nước nho và bảo: “Chén này là giao ước mới giữa Đức Chúa Trời và nhân loại, ấn chứng bằng máu Ta, máu phải đổ ra vì các con.
21 But lo! the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
Nhưng tại bàn này, kẻ phản Ta đang ngồi ăn chung với Ta.
22 For the Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been determined; but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.
Con Người phải hy sinh đúng theo chương trình Đức Chúa Trời, nhưng khốn cho kẻ phản Ngài!”
23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that was about to do this.
Các môn đệ hỏi nhau ai là người phản Chúa.
24 And there arose also a contention among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
Rồi họ bắt đầu tranh luận với nhau xem ai cao trọng nhất giữa vòng họ.
25 And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule as lords over them, and they who exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
Chúa Giê-xu dạy: “Vua chúa các dân tộc nước ngoài cai trị tàn ác; người áp bức dân chúng lại được gọi là ân nhân.
26 But it is not to be so with you; but let the greatest among you be as the youngest; and he that is chief, as he that serveth.
Nhưng giữa các con, ai muốn làm lớn phải chịu phận nhỏ, ai muốn lãnh đạo phải làm đầy tớ.
27 For which is greater? he who reclineth at the table, or he who serveth? Is not he that reclineth at the table? But I am in the midst of you as he who serveth.
Ai lớn hơn? Người ngồi ở bàn ăn và người phục vụ? Nhưng Ta ở giữa các con như người phục vụ vậy.
28 Ye however are they who have continued steadfastly with me in my trials.
Vì các con trung thành với Ta trong những ngày thử thách
29 And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father appointed to me;
và vì Cha đã ủy quyền cai trị cho Ta, nên Ta cũng cho các con quyền đó.
30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Các con sẽ được ăn uống chung bàn với Ta trong Nước Ta và ngồi trên ngai xét xử mười hai đại tộc Ít-ra-ên.”
31 Simon, Simon, lo! Satan hath asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
“Si-môn, Si-môn, Sa-tan đã xin phép thử thách con như người ta sàng sảy lúa.
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not. And do thou, when thou hast returned to me, strengthen thy brethren.
Nhưng Ta đã cầu nguyện cho con khỏi thiếu đức tin. Sau khi con ăn năn, hãy gây dựng đức tin cho anh chị em con!”
33 And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death.
Phi-e-rơ đáp: “Thưa Chúa, con sẵn sàng ngồi tù, chịu chết với Thầy!”
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, a cock will not crow this day, till thou hast thrice denied that thou knowest me.
Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu phán: “Phi-e-rơ ơi, Ta cho con biết, trước khi gà gáy đêm nay, con sẽ chối Ta ba lần.”
35 And he said to them, When I sent you without purse, or bag, or sandals, were ye in need of anything? And they said, Of nothing. Then he said to them,
Chúa Giê-xu hỏi các môn đệ: “Khi Ta sai các con đi truyền giáo, không mang theo tiền bạc, túi bao hay giày dép, các con có thiếu thốn gì không?” Họ đáp: “Thưa không!”
36 But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag; and he that hath not, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword.
Chúa tiếp: “Nhưng bây giờ lại khác. Ai có tiền bạc hay túi bao, cứ mang theo. Ai không có gươm, nên bán áo choàng mà mua.
37 For I say to you, that this which is written must be accomplished in me: “And he was reckoned among transgressors.” For that which concerneth me also hath an end.
Vì lời tiên tri này sắp ứng nghiệm: ‘Người sẽ bị kể vào hàng phạm nhân.’ Phải, các lời tiên tri nói về Ta đều sẽ ứng nghiệm.”
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said to him, It is enough!
Các môn đệ đáp: “Thưa Thầy, chúng con có hai thanh gươm đây.” Chúa đáp: “Đủ rồi.”
39 And going out, he went, as he was wont, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him.
Rời phòng tiệc, Chúa Giê-xu lên núi Ô-liu như thường lệ. Các môn đệ đi theo Ngài.
40 And when he was at the place, he said to them, Pray that ye may not enter into temptation.
Đến nơi, Ngài nói với họ: “Các con phải cầu nguyện để khỏi bị cám dỗ.”
41 And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw; and kneeling down he prayed,
Rồi Chúa đi, quãng chừng ném một viên đá, và quỳ xuống cầu nguyện:
42 saying, Father, if thou art willing to remove this cup from me—yet not my will, but thine be done!
“Thưa Cha, nếu Cha vui lòng, xin cho Con khỏi uống chén này. Nhưng xin ý Cha được thực hiện, chứ không theo ý Con.”
43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
Lúc ấy, một thiên sứ đến thêm sức cho Ngài.
44 And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly. And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground.
Trong lúc đau đớn thống khổ, Chúa cầu nguyện càng tha thiết, mồ hôi toát ra như những giọt máu nhỏ xuống đất.
45 And rising up from prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
Cầu nguyện xong, Chúa đứng lên, trở lại với các môn đệ, thấy họ đang ngủ vì quá buồn rầu.
46 and said to them, Why sleep ye? Rise, and pray that ye may not enter into temptation.
Chúa gọi: “Sao các con ngủ? Hãy thức dậy cầu nguyện để khỏi bị cám dỗ.”
47 While he was yet speaking, lo! a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, was at the head of them; and he drew near to Jesus to kiss him.
Nhưng khi Chúa Giê-xu còn đang nói, một đám đông kéo tới, do Giu-đa, một trong mười hai sứ đồ dẫn đường. Giu-đa trân tráo tới gần hôn Chúa Giê-xu.
48 But Jesus said to him, Judas, dost thou betray the Son of man with a kiss?
Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu trách: “Giu-đa, con lấy cái hôn để phản Con Người sao?”
49 And they who were about him, seeing what would follow, said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
Các môn đệ thấy việc xảy ra, liền hỏi: “Thưa Chúa, chúng con nên cầm gươm chiến đấu không?”
50 And one of them smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear.
Một môn đệ vung gươm chém đứt vành tai phải của đầy tớ thầy thượng tế.
51 But Jesus answering said, Permit thus far; and touched his ear, and healed him.
Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu ngăn lại: “Đừng đánh chém nữa.” Rồi Ngài đặt tay chữa lành tai người đầy tớ.
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders who had come to him, Ye have come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs;
Chúa Giê-xu hỏi các thầy trưởng tế, các viên chỉ huy lính gác Đền Thờ và các trưởng lão: “Ta đâu phải trộm cướp mà các ông cầm gươm dao, gậy gộc đến bắt?
53 when I was daily with you in the temple, ye did not put forth your hands against me; but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
Hằng ngày Ta vẫn ở với các ông trong Đền Thờ, sao các ông không bắt Ta? Nhưng nay đã đến giờ của các ông, giờ của quyền lực tối tăm.”
54 And they seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the house of the high-priest. And Peter followed afar off.
Vậy họ bắt Chúa giải đến dinh thầy thượng tế. Phi-e-rơ theo sau Chúa xa xa.
55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
Bọn lính nhóm một đống lửa ngoài sân rồi ngồi lại sưởi, Phi-e-rơ len vào ngồi với họ.
56 But a certain maid-servant saw him sitting at the fire, and steadily looking at him said, This man also was with him.
Một đầy tớ gái thấy ông bên đống lửa liền nhìn mặt: “Anh này là một trong nhóm người theo Giê-xu!”
57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I do not know him.
Nhưng Phi-e-rơ chối: “Chị ơi, tôi không biết ông ấy đâu!”
58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
Một lúc sau, người khác thấy Phi-e-rơ liền nói: “Anh cũng thuộc bọn đó!” Phi-e-rơ cãi: “Không phải đâu!”
59 And in about one hour's time, another confidently affirmed, saying, In truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilaean.
Chừng một giờ sau, người khác nữa quả quyết: “Đúng rồi! Anh này là một trong số họ, vì cũng là người Ga-li-lê!”
60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, a cock crew.
Nhưng Phi-e-rơ lại chối: “Ông ơi, tôi không hiểu ông nói gì hết!” Ngay lúc ấy, có tiếng gà gáy.
61 And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, that he had said to him, Before a cock crows this day, thou wilt thrice deny me.
Chúa quay lại nhìn Phi-e-rơ. Chợt nhớ lời Chúa: “Trước khi gà gáy đêm nay, con sẽ chối Ta ba lần.”
62 And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Phi-e-rơ bước ra ngoài khóc lóc đắng cay.
63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him;
Bọn người canh giữ Chúa Giê-xu bắt đầu chế giễu, đánh đập Ngài.
64 and having blindfolded him, they asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?
Chúng bịt mắt, đấm Ngài rồi hỏi: “Thử đoán xem ai vừa đánh anh đó?”
65 And many other things did they scoffingly say against him.
Chúng sỉ nhục Ngài đủ điều.
66 And when it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together, and brought him before their council, saying,
Sáng sớm hôm sau, hội đồng được triệu tập, gồm các trưởng lão, các thầy trưởng tế, và các thầy dạy luật. Chúa Giê-xu bị giải ra trước hội đồng, rồi họ chất vấn:
67 If thou art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not believe;
“Hãy cho chúng tôi biết, anh có phải là Đấng Mết-si-a không?” Chúa đáp: “Dù Ta nói, các ông cũng không tin.
68 and if I ask, ye will not answer.
Và nếu Ta hỏi, các ông cũng không trả lời.
69 But from this time the Son of man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.
Nhưng từ nay, Con Người sẽ ngồi bên phải ngai quyền năng của Đức Chúa Trời.”
70 Then they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said to them, Ye say what is true; for I am.
Cả Hội đồng đều hỏi: “Vậy anh là Con Đức Chúa Trời sao?” Chúa đáp: “Chính các ông đã nói vậy!”
71 And they said, What further need have we of testimony? For we have ourselves heard from his own mouth.
Họ bảo nhau: “Chúng ta cần gì nhân chứng nữa, vì chính miệng nó đã khai ra rồi!”
