Luke 22
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the passover, was drawing near;
さて、過越といわれている除酵祭が近づいた。
2 and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
祭司長たちや律法学者たちは、どうかしてイエスを殺そうと計っていた。民衆を恐れていたからである。
3 And Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve.
そのとき、十二弟子のひとりで、イスカリオテと呼ばれていたユダに、サタンがはいった。
4 And he went away, and consulted with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him up to them.
すなわち、彼は祭司長たちや宮守がしらたちのところへ行って、どうしてイエスを彼らに渡そうかと、その方法について協議した。
5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
彼らは喜んで、ユダに金を与える取決めをした。
6 And he agreed with them, and sought a good opportunity to deliver him up to them in the absence of the multitude.
ユダはそれを承諾した。そして、群衆のいないときにイエスを引き渡そうと、機会をねらっていた。
7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed;
さて、過越の小羊をほふるべき除酵祭の日がきたので、
8 and he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat it.
イエスはペテロとヨハネとを使いに出して言われた、「行って、過越の食事ができるように準備をしなさい」。
9 And they said to him, Where wilt thou that we make it ready?
彼らは言った、「どこに準備をしたらよいのですか」。
10 And he said to them, Lo! when ye have entered the city, there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goeth in;
イエスは言われた、「市内にはいったら、水がめを持っている男に出会うであろう。その人がはいる家までついて行って、
11 and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
その家の主人に言いなさい、『弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をする座敷はどこか、と先生が言っておられます』。
12 And he will show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready.
すると、その主人は席の整えられた二階の広間を見せてくれるから、そこに用意をしなさい」。
13 And they went and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover.
弟子たちは出て行ってみると、イエスが言われたとおりであったので、過越の食事の用意をした。
14 And when the hour had come, he placed himself at table, and the apostles with him.
時間になったので、イエスは食卓につかれ、使徒たちも共に席についた。
15 And he said to them, Earnestly have I desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer.
イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしは苦しみを受ける前に、あなたがたとこの過越の食事をしようと、切に望んでいた。
16 For I say to you, that I shall eat it no more, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
あなたがたに言って置くが、神の国で過越が成就する時までは、わたしは二度と、この過越の食事をすることはない」。
17 And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves.
そして杯を取り、感謝して言われた、「これを取って、互に分けて飲め。
18 For I say to you, that I shall not drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall have come.
あなたがたに言っておくが、今からのち神の国が来るまでは、わたしはぶどうの実から造ったものを、いっさい飲まない」。
19 And he took a loaf, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me.
またパンを取り、感謝してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「これは、あなたがたのために与えるわたしのからだである。わたしを記念するため、このように行いなさい」。
20 And in like manner he took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is about to be shed for you.
食事ののち、杯も同じ様にして言われた、「この杯は、あなたがたのために流すわたしの血で立てられる新しい契約である。
21 But lo! the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
しかし、そこに、わたしを裏切る者が、わたしと一緒に食卓に手を置いている。
22 For the Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been determined; but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.
人の子は定められたとおりに、去って行く。しかし人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである」。
23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that was about to do this.
弟子たちは、自分たちのうちのだれが、そんな事をしようとしているのだろうと、互に論じはじめた。
24 And there arose also a contention among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
それから、自分たちの中でだれがいちばん偉いだろうかと言って、争論が彼らの間に、起った。
25 And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule as lords over them, and they who exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
そこでイエスが言われた、「異邦の王たちはその民の上に君臨し、また、権力をふるっている者たちは恩人と呼ばれる。
26 But it is not to be so with you; but let the greatest among you be as the youngest; and he that is chief, as he that serveth.
しかし、あなたがたは、そうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの中でいちばん偉い人はいちばん若い者のように、指導する人は仕える者のようになるべきである。
27 For which is greater? he who reclineth at the table, or he who serveth? Is not he that reclineth at the table? But I am in the midst of you as he who serveth.
食卓につく人と給仕する者と、どちらが偉いのか。食卓につく人の方ではないか。しかし、わたしはあなたがたの中で、給仕をする者のようにしている。
28 Ye however are they who have continued steadfastly with me in my trials.
あなたがたは、わたしの試錬のあいだ、わたしと一緒に最後まで忍んでくれた人たちである。
29 And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father appointed to me;
それで、わたしの父が国の支配をわたしにゆだねてくださったように、わたしもそれをあなたがたにゆだね、
30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
わたしの国で食卓について飲み食いをさせ、また位に座してイスラエルの十二の部族をさばかせるであろう。
31 Simon, Simon, lo! Satan hath asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
シモン、シモン、見よ、サタンはあなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って許された。
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not. And do thou, when thou hast returned to me, strengthen thy brethren.
しかし、わたしはあなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈った。それで、あなたが立ち直ったときには、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい」。
33 And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death.
シモンが言った、「主よ、わたしは獄にでも、また死に至るまでも、あなたとご一緒に行く覚悟です」。
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, a cock will not crow this day, till thou hast thrice denied that thou knowest me.
するとイエスが言われた、「ペテロよ、あなたに言っておく。きょう、鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは三度わたしを知らないと言うだろう」。
35 And he said to them, When I sent you without purse, or bag, or sandals, were ye in need of anything? And they said, Of nothing. Then he said to them,
そして彼らに言われた、「わたしが財布も袋もくつも持たせずにあなたがたをつかわしたとき、何かこまったことがあったか」。彼らは、「いいえ、何もありませんでした」と答えた。
36 But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag; and he that hath not, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword.
そこで言われた、「しかし今は、財布のあるものは、それを持って行け。袋も同様に持って行け。また、つるぎのない者は、自分の上着を売って、それを買うがよい。
37 For I say to you, that this which is written must be accomplished in me: “And he was reckoned among transgressors.” For that which concerneth me also hath an end.
あなたがたに言うが、『彼は罪人のひとりに数えられた』としるしてあることは、わたしの身に成しとげられねばならない。そうだ、わたしに係わることは成就している」。
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said to him, It is enough!
弟子たちが言った、「主よ、ごらんなさい、ここにつるぎが二振りございます」。イエスは言われた、「それでよい」。
39 And going out, he went, as he was wont, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him.
イエスは出て、いつものようにオリブ山に行かれると、弟子たちも従って行った。
40 And when he was at the place, he said to them, Pray that ye may not enter into temptation.
いつもの場所に着いてから、彼らに言われた、「誘惑に陥らないように祈りなさい」。
41 And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw; and kneeling down he prayed,
そしてご自分は、石を投げてとどくほど離れたところへ退き、ひざまずいて、祈って言われた、
42 saying, Father, if thou art willing to remove this cup from me—yet not my will, but thine be done!
「父よ、みこころならば、どうぞ、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの思いではなく、みこころが成るようにしてください」。
43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
そのとき、御使が天からあらわれてイエスを力づけた。
44 And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly. And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground.
イエスは苦しみもだえて、ますます切に祈られた。そして、その汗が血のしたたりのように地に落ちた。
45 And rising up from prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
祈を終えて立ちあがり、弟子たちのところへ行かれると、彼らが悲しみのはて寝入っているのをごらんになって
46 and said to them, Why sleep ye? Rise, and pray that ye may not enter into temptation.
言われた、「なぜ眠っているのか。誘惑に陥らないように、起きて祈っていなさい」。
47 While he was yet speaking, lo! a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, was at the head of them; and he drew near to Jesus to kiss him.
イエスがまだそう言っておられるうちに、そこに群衆が現れ、十二弟子のひとりでユダという者が先頭に立って、イエスに接吻しようとして近づいてきた。
48 But Jesus said to him, Judas, dost thou betray the Son of man with a kiss?
そこでイエスは言われた、「ユダ、あなたは接吻をもって人の子を裏切るのか」。
49 And they who were about him, seeing what would follow, said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
イエスのそばにいた人たちは、事のなりゆきを見て、「主よ、つるぎで切りつけてやりましょうか」と言って、
50 And one of them smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear.
そのうちのひとりが、祭司長の僕に切りつけ、その右の耳を切り落した。
51 But Jesus answering said, Permit thus far; and touched his ear, and healed him.
イエスはこれに対して言われた、「それだけでやめなさい」。そして、その僕の耳に手を触て、おいやしになった。
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders who had come to him, Ye have come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs;
それから、自分にむかって来る祭司長、宮守がしら、長老たちに対して言われた、「あなたがたは、強盗にむかうように剣や棒を持って出てきたのか。
53 when I was daily with you in the temple, ye did not put forth your hands against me; but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
毎日あなたがたと一緒に宮にいた時には、わたしに手をかけなかった。だが、今はあなたがたの時、また、やみの支配の時である」。
54 And they seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the house of the high-priest. And Peter followed afar off.
それから人々はイエスを捕え、ひっぱって大祭司の邸宅へつれて行った。ペテロは遠くからついて行った。
55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
人々は中庭のまん中に火をたいて、一緒にすわっていたので、ペテロもその中にすわった。
56 But a certain maid-servant saw him sitting at the fire, and steadily looking at him said, This man also was with him.
すると、ある女中が、彼が火のそばにすわっているのを見、彼を見つめて、「この人もイエスと一緒にいました」と言った。
57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I do not know him.
ペテロはそれを打ち消して、「わたしはその人を知らない」と言った。
58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
しばらくして、ほかの人がペテロを見て言った、「あなたもあの仲間のひとりだ」。するとペテロは言った、「いや、それはちがう」。
59 And in about one hour's time, another confidently affirmed, saying, In truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilaean.
約一時間たってから、またほかの者が言い張った、「たしかにこの人もイエスと一緒だった。この人もガリラヤ人なのだから」。
60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, a cock crew.
ペテロは言った、「あなたの言っていることは、わたしにわからない」。すると、彼がまだ言い終らぬうちに、たちまち、鶏が鳴いた。
61 And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, that he had said to him, Before a cock crows this day, thou wilt thrice deny me.
主は振りむいてペテロを見つめられた。そのときペテロは、「きょう、鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われた主のお言葉を思い出した。
62 And he went out, and wept bitterly.
そして外へ出て、激しく泣いた。
63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him;
イエスを監視していた人たちは、イエスを嘲弄し、打ちたたき、
64 and having blindfolded him, they asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?
目かくしをして、「言いあててみよ。打ったのは、だれか」ときいたりした。
65 And many other things did they scoffingly say against him.
そのほか、いろいろな事を言って、イエスを愚弄した。
66 And when it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together, and brought him before their council, saying,
夜が明けたとき、人民の長老、祭司長たち、律法学者たちが集まり、イエスを議会に引き出して言った、
67 If thou art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not believe;
「あなたがキリストなら、そう言ってもらいたい」。イエスは言われた、「わたしが言っても、あなたがたは信じないだろう。
68 and if I ask, ye will not answer.
また、わたしがたずねても、答えないだろう。
69 But from this time the Son of man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.
しかし、人の子は今からのち、全能の神の右に座するであろう」。
70 Then they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said to them, Ye say what is true; for I am.
彼らは言った、「では、あなたは神の子なのか」。イエスは言われた、「あなたがたの言うとおりである」。
71 And they said, What further need have we of testimony? For we have ourselves heard from his own mouth.
すると彼らは言った、「これ以上、なんの証拠がいるか。われわれは直接彼の口から聞いたのだから」。
