< John 18 >

1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples across the brook Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples.
Leleꞌ Yesus hule-oꞌe basa ma, Ana dea neu namaloloꞌ no ana mana tungga nara. Ara reu sia osi esa sia loe Kidron bobꞌoan. Boe ma ara rala reu.
2 And Judas also, his betrayer, knew the place; because Jesus often resorted thither with his disciples.
Leleꞌ naa, malangga agama Yahudi ra malangga nara, ro atahori mia partei agama Farisi ra fee soldꞌadꞌu ma mana nanea atahori hira reu Yudas. Huu ana nae seo hendi Yesus. Yudas bubꞌuluꞌ osi a boe, huu Yesus naꞌabꞌue lao hetar sia naa no ana mana tungga nara ena.
3 Judas then, having received the band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with torches and lanterns and weapons.
4 But Jesus, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith to them, Whom do ye seek?
Tao-tao te, Yesus bubꞌuluꞌ basa mana nae dadꞌi neu Eni ena. De Ana lali mataꞌ neu ma natane nae, “Hei sangga seka?”
5 They answered him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus saith to them, I am he. Now Judas also, his betrayer, was standing with them.
Boe ma rataa rae, “Hai sangga atahori esa, naran Yesus, mia kambo Nasaret.” Eni mana seo hendi Yesus.
6 As soon then as he said to them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Leleꞌ Yesus olaꞌ nae, “Au ena,” boe ma atahori ra dinggoꞌ hela E, ma raꞌaloli reu rae a.
7 Again therefore he asked them, Whom do ye seek? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
Ara rataa rae, “Yesus, atahori Nasaret.”
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore ye are seeking me, let these men go.
9 That the saying might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom thou hast given me, I have lost none.”
(Ana olaꞌ naꞌo naa fo tao dadꞌi saa fo Eni olaꞌ nita nae, “Amaꞌ. Basa atahori fo Amaꞌ fee neu Auꞌ ra, esa nda mopo sa boe.”)
10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear. And the servant's name was Malchus.
Leleꞌ naa, Simon Petrus nendi tafa eꞌekuꞌ esa. (Atahori naa, naran Malkus. Eni malangga agama Yahudi ra malangga monaen aten.)
11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Boe ma Yesus denu Petrus nae, “Wae, Petrus! Dosoꞌ baliꞌ tafaꞌ ma nisiꞌ ngguman rala. Huu Ama ngga nafadꞌe basa ena oi Au musi hambu doidꞌosoꞌ mataꞌ ia. Dadꞌi hela neu leo! Naa onaꞌ Ana fee Au nggalas esa isin mana meruꞌ. Hela neu fo Au inu ubasaꞌ e.”
12 So the band and the captain, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him,
Basa ma, malangga, soldꞌadꞌu ra, ro atahori Yahudi ra mana nanea nara, humu rala Yesus, de futu E.
13 and carried him to Annas first; for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high-priest that year.
De ara ro E nisi Anas. Anas naa, naeni Kayafas ama arin. Tooꞌ naa, Kayafas dadꞌi malangga agama Yahudi ra malangga monaen.
14 And it was Caiaphas who counseled the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
Kayafas ia, nanori nita atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara oi, “Malole lenaꞌ soaꞌ neu nggi, mete ma akaꞌ atahori esa mate fee neu basa atahori.”
15 And Simon Peter and the other disciple followed Jesus. That disciple was an acquaintance of the high-priest, and went with Jesus into the court of the palace of the high-priest.
Simon Petrus tungga-tunggaꞌ a Yesus dean, namaloloꞌ no Yesus ana mana tunggan esa fai, naeni au, Yohanis.
16 But Peter was standing outside at the door. The other disciple therefore, who was an acquaintance of the high-priest, went out and spoke to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
Te Petrus nambariiꞌ siaꞌ a dea, deka-deka no lutu-mbaa lelesun. Au dea uu, ma olaꞌ o inaꞌ esa mana nanea sia naa, fo ona bee na au bisa o Petrus rala neu boe.
17 Then the maid-servant that kept the door saith to Peter, Art thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
Boe ma inaꞌ a natane Petrus oi, “Wee! Ho ia, Atahori naa ana mana tunggan esa boe, to?” Te Petrus nataa nae, “Hokoꞌ!”
18 And the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold, and were warming themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
Leleꞌ naa, maꞌariniꞌ. Naa de atahori mana ranea ro ate ra rambariiꞌ dara ai. Boe ma Petrus neu, de dara ai naꞌabꞌue no se.
19 The high-priest then asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.
Leleꞌ naa, agama Yahudi malangga monaen dalahuluꞌ a paresaꞌ Yesus soꞌal nenorin, ma soꞌal ana mana tungga nara.
20 Jesus answered him, I have spoken plainly to the world; I always taught in a synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews assemble, and in secret I spoke nothing.
21 Why askest thou me? Ask those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, these know what I have said.
Taꞌo bee de mutane Au? Mutane siaꞌ a atahori mana rena oꞌola Ngga ra. Huu tantu rahine saa fo Au olaꞌ ena.”
22 And when he had said this, one of the officers who was standing by struck Jesus on the face, saying, Is it thus that thou answerest the high-priest?
23 Jesus answered him, If I spoke what is evil, testify to the evil; but if well, why dost thou strike me?
24 Annas therefore sent him bound to Caiaphas the high-priest.
Basa naa ma, Anas denu se rendi E nisiꞌ Kayafas, mana dadꞌi agama Yahudi malangga monaen. Leleꞌ ara roo E neu, Ana feꞌe manapaꞌaꞌ.
25 And Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied and said, I am not.
26 One of the servants of the high-priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
Sia naa hambu agama Yahudi malangga monaen aten esa. Eni bobonggiꞌ mia atahori fo Petrus tati etu ndiki roon. Natane nae, “Wee! Faꞌ ra ho mia osi naa boe, to? Au ita nggo mia naa boe!”
27 Then Peter denied again; and immediately a cock crew.
Te Petrus nafanii seluꞌ fai, ma manu a koꞌokee boe.
28 Then they lead Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor's palace; and it was early. And they did not themselves go into the palace, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.
29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and saith, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
Basa ma, hofernor Pilatus dea neu de nandaa no atahori Yahudi ra. Boe ma natane nae, “Hei fua salaꞌ saa neu Atahori ia?”
30 They answered and said to him, If he had not been doing evil, we would not have delivered him up to thee.
Boe ma ara rataa rae, “Taꞌo ia, pak. Mete ma Eni ia, nda atahori deꞌulakaꞌ sa, tantu hai nda ima ngganggu pak sa. Saa fai fee Eni neu pak liman.”
31 Pilate therefore said to them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any one to death.
Boe ma hofernor nafadꞌe se nae, “Taꞌo ia. Hela hei mana taoafiꞌ neu dedꞌeat na, tungga hei atahori Yahudi ra hohoro-lalanen.” Boe ma atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara rafadꞌe rae, “Nda bisa sa, pak. Hai atahori Yahudi ra nda miꞌena hak fo miꞌetuꞌ hukun mate sa. Naa akaꞌ hei mana parenda Roma ra fo miꞌena hak onaꞌ naa.”
32 That the words of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what kind of death he was to die.
(Leleꞌ ara olaꞌ raꞌo naa, saa fo Yesus olaꞌ nita maꞌahulun, dadꞌi ena. Huu Ana nafadꞌe neu atahori nara nae, dei fo Ana mate tungga mana parenda Roma ra hadꞌa-dalan, naeni ara mbaku E sia hau ngganggeꞌ a.)
33 Pilate therefore went into the palace again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
De noꞌe nala Yesus, ma natane nae, “Ona bee? Ho ia, atahori Yahudi ra manen, do?”
34 Jesus answered, Dost thou say this of thyself, or did others tell thee concerning me?
Yesus natane baliꞌ mbali e nae, “Pak mesaꞌ ne mana mutane onaꞌ naa, do, atahori laen mana rafadꞌe pak soꞌal Au?”
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation and the chief priests delivered thee up to me. What hast thou done?
Lelenan fai malangga agama Yahudi ra malangga nara. Ho ia, tao saa? Mufadꞌe sobꞌa dei!”
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I should not be delivered up to the Jews; but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Boe ma Yesus nafadꞌe nae, “Au nda maneꞌ esa mia raefafoꞌ ia sa. Huu mete ma Au dadꞌi maneꞌ mataꞌ naa, tantu Au atahori dedenu ngga ra ramue fo atahori Yahudi ra nda dadꞌi humu Au sa. Memaꞌ Au dadꞌi Maneꞌ. Te nda hambu atahori sia raefafoꞌ ia mana soꞌu Au taꞌo naa sa.”
37 Pilate therefore said to him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest what is true; for I am a king. For this end have I been born, and for this cause have I come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth listeneth to my voice.
De hofernor natane seluꞌ fai nae, “Dadꞌi ho ia, Maneꞌ, do?” Boe ma Yesus nataa nae, “Pak mana nae Au dadꞌi Maneꞌ. Matetun bonggi Au fo dadꞌi Maneꞌ. Au raefafoꞌ ia uma dadꞌi Maneꞌ, fo onaꞌ bee na ufadꞌe soꞌal dala-dala ndoo-tetuꞌ ra. Basa atahori mana toꞌu rahereꞌ dala-dala ndoo-tetuꞌ ra, na, ara rena Au.”
38 Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find nothing criminal in him.
39 But ye have a custom that I should release to you one at the passover: do ye desire, therefore, that I release to you the king of the Jews?
Te hei hadꞌa-dala mara, tungga too sia fai fefeta Paska, au musi mboꞌi atahori bui esa fee neu nggi. Dadꞌi tooꞌ ia, hei nau au mboꞌi hendi atahori Yahudi ra manen, do taꞌo bee?”
40 Then they cried out again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
Basa se randu randaa rae, “Afiꞌ mboꞌi Atahori ia! Mboꞌiꞌ a Barabas!”
