James 5
1 Come now, ye rich men, weep and wail for your miseries that are coming upon you.
১এখন দেখ, হে ধনীব্যক্তিরা, তোমাদের উপরে যে সব দুর্দশা আসছে, সে সবের জন্য কান্নাকাটি ও হাহাকার কর।
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are become moth-eaten;
২তোমাদের ধন পচে গিয়েছে, ও তোমাদের জামাকাপড় সব পোকায় খেয়ে ফেলেছে;
3 your gold and silver is rusted, and the rust of them will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as fire; ye have heaped up treasure in the last days!
৩তোমাদের সোনা ও রূপা ক্ষয় হয়েছে; আর তার ক্ষয় তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেবে এবং আগুনের মত তোমাদের শরীর খাবে। তোমরা শেষ দিনের ধন সঞ্চয় করেছ।
4 Behold, the hire of the laborers who reaped your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, crieth out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
৪দেখ, যে মজুরেরা তোমাদের ক্ষেতের শস্য কেটেছে, তারা তোমাদের মাধ্যমে যে বেতনে বঞ্চিত হয়েছে, তারা চিৎকার করছে এবং সেই শস্যছেদকের আর্ত্তনাদ বাহিনীগণের প্রভুর কানে পৌঁচেছে।
5 Ye have lived in luxury on the earth, and have been given to pleasure; ye have pampered your hearts in a day of slaughter.
৫তোমরা পৃথিবীতে সুখভোগ ও আরাম করেছ, তোমরা হত্যার দিনের নিজের নিজের হৃদয় তৃপ্ত করেছ।
6 Ye have condemned, ye have killed the just man; he doth not resist you.
৬তোমরা ধার্ম্মিককে দোষী করেছ, হত্যা করেছ; তিনি তোমাদের প্রতিরোধ করেন না।
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and is patient about it, until it hath received the early and latter rain.
৭অতএব, হে ভাইয়েরা, তোমরা প্রভুর আগমন পর্যন্ত ধৈর্য্য ধরে থাক। দেখ, কৃষক জমির বহুমূল্য ফলের অপেক্ষা করে এবং যত দিন তা প্রথম ও শেষ বৃষ্টি না পায়, ততদিন তার বিষয়ে ধৈর্য্য ধরে থাকে।
8 Be ye also patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
৮তোমরাও ধৈর্য্য ধরে থাক, নিজের নিজের হৃদয় সুস্থির কর, কারণ প্রভুর আগমন কাছাকাছি।
9 Murmur not against each other, brethren, that ye be not judged. Behold, the Judge standeth before the door.
৯হে ভাইয়েরা, তোমরা একজন অন্য জনের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ কর না, যেন বিচারিত না হও; দেখ, বিচারকর্ত্তা দরজার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে আছেন।
10 Take, brethren, the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, for an example of affliction, and of patience.
১০হে ভাইয়েরা, যে ভাববাদীরা প্রভুর নামে কথা বলেছিলেন, তাঁদেরকে দুঃখভোগের ও ধৈর্যের দৃষ্টান্ত বলে মানো।
11 Behold, we count those happy who have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of Job; behold also the end of the Lord, that he is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
১১দেখ, যারা স্থির রয়েছে, তাদেরকে আমরা ধন্য বলি। তোমরা ইয়োবের সহ্যের কথা শুনেছ; এবং প্রভু শেষ পর্যন্ত কি করেছিল তা দেখেছ, ফলতঃ প্রভু করুণাময় ও দয়ায় পরিপূর্ণ।
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not; neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under condemnation.
১২আবার, হে আমার ভাইয়েরা, আমার সর্বোপরি কথা এই, তোমরা দিব্যি করো না; স্বর্গের কি পৃথিবীর কি অন্য কিছুরই দিব্যি করো না। বরং তোমাদের হ্যাঁ হ্যাঁ এবং না না হোক, যদি বিচারে পড়।
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any cheerful? let him sing praise.
১৩তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কি দুঃখভোগ করছে? সে প্রার্থনা করুক। কেউ কি আনন্দে আছে? সে প্রশংসার গান করুক।
14 Is any sick among you? let him call to him the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
১৪তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কি অসুস্থ? সে মণ্ডলীর প্রাচীনদেরকে ডেকে আনুক; এবং তাঁরা প্রভুর নামে তাকে তেলে অভিষিক্ত করে তার উপরে প্রার্থনা করুক।
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; even if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.
১৫তাতে বিশ্বাসের প্রার্থনা সেই অসুস্থ ব্যক্তিকে সুস্থ করবে এবং প্রভু তাকে ওঠাবেন; আর সে যদি পাপ করে থাকে, তবে তার পাপ ক্ষমা হবে।
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
১৬অতএব তোমরা একজন অন্য জনের কাছে নিজের নিজের পাপ স্বীকার কর, ও একজন অন্য জনের জন্য প্রার্থনা কর, যেন সুস্থ হতে পার। ধার্ম্মিকের প্রার্থনা কার্য্যকরী ও শক্তিশালী।
17 Elijah was a man of like nature with us, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months;
১৭এলিয় আমাদের মত সুখদুঃখভোগী মানুষ ছিলেন; আর তিনি দৃঢ়তার সাথে প্রার্থনা করলেন, যেন বৃষ্টি না হয় এবং তিন বছর ছয় মাস জমিতে বৃষ্টি হল না।
18 and again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
১৮পরে তিনি আবার প্রার্থনা করলেন; আর আকাশ থেকে বৃষ্টি হলো এবং মাটি নিজের ফল উৎপন্ন করল।
19 Brethren, if any one among you be led astray from the truth, and one convert him,
১৯হে আমার ভাইয়েরা, তোমাদের মধ্যে যদি কেউ সত্যের থেকে দূরে সরে যায় এবং কেউ তাকে ফিরিয়ে আনে,
20 let him know that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
২০তবে জেনো, যে ব্যক্তি কোন পাপীকে তার পথ-ভ্রান্তি থেকে ফিরিয়ে আনে, সে তার প্রাণকে মৃত্যু থেকে রক্ষা করবে এবং পাপরাশি ঢেকে দেবে।
