Psalms 115
1 Not to us, YHWH, not to us, but to your name be the glory, for your loving kindness and for your faithfulness.
μὴ ἡμῖν κύριε μὴ ἡμῖν ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ ὀνόματί σου δὸς δόξαν ἐπὶ τῷ ἐλέει σου καὶ τῇ ἀληθείᾳ σου
2 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God, now?"
μήποτε εἴπωσιν τὰ ἔθνη ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶν
3 But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases.
ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἄνω ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς καὶ ἐν τῇ γῇ πάντα ὅσα ἠθέλησεν ἐποίησεν
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
τὰ εἴδωλα τῶν ἐθνῶν ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον ἔργα χειρῶν ἀνθρώπων
5 They have mouths, but they do not speak. They have eyes, but they do not see.
στόμα ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐ λαλήσουσιν ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται
6 They have ears, but they do not hear. They have noses, but they do not smell.
ὦτα ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐκ ἀκούσονται ῥῖνας ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐκ ὀσφρανθήσονται
7 They have hands, but they do not feel. They have feet, but they do not walk, neither do they speak through their throat.
χεῖρας ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐ ψηλαφήσουσιν πόδας ἔχουσιν καὶ οὐ περιπατήσουσιν οὐ φωνήσουσιν ἐν τῷ λάρυγγι αὐτῶν
8 Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.
ὅμοιοι αὐτοῖς γένοιντο οἱ ποιοῦντες αὐτὰ καὶ πάντες οἱ πεποιθότες ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς
9 Israel, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.
οἶκος Ισραηλ ἤλπισεν ἐπὶ κύριον βοηθὸς αὐτῶν καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν
10 House of Aaron, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.
οἶκος Ααρων ἤλπισεν ἐπὶ κύριον βοηθὸς αὐτῶν καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν
11 You who fear YHWH, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.
οἱ φοβούμενοι τὸν κύριον ἤλπισαν ἐπὶ κύριον βοηθὸς αὐτῶν καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν
12 YHWH remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron.
κύριος ἐμνήσθη ἡμῶν καὶ εὐλόγησεν ἡμᾶς εὐλόγησεν τὸν οἶκον Ισραηλ εὐλόγησεν τὸν οἶκον Ααρων
13 He will bless those who fear YHWH, both small and great.
εὐλόγησεν τοὺς φοβουμένους τὸν κύριον τοὺς μικροὺς μετὰ τῶν μεγάλων
14 May YHWH increase you more and more, you and your children.
προσθείη κύριος ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς ὑμῶν
15 Blessed are you by YHWH, who made heaven and earth.
εὐλογημένοι ὑμεῖς τῷ κυρίῳ τῷ ποιήσαντι τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν
16 The heavens are the heavens of YHWH; but the earth has he given to the descendants of Adam.
ὁ οὐρανὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ τὴν δὲ γῆν ἔδωκεν τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων
17 The dead do not praise JAH, neither any who go down into silence;
οὐχ οἱ νεκροὶ αἰνέσουσίν σε κύριε οὐδὲ πάντες οἱ καταβαίνοντες εἰς ᾅδου
18 But we will bless JAH, from this time forth and forevermore. Praise JAH.
ἀλλ’ ἡμεῖς οἱ ζῶντες εὐλογήσομεν τὸν κύριον ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος
