Luke 14
1 And it happened, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him.
ಯೇಸು ಒಂದು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಎಲ್ಲರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
2 And look, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗಿ ನೀರು ತುಂಬಿದ್ದ ರೋಗಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
3 Jesus, answering, spoke to the Law scholars and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?"
ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ನಿಯಮ ಪಂಡಿತರಿಗೂ ಫರಿಸಾಯರಿಗೂ, “ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡುವುದು ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
4 But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.
ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಮೌನವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು, ಆ ರೋಗಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
5 He answered them, "Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, would not immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?"
ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮಗುವಾಗಲಿ, ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
6 But they could make no reply to this.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
7 He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,
ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರು ತಮಗಾಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆಂದು ಯೇಸು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು:
8 "When you are invited by anyone to a marriage feast, do not sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,
“ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದರೆ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿನಗಿಂತಲೂ ಗೌರವವುಳ್ಳ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿರಬಹುದು.
9 and he who invited both of you would come and tell you, 'Make room for this person.' Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.
ಆಗ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದವನು ಬಂದು ನಿನಗೆ, ‘ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಕೊಡು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ ನೀನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಕಡೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು.
10 But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, 'Friend, move up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.
ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಹೋಗಿ ಕಡೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೋ, ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದವನು ಬಂದು ನಿನಗೆ, ‘ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೇ, ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಗೌರವವಿರುವುದು.
11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಯಾರಾದರೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೋ ಅವರು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲಾಗುವರು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗುವರು,” ಎಂದರು.
12 He also said to the one who had invited him, "When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.
ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದಾಗ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರಾದ ನೆರೆಯವರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕರೆಯಬೇಡ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರೂ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುಪಕಾರವಾದೀತು.
13 But when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind;
ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಔತಣಮಾಡಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಬಡವರನ್ನೂ ಊನವಾದವರನ್ನೂ ಕುಂಟರನ್ನೂ ಕುರುಡರನ್ನೂ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸು.
14 and you will be blessed, because they do not have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous."
ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ನೀನು ಧನ್ಯನಾಗುವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುಪಕಾರವಾಗುವುದು.”
15 Now when one of those who were reclining with him heard these things, he said to him, "Blessed is he who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God."
ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
16 But he said to him, "A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many people.
ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು: “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಔತಣ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದನು.
17 And he sent his servant at the hour for supper to tell those who were invited, 'Come, for everything is ready now.'
ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಯವಾದಾಗ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಿಗೆ ಅವನು, ‘ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
18 They all as one began to make excuses. "The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.'
“ಆದರೆ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆಪ ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನು, ‘ನಾನು ಒಂದು ಹೊಲ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
19 "Another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.'
“ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು, ‘ನಾನು ಐದು ಜೊತೆ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂದನು.
20 "Another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'
“ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು, ‘ನಾನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬರಲಾರೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
21 "That servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.'
“ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಲು, ಆ ಮನೆಯಜಮಾನನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ಬೇಗನೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಸಂದುಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ, ಬಡವರನ್ನೂ ಊನವಾದವರನ್ನೂ ಕುರುಡರನ್ನೂ ಕುಂಟರನ್ನೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದನು.
22 "The servant said, 'Lord, it is done as you commanded, and there is still room.'
“ಆ ಸೇವಕನು, ‘ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ನೀನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಯಿತು, ಆದರೂ ಸ್ಥಳವಿದೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
23 "The lord said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
“ಆಗ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ಬೀದಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಓಣಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆ ತುಂಬುವಂತೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಂಡವರನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತಮಾಡು.
24 For I tell you that none of those individuals who were invited will taste of my supper.'"
ಆದರೆ, ಮೊದಲು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.’”
25 Now large crowds were going with him. He turned and said to them,
ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರಲು, ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ:
26 "If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
“ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ, ತಾಯಿ, ಹೆಂಡತಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಸಹೋದರರು, ಸಹೋದರಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಸಹ ದ್ವೇಷಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗಲಾರರು.
27 Whoever does not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
ಯಾರಾದರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸದವರು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗಲಾರರು.
28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
“ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಗೋಪುರವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸಿದರೆ. ನೀವು ಮೊದಲು ಕುಳಿತು ಅದನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಖರ್ಚು ಇದೆಯೋ ಎಂದು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
29 Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,
ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡದೆ ನೀವು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರ ಹಾಕಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ, ‘ಈ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ, ಮುಗಿಸಲು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವರು.
30 saying, 'This man began to build, and was not able to finish.'
31 Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
“ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವ ಅರಸನಾದರೂ ಬೇರೆ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ, ಮೊದಲು ಕುಳಿತು ತನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಸೈನ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಆ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಸೈನ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎದುರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮರ್ಥವೋ ಎಂದು ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace.
ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಕೋರುವನಲ್ಲವೇ?
33 So therefore whoever of you who does not renounce all that he has, he cannot be my disciple.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ತಮಗಿರುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗಲಾರರು.
34 Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it?
“ಉಪ್ಪು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ಆದರೆ ಉಪ್ಪೇ ಸಪ್ಪಗಾದರೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಾವುದರಿಂದ ರುಚಿ ಬಂದೀತು?
35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
ಅದು ಭೂಮಿಗಾದರೂ ಗೊಬ್ಬರಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದನ್ನು ಜನರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. “ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಯುಳ್ಳವರು, ಕೇಳಲಿ.”
