Luke 13
1 Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
ちょうどそのとき、ある人たちがやって来て、イエスに報告した。ピラトがガリラヤ人たちの血をガリラヤ人たちのささげるいけにえに混ぜたというのである。
2 And he answered and said to them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things?
イエスは彼らに答えて言われた。「そのガリラヤ人たちがそのような災難を受けたから、ほかのどのガリラヤ人よりも罪深い人たちだったとでも思うのですか。
3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
そうではない。わたしはあなたがたに言います。あなたがたも悔い改めないなら、みな同じように滅びます。
4 Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwell in Jerusalem?
また、シロアムの塔が倒れ落ちて死んだあの十八人は、エルサレムに住んでいるだれよりも罪深い人たちだったとでも思うのですか。
5 I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."
そうではない。わたしはあなたがたに言います。あなたがたも悔い改めないなら、みな同じように滅びます。」
6 He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.
イエスはこのようなたとえを話された。 「ある人が、ぶどう園にいちじくの木を植えておいた。実を取りに来たが、何も見つからなかった。
7 He said to the vine dresser, 'Look, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'
そこで、ぶどう園の番人に言った。『見なさい。三年もの間、やって来ては、このいちじくの実のなるのを待っているのに、なっていたためしがない。これを切り倒してしまいなさい。何のために土地をふさいでいるのですか。』
8 He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.
番人は答えて言った。『ご主人。どうか、ことし一年そのままにしてやってください。木の回りを掘って、肥やしをやってみますから。
9 And if it bears fruit next time, [fine]; but if not, you can cut it down.'"
もしそれで来年、実を結べばよし、それでもだめなら、切り倒してください。』」
10 He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
イエスは安息日に、ある会堂で教えておられた。
11 And look, a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.
すると、そこに十八年も病の霊につかれ、腰が曲がって、全然伸ばすことのできない女がいた。
12 When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity."
イエスは、その女を見て、呼び寄せ、「あなたの病気はいやされました。」と言って、
13 He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.
手を置かれると、女はたちどころに腰が伸びて、神をあがめた。
14 The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, "There are six days when work should be done Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
すると、それを見た会堂管理者は、イエスが安息日にいやされたのを憤って、群衆に言った。「働いてよい日は六日です。その間に来て直してもらうがよい。安息日には、いけないのです。」
15 Therefore the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites. Does not each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?
しかし、主は彼に答えて言われた。「偽善者たち。あなたがたは、安息日に、牛やろばを小屋からほどき、水を飲ませに連れて行くではありませんか。
16 Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, look, eighteen years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?"
この女はアブラハムの娘なのです。それを十八年もの間サタンが縛っていたのです。安息日だからといってこの束縛を解いてやってはいけないのですか。」
17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the crowd rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
こう話されると、反対していた者たちはみな、恥じ入り、群衆はみな、イエスのなさったすべての輝かしいみわざを喜んだ。
18 Then he said, "What is the Kingdom of God like? And to what can I compare it?
そこで、イエスはこう言われた。「神の国は、何に似ているでしょう。何に比べたらよいでしょう。
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches."
それは、からし種のようなものです。それを取って庭に蒔いたところ、生長して木になり、空の鳥が枝に巣を作りました。」
20 And again he said, "To what can I compare the Kingdom of God?
またこう言われた。「神の国を何に比べましょう。
21 It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened."
パン種のようなものです。女がパン種を取って、三サトンの粉に混ぜたところ、全体がふくれました。」
22 He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
イエスは、町々村々を次々に教えながら通り、エルサレムへの旅を続けられた。
23 One said to him, "Lord, are they few who are saved?" He said to them,
すると、「主よ。救われる者は少ないのですか。」と言う人があった。イエスは、人々に言われた。
24 "Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.
「努力して狭い門からはいりなさい。なぜなら、あなたがたに言いますが、はいろうとしても、はいれなくなる人が多いのですから。
25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, open to us.' then he will answer and tell you, 'I do not know you or where you come from.'
家の主人が、立ち上がって、戸をしめてしまってからでは、外に立って、『ご主人さま。あけてください。』と言って、戸をいくらたたいても、もう主人は、『あなたがたがどこの者か、私は知らない。』と答えるでしょう。
26 Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.'
すると、あなたがたは、こう言い始めるでしょう。『私たちは、ごいっしょに、食べたり飲んだりいたしましたし、私たちの大通りで教えていただきました。』
27 But he will reply, 'I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.'
だが、主人はこう言うでしょう。『私はあなたがたがどこの者だか知りません。不正を行なう者たち。みな出て行きなさい。』
28 There will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.
神の国にアブラハムやイサクやヤコブや、すべての預言者たちがはいっているのに、あなたがたは外に投げ出されることになったとき、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯ぎしりしたりするのです。
29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.
人々は、東からも西からも、また南からも北からも来て、神の国で食卓に着きます。
30 And look, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last."
いいですか、今しんがりの者があとで先頭になり、いま先頭の者がしんがりになるのです。」
31 In that same hour some Pharisees came, saying to him, "Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you."
ちょうどそのとき、何人かのパリサイ人が近寄って来て、イエスに言った。「ここから出てほかの所へ行きなさい。ヘロデがあなたを殺そうと思っています。」
32 And he said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Look, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
イエスは言われた。「行って、あの狐にこう言いなさい。『よく見なさい。わたしは、きょうと、あすとは、悪霊どもを追い出し、病人を直し、三日目に全うされます。
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it cannot be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.'
だが、わたしは、きょうもあすも次の日も進んで行かなければなりません。なぜなら、預言者がエルサレム以外の所で死ぬことはありえないからです。』
34 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused.
ああ、エルサレム、エルサレム。預言者たちを殺し、自分に遣わされた人たちを石で打つ者、わたしは、めんどりがひなを翼の下にかばうように、あなたの子らを幾たび集めようとしたことか。それなのに、あなたがたはそれを好まなかった。
35 Look, your house is abandoned to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
見なさい。あなたがたの家は荒れ果てたままに残される。わたしはあなたがたに言います。『祝福あれ。主の御名によって来られる方に。』とあなたがたの言うときが来るまでは、あなたがたは決してわたしを見ることができません。」
