Leviticus 21
1 YHWH said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, 'A priest shall not defile himself for the dead among his people;
൧യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ‘പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തിൽ ഒരുവന്റെ ശവത്താൽ തന്നെത്താൻ മലിനമാക്കരുത്.
2 except for his relatives that are near to him: for his mother, for his father, for his son, for his daughter, for his brother,
൨എന്നാൽ തന്റെ അമ്മ, അപ്പൻ, മകൻ, മകൾ, സഹോദരൻ,
3 and for his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.
൩തനിക്കടുത്തവളും ഭർത്താവില്ലാത്ത കന്യകയുമായ സഹോദരി എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഉററ ചാർച്ചക്കാരാൽ അവനു മലിനനാകാം.
4 He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
൪പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തിൽ പ്രമാണിയായിരിക്കുകയാൽ തന്നെത്താൻ വിവാഹത്തിലുടെ മലിനമാക്കി അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുത്.
5 "'They shall not shave their heads, neither shall they shave off the corners of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
൫പുരോഹിതന്മാർ തലമുടി വടിക്കുകയും താടിയുടെ അറ്റം കത്രിക്കുകയും ശരീരത്തിൽ മുറിവുണ്ടാക്കുകയും അരുത്;
6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings of YHWH made by fire, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.
൬തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിനു വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കണം; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അവർ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരായിരിക്കണം.
7 "'They shall not marry a woman who is a prostitute, or profane; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband: for he is holy to his God.
൭വേശ്യയെയോ ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തിയെയോ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; ഭർത്താവ് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെയും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; പുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു വിശുദ്ധൻ ആകുന്നു.
8 You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers the bread of your God: he shall be holy to you: for I YHWH, who sanctify you, am holy.
൮അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണം; അവൻ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നവനാകയാൽ നീ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കണം; അവൻ നിനക്ക് വിശുദ്ധനായിരിക്കണം; നിങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധൻ ആകുന്നു.
9 "'The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father: she shall be burned with fire.
൯പുരോഹിതന്റെ മകൾ ദുർന്നടപ്പ് ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താൻ അശുദ്ധയാക്കിയാൽ അവൾ തന്റെ അപ്പനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നു; അവളെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയണം.
10 "'He who is the high priest among his brothers, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, nor tear his clothes;
൧൦“‘അഭിഷേകതൈലം തലയിൽ ഒഴിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനും വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുവാൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുമായി തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായവൻ തന്റെ തല നഗ്നമാക്കുകയോ വസ്ത്രം കീറുകയോ അരുത്.
11 neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
൧൧അവൻ യാതൊരു ശവത്തോടും അടുക്കുകയും തന്റെ അപ്പനാലും അമ്മയാലും അശുദ്ധനാകുകയും അരുത്.
12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am YHWH.
൧൨വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം വിട്ട് അവൻ പുറത്തിറങ്ങുകയും തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയും അരുത്; അവന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അഭിഷേകതൈലമായ കിരീടം അവന്റെമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
13 "'He shall take a wife in her virginity.
൧൩കന്യകയായ സ്ത്രീയെ മാത്രമേ അവൻ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാവൂ.
14 A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute, these he shall not marry: but a virgin of his own people shall he take as a wife.
൧൪വിധവ, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൾ, ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരത്തി, വേശ്യ ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ അവൻ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കരുത്; സ്വജനത്തിലുള്ള കന്യകയെ മാത്രമേ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാവു.
15 He shall not profane his offspring among his people: for I am YHWH who sanctifies him.'"
൧൫അവൻ തന്റെ സന്തതിയെ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ അവനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു’”.
16 YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
൧൬യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “നീ അഹരോനോടു പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ:
17 "Say to Aaron, 'None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish, may approach to offer the bread of his God.
൧൭‘നിന്റെ സന്തതിപരമ്പരയിൽ അംഗഹീനനായവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തുവരരുത്.
18 For whatever man he is that has a blemish, he shall not draw near: a blind man, or a lame, or he who has a flat nose, or any deformity,
൧൮അംഗഹീനനായ യാതൊരുത്തനും അടുത്തുവരരുത്; കുരുടൻ, മുടന്തൻ,
19 or a man who has an injured foot, or an injured hand,
൧൯പതിമൂക്കൻ, അധികാംഗൻ, കാലൊടിഞ്ഞവൻ, കൈയൊടിഞ്ഞവൻ,
20 or hunchbacked, or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye, or an itching disease, or scabs, or who has damaged testicles;
൨൦കൂനൻ, മുണ്ടൻ, നേത്രരോഗി, ചൊറിയൻ, പൊരിച്ചുണങ്ങൻ, ഷണ്ഡൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരും അരുത്.
21 no man of the descendants of Aaron the priest, who has a blemish, shall come near to present offerings to your God made by fire. Since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
൨൧പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ അംഗഹീനനായ ഒരുവനും യഹോവയുടെ ദഹനയാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തുവരരുത്; അവൻ അംഗഹീനൻ; അവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനം അർപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അടുത്തുവരരുത്.
22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
൨൨തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനമായ അതിപരിശുദ്ധമായവയും വിശുദ്ധമായവയും അവനു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.
23 He shall not come near to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish; that he may not profane my sanctuaries, for I am YHWH who sanctifies them.'"
൨൩എങ്കിലും തിരശ്ശീലയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുകയും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തുവരികയും അരുത്; അവൻ അംഗഹീനനല്ലോ; അവൻ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസാധനങ്ങളെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു’”.
24 So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.
൨൪മോശെ ഇത് അഹരോനോടും പുത്രന്മാരോടും എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടും പറഞ്ഞു.
