Isaiah 37
1 It happened, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into YHWH's house.
൧ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവ് അത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി ചാക്കുടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.
2 He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.
൨പിന്നെ അവൻ രാജധാനിവിചാരകൻ എല്യാക്കീമിനെയും രായസക്കാരൻ ശെബ്നയെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരിൽ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും ചാക്കുടുത്തവരായി ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.
3 They said to him, "Thus says Hezekiah, 'This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring forth.
൩അവർ അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഹിസ്കീയാവ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു: ‘ഇതു കഷ്ടവും ശാസനയും നിന്ദയും ഉള്ള ദിവസമത്രേ; കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ജനിക്കാറായിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രസവിക്കുവാനോ ശക്തിയില്ല.
4 It may be YHWH your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which YHWH your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.'"
൪ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുവാൻ രബ്-ശാക്കേയെ അവന്റെ യജമാനനായ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവ് അയച്ചു പറയിക്കുന്ന വാക്ക് നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ പക്ഷേ കേൾക്കും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കിനു പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യും; അതിനാൽ ഇനിയും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കണമേ’”.
5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
൫ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ യെശയ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ യെശയ്യാവ് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്:
6 Isaiah said to them, "Tell your master, 'Thus says YHWH, "Do not be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
൬“നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനോടു പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: ‘യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതായി നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെടണ്ടാ.
7 Look, I will put a spirit in him and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land."'"
൭ഞാൻ അവന് ഒരു മനോവിഭ്രമം വരുത്തും; അവൻ ഒരു ശ്രുതി കേട്ടിട്ട് സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ അവനെ അവന്റെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തുവച്ചു വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴുമാറാക്കും’”.
8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
൮രബ്-ശാക്കേ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവ് ലിബ്നയുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവൻ ലാക്കീശ് വിട്ടുപോയി എന്ന് അവൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നു.
9 He heard news concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, "He has come out to fight against you." When he heard it, he returned and sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
൯എന്നാൽ കൂശ്‌രാജാവായ തിർഹാക്ക തന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ട് അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവായ സൻഹേരീബ് ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു കല്പിച്ചത്:
10 "Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, 'Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, "Jerusalem won't be given into the hand of the king of Assyria."
൧൦“നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘“യെരൂശലേം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകളയുകയില്ല” എന്നു നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ ചതിക്കരുത്.
11 Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?
൧൧അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സകലദേശങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്തതും അവയ്ക്ക് ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയതും നീ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; നീ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുമോ?
12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?
൧൨ഗോസാൻ, ഹാരാൻ, രേസെഫ, തെലസ്സാരിലെ ഏദേന്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്റെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാർ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ജനതകളുടെ ദേവന്മാർ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?'"
൧൩ഹമാത്ത് രാജാവും അർപ്പാദ്‌ രാജാവും സെഫർവ്വയീംപട്ടണം, ഹേന, ഇവ്വ എന്നിവയ്ക്കു രാജാവായിരുന്നവനും എവിടെ?’”
14 Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to YHWH's house, and spread it before YHWH.
൧൪ഹിസ്കീയാവ് ദൂതന്മാരുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് എഴുത്തു വാങ്ങി വായിച്ചു; ഹിസ്കീയാവ് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അത് വിടർത്തി.
15 Hezekiah prayed to YHWH, saying,
൧൫ഹിസ്കീയാവ് യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞത്:
16 "YHWH of hosts, the God of Israel, who is enthroned among the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
൧൬“യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കെരൂബുകളുടെ മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് ഒരുവൻ മാത്രം ഭൂമിയിലെ സർവ്വരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ദൈവമാകുന്നു; അങ്ങ് ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
17 Turn your ear, YHWH, and hear. Open your eyes, YHWH, and look. Hear all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the living God.
൧൭യഹോവേ, ചെവിചായിച്ചു കേൾക്കണമേ; യഹോവേ, തൃക്കണ്ണു തുറന്നു നോക്കണമേ; ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുവാൻ ആളയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സൻഹേരീബിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേൾക്കണമേ.
18 Truly, YHWH, the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the countries and their land,
൧൮യഹോവേ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സർവ്വജനതകളെയും അവരുടെ ദേശത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കി,
19 and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.
൧൯അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞതു സത്യം തന്നെ; അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ല, മനുഷ്യരുടെ കൈപ്പണിയായ മരവും കല്ലും മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിനാൽ അവർ അവയെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
20 Now therefore, YHWH our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are YHWH, even you only."
൨൦ഇപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് ഒരുവൻ മാത്രം യഹോവ എന്നു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളും അറിയേണ്ടതിന് ഞങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കണമേ”.
21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, "Thus says YHWH, the God of Israel, 'Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,
൨൧ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവ് ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: “യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘നീ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവായ സൻഹേരീബ് നിമിത്തം എന്നോട് പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്,
22 this is the word which YHWH has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.
൨൨അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം ഇതാകുന്നു: “സീയോൻപുത്രിയായ കന്യക നിന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചു പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേംപുത്രി നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.
23 Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.
൨൩നീ ആരെയാകുന്നു നിന്ദിച്ചു ദുഷിച്ചത്? ആർക്ക് വിരോധമായിട്ടാകുന്നു നീ ശബ്ദം ഉയർത്തുകയും തല ഉന്നതമായി ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തത്? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദൈവം വിരോധമായിട്ടു തന്നെയല്ലയോ?
24 By your messengers you have taunted YHWH, and have said, "With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice fir trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.
൨൪നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ മുഖാന്തരം നീ കർത്താവിനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു; ‘എന്റെ അസംഖ്യരഥങ്ങളോടു കൂടി ഞാൻ മലമുകളിലും ലെബാനോന്റെ ശിഖരങ്ങളിലും കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ പൊക്കമുള്ള ദേവദാരുക്കളും വിശേഷമായ സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഞാൻ മുറിക്കും; അതിന്റെ അറ്റത്തെ കൊടുമുടിവരെയും അതിന്റെ അതിനിബിഡമായ കാടുവരെയും ഞാൻ കടന്നുചെല്ലും;
25 I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt."
൨൫ഞാൻ വെള്ളം കുഴിച്ചെടുത്തു കുടിക്കും; എന്റെ കാലടികളാൽ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ സകലനദികളെയും വറ്റിക്കും’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.
൨൬ഞാൻ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ അതിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; പൂർവ്വകാലത്തുതന്നെ അതിനെ നിർമ്മിച്ചു എന്നു നീ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? നീ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളെ മുടിച്ചു ശൂന്യകൂമ്പാരങ്ങളാക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
27 Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the rooftops when it is scorched by the east wind.
൨൭അതുകൊണ്ട് അവയിലെ നിവാസികൾ ദുർബ്ബലന്മാരായി വിരണ്ട് അമ്പരന്നുപോയി; അവർ വയലിലെ പുല്ലും പച്ചച്ചെടിയും പുരപ്പുറങ്ങളിലെ പുല്ലും വളരുംമുമ്പ് കരിഞ്ഞുപോയ ധാന്യവുംപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു.
28 But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.
൨൮എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ഇരിപ്പും നിന്റെ ഗമനവും ആഗമനവും എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.
29 Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.
൨൯എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തുകൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുകകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൊളുത്തു നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലും എന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞാൺ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിലും ഇട്ടു നീ വന്ന വഴിക്കുതന്നെ നിന്നെ മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോകും”.
30 This shall be the sign to you. You will eat this year that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from the same; and in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.
൩൦എന്നാൽ ഇതു നിനക്ക് അടയാളമാകും: നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വർഷം പടുവിത്തു വിളയുന്നതും രണ്ടാം വർഷം താനെ കിളുർത്തുവിളയുന്നതും തിന്നും; മൂന്നാം വർഷം നിങ്ങൾ വിതച്ചു കൊയ്യുകയും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കി അവയുടെ പഴം തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.
31 The remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
൩൧യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിൽ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പ് വീണ്ടും താഴെ വേരൂന്നി മീതെ ഫലം കായ്ക്കും.
32 For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go forth, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of YHWH of hosts will perform this.'
൩൨ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പ് യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നും ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരും;’ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ തീക്ഷ്ണത അതിനെ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും”.
33 Therefore thus says YHWH concerning the king of Assyria, 'He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
൩൩അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അവൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരുകയില്ല; ഒരു അമ്പ് അവിടെ എയ്യുകയുമില്ല; അതിന്റെ നേരെ പരിചയോടുകൂടി വരുകയില്ല; അതിനെതിരെ ഉപരോധ മൺകൂന ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയുമില്ല.
34 By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come to this city,' says YHWH.
൩൪അവൻ വന്ന വഴിക്കുതന്നെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരുകയുമില്ല;”
35 'For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.'"
൩൫“എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ പാലിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കും” എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
36 The angel of YHWH went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, look, these were all dead bodies.
൩൬എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അശ്ശൂർപാളയത്തിൽ ഒരുലക്ഷത്തെൺപത്തയ്യായിരം പേരെ കൊന്നു; ജനം രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ അവർ എല്ലാവരും ശവങ്ങളായി കിടക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടു.
37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.
൩൭അങ്ങനെ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവായ സൻഹേരീബ് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി നീനെവേയിൽ താമസിച്ചു.
38 It happened, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.
൩൮എന്നാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ദേവനായ നിസ്രോക്കിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ അദ്രമ്മേലെക്കും ശരേസെരും അവനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊന്നിട്ട് അരാരാത്ത് ദേശത്തേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ഏസെർ-ഹദ്ദോൻ അവനു പകരം രാജാവായി.
