Hosea 4

1 Hear the word of YHWH, you children of Israel; for YHWH has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

൧യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുവിൻ; യഹോവയ്ക്ക് ദേശനിവാസികളോട് ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ട്; ദേശത്ത് സത്യവും ദയയും ഇല്ല, ദൈവപരിജ്ഞാനവുമില്ല.

2 There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.

൨അവർ ആണയിടുന്നു; ഭോഷ്ക് പറയുന്നു; കൊല ചെയ്യുന്നു; മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു; വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാ അതിരുകളും ലംഘിക്കുന്നു; രക്തപാതകത്തോട് രക്തപാതകം കൂട്ടുന്നു.

3 Therefore the land mourns, and all those who dwell in it will waste away, along with the animals of the field and the crawling creatures of the earth and the birds of the sky, and even the fish of the sea will be taken away.

൩അതുകൊണ്ട് ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ സകലനിവാസികളും വയലിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളും തളർന്നുപോകുന്നു; സമുദ്രത്തിൽ മത്സ്യങ്ങളും ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നു.

4 "Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.

൪എങ്കിലും ആരും തർക്കിക്കരുത്; ആരും മറ്റൊരുവനെ ശാസിക്കുകയും അരുത്; നിന്റെ ജനമോ, പുരോഹിതനോട് തർക്കിക്കുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

5 You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.

൫അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ പകൽ സമയത്ത് ഇടറിവീഴും; പ്രവാചകനും നിന്നോടൊപ്പം രാത്രിയിൽ ഇടറിവീഴും; നിന്റെ അമ്മയെ ഞാൻ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.

൬പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലായ്കയാൽ എന്റെ ജനം നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനം ത്യജിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് നീ എനിക്ക് പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കാതെ ഞാൻ നിന്നെയും ത്യജിക്കും; നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാനും നിന്റെ മക്കളെ മറക്കും.

7 As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. They have exchanged their glory into shame.

൭അവർ പെരുകുന്തോറും എന്നോട് ഏറെ പാപംചെയ്തു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ മഹത്ത്വത്തെ ലജ്ജയായി മാറ്റും.

8 They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.

൮അവർ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പാപംകൊണ്ട് ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കുന്നു; ജനം അകൃത്യത്തിനായിട്ട് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

9 It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.

൯ആകയാൽ ജനത്തിന് എപ്രകാരമോ, പുരോഹിതനും അപ്രകാരം തന്നെ ഭവിക്കും. ഞാൻ അവരുടെ തെറ്റായ വഴികൾ നിമിത്തം അവരെ സന്ദർശിച്ച് അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കു തക്കവിധം അവർക്ക് പകരം കൊടുക്കും.

10 They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to YHWH.

൧൦അവർ ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കുകയില്ല; അവർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്താലും പെരുകുകയില്ല; യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നത് അവർ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

11 Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding.

൧൧പരസംഗവും വീഞ്ഞും പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞും ബുദ്ധിയെ കെടുത്തിക്കളയുന്നു.

12 My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.

൧൨എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ മരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളോട് അരുളപ്പാട് ചോദിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഊന്നുവടി അവരോട് ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നു; പരസംഗമോഹം അവരെ വഴി തെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെ വിട്ട് പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

13 They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks and poplars and shady terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery.

൧൩അവർ പർവ്വതശിഖരങ്ങളിൽ ബലികഴിക്കുന്നു; കുന്നുകളിൽ അവർ നല്ല തണലുള്ള കരുവേലകത്തിന്റെയും പുന്നയുടെയും ആലിന്റെയും കീഴിൽ ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നു; അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്ര ഭാര്യമാർ വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നു.

14 I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.

൧൪നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങളുടെ വധുക്കൾ വ്യഭിചരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ സന്ദർശിക്കുകയില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുരുഷന്മാരും വേശ്യാസ്ത്രീകളോടുകൂടി വേറിട്ട് പോകുകയും ദേവദാസികളോടുകൂടി ബലി കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇങ്ങനെ ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ജനം നശിച്ചുപോകും.

15 "Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet do not let Judah offend; and do not come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beth Aven, nor swear, 'As YHWH lives.'

൧൫യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ പരസംഗം ചെയ്താലും, യെഹൂദാ അപരാധം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങൾ ഗില്ഗാലിലേക്ക് ചെല്ലരുത്; ബേത്ത്-ആവെനിലേക്ക് കയറിപ്പോകരുത്; ‘യഹോവയാണ’ എന്ന് സത്യം ചെയ്യുകയുമരുത്.

16 For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will YHWH feed them like a lamb in a meadow.

൧൬യിസ്രായേൽ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള പശുക്കിടാവിനെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചാൽ യഹോവ അവരെ ഒരു വിശാലസ്ഥലത്ത് കുഞ്ഞാടിനെപ്പോലെ മേയിക്കുമോ?

17 Ephraim, joined to idols, has placed stumbling blocks against himself.

൧൭എഫ്രയീം വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടാളിയാകുന്നു; അവനെ വിട്ടുകളയുക.

18 Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way.

൧൮മദ്യപാനം കഴിയുമ്പോൾ അവർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യും; അവരുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ലജ്ജാകരമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അത്യന്തം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു.

19 The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.

൧൯കാറ്റ് അവളെ ചിറകുകൾകൊണ്ട് ചുറ്റിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നു. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ബലികൾ നിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.
