Psalms 14

1 [For the Chief Musician. By David.] The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They do abominable works. There is none who does good.

Disse o nescio no seu coração: Não ha Deus. Teem-se corrompido, fazem-se abominaveis em suas obras, não ha ninguem que faça o bem.

2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the descendants of Adam, to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.

O Senhor olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

3 They have all turned away. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

Desviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram immundos: não ha quem faça o bem, não ha sequer um

4 Have all evildoers no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread? They do not call on the LORD.

Não terão conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade? os quaes comem o meu povo, como se comessem pão, e não invocam ao Senhor.

5 There they are utterly terrified, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ali se acharam em grande pavor, porque Deus está na geração dos justos.

6 You would frustrate the plans of the lowly, but the LORD is his refuge.

Vós envergonhaes o conselho dos pobres, porquanto o Senhor é o seu refugio.

7 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion. When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.

Oh, se de Sião tivera já vindo a redempção d'Israel! quando o Senhor fizer voltar os captivos do seu povo, se regozijará Jacob e se alegrará Israel.
