< Romans 6 >

1 What should we say then? Should we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
第一款 キリストに於る信仰によりて義とせられし人の道義的生活 然らば我等何をか云はん、恩寵の溢れん事を期して罪に止らんか、
2 Absolutely not. We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
然らず、我等は罪に死したる者なれば、争でか尚罪に活くべき。
3 Or do you not know that all we who were baptized into Messiah Jesus were baptized into his death?
知らずやキリスト、イエズスに於て洗せられし我等が、皆其死に擬して洗せられたる事を。
4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Messiah was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
蓋我等は其死に倣はん為に、洗禮を以て彼と共に葬られたるなり、是キリストが御父の光榮を以死者の中より復活し給ひし如く、我等も亦新しき生命に歩まん為なり。
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
蓋我等は彼に接がれて其死の状態に肖似りたれば、其復活にも亦肖似るべし。
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
我等の古き人が彼と共に十字架に釘けられしは、罪の身を亡ぼされて再び罪の奴隷とならざらん為なる事は我等之を知る、
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
死したる人は罪を脱れたればなり。
8 But if we died with Messiah, we believe that we will also live with him;
我等は信ず、我等若キリストと共に死したらば、亦キリストと共に活きんと。
9 knowing that Messiah, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him.
其はキリストは死者の中より復活して最早死し給ふ事なく、死が更に之を司る事なかるべしと知ればなり。
10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
死せしは罪の為にして一度死し給ひたれど、活くるは神の為に活き給ふなり。
11 In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Messiah Jesus.
斯の如く汝等も己を、罪には死したる者なれども、神の為には我主キリスト、イエズスに於て活ける者と思へ。
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
故に罪は汝等を其諸慾に從はしむるほど、汝等の死すべき身の中に王たるべからず。
13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
尚又汝等の五體を不義の武器として罪に献ぐること勿れ、却て死したりしに活くる者として己を神に献げ、五體をも神の為に義の武器として献げよ。
14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
其は汝等既に律法の下に在らずして恩寵の下に在るが故に、罪の汝等を司る事あるまじければなり。
15 What then? Should we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Absolutely not.
然らば如何にすべきか、我等は律法の下に在らずして恩寵の下に在るが故に罪を犯すべきか、然らず。
16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
知らずや、汝等順はんとて己を奴隷として献ぐれば、其順ふ所の者の奴隷となる事を。或は罪の奴隷として死に至り、或は從順の奴隷として義に至る。
17 But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
然れど神に感謝す、汝等は罪の奴隷たりしに、交付されて學びたる教の法に心より從ひ、
18 Being made free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
且罪より救はれて義の奴隷となりたるなり。
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.
我汝等の肉の弱きに對して、人の語法を以て云はん、即ち汝等不義の為に五體を不潔不義の奴隷として献げたりしが如く、今は聖とならん為に五體を義の奴隷として献げよ。
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
汝等罪の奴隷たりし時、義に對しては自由の身なりしが、
21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
其時に今耻と為る事を以て何の好果を得たりしぞ、即ち是等の事の終は死あるのみ。
22 But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
今は既に罪より救はれて神の僕と成り、其得る所の好果は聖と成る事にして、其終は永遠の生命なり。 (aiōnios g166)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Messiah Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
蓋罪の報酬は死なるに、神の賜は我主イエズス、キリストに由れる永遠の生命なり。 (aiōnios g166)
