Philemon 1
1 Paul, a prisoner of Messiah Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,
| פולוס אסיר המשיח ישוע וטימותיוס האח אל פילימון החביב והעזר אתנו׃ |
2 and to Apphia our sister, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:
| ואל אפיה האהובה ואל ארכפוס חבר מלחמתינו ואל הקהלה אשר בביתך׃ |
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah.
| חסד לכם ושלום מאת אלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח׃ |
4 I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,
| מודה אני לאלהי בכל עת בהזכירי אתך בתפלותי׃ |
5 hearing of your love, and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;
| אחרי שמעי אהבתך ואמונתך אשר בך לאדנינו ישוע ולכל הקדושים׃ |
6 that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you in Messiah.
| למען אשר תאמץ התחברות אמונתך בדעת כל טוב אשר בכם לשם המשיח׃ |
7 For I have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
| כי שמחה גדולה ונחמה יש לנו באהבתך באשר היתה רוחה למעי הקדושים אחי על ידיך׃ |
8 Therefore, though I have all boldness in Messiah to command you that which is appropriate,
| לכן אף כי יש לי בטחון רב במשיח לצותך את הראוי לך הנה בחרתי למען האהבה לחלות את פניך׃ |
9 yet on the basis of love I rather appeal, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Messiah Jesus.
| כאשר הנה אנכי פולוס איש זקן ועתה גם אסיר ישוע המשיח׃ |
10 I appeal to you for my child, whom I have become the father of in my chains, Onesimus,
| אבקשה ממך על בני אשר הוללתיו במוסרי על אניסימוס׃ |
11 who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.
| אשר מלפנים לא הועיל לך ועתה הוא להועיל גם לך גם לי והשיבתיו אליך׃ |
12 I am sending back to you, him who is my very heart,
| ואתה קבל נא אתו שהוא מעי׃ |
13 whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the gospel.
| חפצתי לעצר אתו אצלי שישרתני תחתיך במוסרות הבשורה׃ |
14 But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.
| אבל בלי רצונך לא אביתי לעשות דבר למען לא תהיה טובתך באנס כי אם בנדבה׃ |
15 For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while, that you would have him forever, (aiōnios g166)
| כי אולי נפרד ממך לשעה בעבור אשר יהיה לך לעולם׃ (aiōnios g166) |
16 no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
| ומעתה לא כעבד כי אם למעלה מעבד כאח אהוב שכן הוא לי ביותר ואף כי לך הן בבשר הן באדון׃ |
17 If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
| והנה אם תחשבני לחבר לך תקבלנו כמוני׃ |
18 But if he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, put that to my account.
| ואם הרע לך בדבר או חיב הוא לך דבר חשבהו לי׃ |
19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides).
| אני פולוס כתבתי בידי אני אשלם ולא אמר כי אתה חיב לי גם את נפשך׃ |
20 Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Messiah.
| כן אחי אהנה נא ממך באדון נחם נא את מעי באדון׃ |
21 Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
| בבטחוני כי תשמע לי כתבתי אליך ויודע אני כי תעשה יותר ממה שאמרתי׃ |
22 Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.
| ועם זה גם תכין לי בית מלון כי אקוה אשר אנתן לכם על ידי תפלותיכם׃ |
23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Messiah Jesus, greets you,
| אפפרס האסור אתי במשיח ישוע׃ |
24 as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
| ומרקוס וארסטרכוס ודימס ולוקס עזרי שאלים לשלומך׃ |
25 The grace of the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah be with your spirit.
| חסד ישוע המשיח אדנינו עם רוחכם אמן׃ |
