< Luke 4 >

1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
Yesu, wodzazidwa ndi Mzimu Woyera, anachoka ku mtsinje wa Yorodani ndipo anatsogozedwa ndi Mzimu Woyerayo kupita ku chipululu,
2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. When they were completed, he was hungry.
kumene anayesedwa ndi mdierekezi masiku makumi anayi. Sanadye kena kalikonse pa masiku amenewo, ndipo pa mapeto pake anamva njala.
3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
Mdierekezi anati kwa Iye, “Ngati ndiwe Mwana wa Mulungu, uza mwala uwu kuti usanduke buledi.”
4 Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone.'"
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Zalembedwa: ‘Munthu sadzakhala ndi moyo ndi chakudya chokha.’”
5 And leading him up to a high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Mdierekezi anamutengera Iye pamalo aatali ndipo mʼkamphindi namuonetsa maufumu onse a dziko lapansi.
6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.
Ndipo anati kwa Iye, “Ndidzakupatsani ulamuliro ndi ulemerero wawo; pakuti anandipatsa ine, ndipo ndingathe kupereka kwa aliyense amene ndikufuna.
7 If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."
Ngati mutandilambira, zonsezi zidzakhala zanu.”
8 Jesus answered and said to him, "It is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Zalembedwa: ‘Pembedza Yehova Mulungu wako ndi kumutumikira Iye yekha.’”
9 He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
Mdierekezi anapita naye ku Yerusalemu namuyimiritsa pamwamba penipeni pa Nyumba ya Mulungu. Ndipo anati, “Ngati ndinu Mwana wa Mulungu dziponyeni nokha pansi kuchokera pano.
10 for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;'
Pakuti kwalembedwa, “Adzalamulira angelo ake za iwe kuti akutchinjirize mosamala;
11 and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"
ndipo adzakunyamula ndi manja awo, kuti phazi lako lisagunde pa mwala.”
12 And Jesus, answering, said to him, "It is said, 'Do not test the Lord, your God.'"
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Mawu akuti, ‘Musamuyese Yehova Mulungu wanu.’”
13 When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
Mdierekezi atamaliza mayesero awa onse, anamusiya Iye kufikira atapeza mpata wina.
14 Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
Yesu anabwerera ku Galileya mu mphamvu ya Mzimu Woyera, ndipo mbiri yake inafalikira ku madera onse a ku midzi.
15 He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.
Iye ankaphunzitsa mʼmasunagoge awo, ndipo aliyense ankamulemekeza.
16 He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Iye anapita ku Nazareti, kumene anakulira, ndipo pa tsiku la Sabata anakalowa mʼsunagoge, monga mwa chikhalidwe chake. Ndipo anayimirira kuti awerenge malemba.
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
Anamupatsa buku la mneneri Yesaya. Atalitsekula, anapeza pamalo pamene panalembedwa kuti,
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,
“Mzimu wa Ambuye ali pa Ine; chifukwa wandidzoza kuti ndilalikire Uthenga Wabwino kwa osauka. Wandituma kuti ndilalikire kwa a mʼndende kuti amasulidwe ndi kwa osaona kuti apenyenso, kumasulidwa kwa osautsidwa,
19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
ndi kulalikira za nthawi imene Ambuye adzakomere mtima anthu awo.”
20 He closed the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Kenaka Iye anatseka bukulo, nalibwezera kwa wotumikira ndipo anakakhala pansi. Maso a aliyense mʼsunagogemo anali pa Iye,
21 He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
ndipo anawawuza kuti, “Lero malemba awa akwaniritsidwa mmene mwamveramu.”
22 All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?"
Onse anayankhula zabwino za Iye ndipo anadabwa ndi mawu ogwira moyo amene anatuluka mʼkamwa mwake. Iwo anafunsa kuti, “Kodi uyu si mwana wa Yosefe?”
23 He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"
Yesu anawawuza kuti, “Zoonadi, mudzandiwuza mwambi uwu: Singʼanga, dzichiritse wekha! Chitanso mʼmudzi wa kwanu kuno zimene ife tamva kuti Iwe unazichita ku Kaperenawo.”
24 He said, "Truly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
Iye anapitiriza kuti, “Zoonadi, ndikukuwuzani kuti palibe mneneri amene amavomerezedwa ku mudzi kwawo.
25 But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
Ine ndikukutsimikizirani kunali amayi ambiri amasiye mu Israeli mʼnthawi ya Eliya, kumwamba kutatsekedwa kwa zaka zitatu ndi theka ndipo kunali njala yayikulu mʼdziko lonselo.
26 Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
Komabe Eliya sanatumidwe kwa mmodzi mwa iwo, koma kwa mkazi wamasiye wa ku Zerefati ku chigawo cha Sidoni.
27 There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."
Ndipo kunali akhate ambiri ku Israeli mʼnthawi ya mneneri Elisa, koma panalibe mmodzi mwa iwo anachiritsidwa kupatula Naamani wa ku Siriya.”
28 They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
Anthu onse mʼsunagogemo anapsa mtima atamva izi.
29 They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
Anayimirira namutulutsira kunja kwa mzindawo, ndipo anamutengera pamwamba pa phiri pamene mzindawo unamangidwapo, ndi cholinga chakuti amuponyere ku phompho.
30 But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.
Koma Iye anangoyenda pakati pa gulu la anthulo nachokapo.
31 He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
Kenaka Iye anapita ku Kaperenawo, mudzi wa ku Galileya, ndipo pa Sabata anayamba kuphunzitsa anthu.
32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
Iwo anadabwa ndi chiphunzitso chake chifukwa uthenga wake unali ndi ulamuliro.
33 In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he shouted with a loud voice,
Mʼsunagogemo munali munthu wogwidwa ndi mzimu woyipa. Iye analira ndi mawu akulu, akuti
34 saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."
“Aa! Kodi mukufuna chiyani kwa ife, Yesu wa ku Nazareti? Kodi mwabwera kudzatiwononga? Ndikudziwa kuti ndinu ndani, ndinu Woyerayo wa Mulungu!”
35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him." When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
Yesu anachidzudzula kwambiri nati, “Khala chete! Tuluka mwa iye.” Chiwandacho chinamugwetsa munthuyo pansi pamaso pa onse ndipo chinatuluka wosamupweteka.
36 Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."
Anthu onse anadabwa ndipo anati kwa wina ndi mnzake, “Kodi chiphunzitso ichi ndi chotani? Ndi ulamuliro ndi mphamvu Iye akulamulira mizimu yoyipa ndipo ikutuluka!”
37 News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
Ndipo mbiri yake inafalikira madera onse ozungulira.
38 He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her.
Yesu anatuluka mʼsunagoge ndipo anapita kwa Simoni. Tsopano mpongozi wake wa Simoni amadwala malungo akulu, ndipo anamupempha Yesu kuti amuthandize.
39 He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
Ndipo anawerama nadzudzula malungowo ndipo anamusiya. Anadzuka nthawi yomweyo nayamba kuwatumikira.
40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
Pamene dzuwa linkalowa, anthu anabweretsa kwa Yesu onse amene anali ndi matenda osiyanasiyana, ndipo atasanjika manja ake pa aliyense, anachiritsidwa.
41 Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Messiah.
Komanso ziwanda zinkatuluka mwa anthu ambiri, zikufuwula kuti, “Inu ndinu Mwana wa Mulungu!” Koma Iye anazidzudzula ndipo sanazilole kuyankhula chifukwa zimadziwa kuti Iye ndi Khristu.
42 When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the crowds looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he would not go away from them.
Kutacha, Yesu anapita ku malo a yekha. Anthu ankamufunafuna Iye ndipo pamene anafika kumene anali, anthuwo anayesetsa kumuletsa kuti asawachokere.
43 But he said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."
Koma Iye anati, “Ine ndikuyenera kulalikira Uthenga Wabwino wa ufumu wa Mulungu ku mizinda inanso chifukwa ichi ndi chimene ananditumira.”
44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
Ndipo Iye anapitirirabe kulalikira mʼmasunagoge a ku Yudeya.
