Yochanan 7
1 After these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee, for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jewish leaders sought to kill him.
Y PASADAS estas cosas, andaba Jesus en Galiléa: que no queria andar en Judéa, porque los Judíos procuraban matarle.
2 Now the Jewish festival, the Feast of Tabernacles, was near.
Y estaba cerca la fiesta de los Judíos, [la] de los tabernáculos.
3 So his brothers said to him, "Depart from here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see your works that you are doing.
Y dijéronle sus hermanos: Pásate de aquí, y véte á Judéa para que tambien tus discípulos vean las obras que haces.
4 For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world."
Que ninguno que procura ser claro hace algo en oculto: Si estas cosas haces, manifiéstate al mundo.
5 For even his brothers did not believe in him.
Porque ni aun sus hermanos creian en él.
6 Jesus therefore said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
Díceles entónces Jesus: Mi tiempo aun no ha venido; mas vuestro tiempo siempre está presto.
7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
No puede el mundo aborreceros á vosotros; mas á mí me aborrece, porque yo doy testimonio de él, que sus obras son malas.
8 You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled."
Vosotros subid á esta fiesta: yo no subo aun á esta fiesta; porque mi tiempo aun no es cumplido.
9 After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee.
Y habiéndoles dicho esto, quedóse en Galiléa.
10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.
Mas como sus hermanos hubieron subido, entónces él tambien subió á la fiesta, no manifiestamente, sino como en secreto.
11 The Jewish leaders therefore sought him at the feast, and said, "Where is he?"
Y buscábanle los Judíos en la fiesta, y decian: ¿Dónde está aquel?
12 There was much murmuring among the crowds concerning him. Some said, "He is a good man." But others said, "Not so, but he leads the crowd astray."
Y habia grande murmullo de él entre la gente; porque unos decian: Bueno es. Y otros decian: No, ántes engaña las gentes.
13 Yet no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jewish leaders.
Mas ninguno hablaba abiertamente de él, por miedo de los Judíos.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
Y al medio de la fiesta subió Jesus al templo, y enseñaba.
15 Then the Jewish leaders were astonished, saying, "How does this man know such writings, having never been educated?"
Y maravillábanse los Judíos, diciendo: ¿Cómo sabe este letras, no habiendo aprendido?
16 Jesus therefore answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
Respondióles Jesus, y dijo: Mi doctrina no es mia, sino de aquel que me envió.
17 If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.
El que quisiere hacer su voluntad, conocerá de la doctrina si viene de Dios, ó si yo hablo de mí mismo.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
El que habla de sí mismo, propia gloria busca: mas el que busca la gloria del que le envió, éste es verdadero, y no hay en él injusticia.
19 Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you keeps the Law? Why do you seek to kill me?"
¿No os dió Moisés la ley, y ninguno de vosotros hace la ley? ¿Por qué me procurais matar?
20 The crowd answered, "You have a demon. Who seeks to kill you?"
Respondió la gente, y dijo: Demonio tienes: ¿quién te procura matar?
21 Jesus answered them, "I did one work, and you are all amazed.
Jesus respondió y díjoles: Una obra hice, y todos os maravillais.
22 Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a boy.
Cierto Moisés os dió la circuncision, (no porque sea de Moisés, mas de los padres, ) y en Sábado circuncidais al hombre.
23 If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the Law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath?
Si recibe el hombre la circuncision en Sábado, para que la ley de Moisés no sea quebrantada, ¿os enojais conmigo porque en Sábado hice sano todo un hombre?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
No juzgueis segun lo que parece, mas juzgad justo juicio.
25 Therefore some of them of Jerusalem said, "Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
Decian entónces unos de los de Jerusalem: ¿No es este al que buscan para matarle?
26 Look, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Messiah?
Y hé aquí, habla públicamente, y no le dicen nada: ¿Si habrán entendido verdaderamente los príncipes, que este es el Cristo?
27 However we know where this man comes from, but when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he comes from."
Mas este, sabemos de donde es; y cuando viniere el Cristo, nadie sabrá de donde sea.
28 Jesus therefore called out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know me, and know where I am from. I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know.
Entónces clamaba Jesus en el templo enseñando, y diciendo: Y á mí me conoceis, y sabeis de donde soy: y no he venido de mí mismo; mas el que me envió es verdadero, al cual vosotros no conoceis.
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me."
Yo le conozco: porque de él soy, y él me envió.
30 They sought therefore to take him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
Entónces procuraban prenderle mas ninguno metió en él mano, porqué aun no habia venido su hora.
31 But many in the crowd believed in him. They said, "When the Messiah comes, he won't do more signs than those which this man has done, will he?"
Y muchos del pueblo creyeron en él, y decian: ¿El Cristo, cuando viniere hará mas señales que las que este hace?
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.
Los Fariséos oyeron la gente que murmuraba de él estas cosas, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los Fariséos enviaron servidores que le prendiesen.
33 Then Jesus said, "I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.
Y Jesus dijo: Aun un poco de tiempo estaré con vosotros, é iré al que me envió.
34 You will seek me, but won't find; and where I am, you cannot come."
Me buscaréis, y no [me] hallaréis; y donde yo estaré, vosotros no podréis venir.
35 The Jewish leaders therefore said among themselves, "Where will this man go that we won't find him? Will he go to the Diaspora among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
Entónces los Judíos dijeron entre sí: ¿A dónde se ha de ir este que no le hallemos? ¿Se ha de ir á los esparcidos entre los Griegos, y á enseñar á los Griegos?
36 What is this word that he said, 'You will seek me, but won't find; and where I am, you cannot come'?"
¿Qué dicho es este que dijo: Me buscaréis, y no [me] hallaréis: y donde yo estaré, vosotros no podréis venir?
37 Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
Mas en el postrer dia grande de la fiesta, Jesus se ponia en pié, y clamaba diciendo: Si alguno tiene sed, venga á mí, y beba.
38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water."
El que cree en mí, como dice la escritura, rios de agua viva correrán de su vientre.
39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
(Y esto dijo del Espíritu que habian de recibir los que creyesen en él; pues aun no habia [venido] el Espíritu Santo; porque Jesus no estaba aun glorificado.)
40 Some of the crowd therefore, when they heard these words, said, "This is truly the Prophet."
Entónces algunos de la multitud, oyendo este dicho, decian: Verdaderamente este es el profeta.
41 Others said, "This is the Messiah." But some said, "What, does the Messiah come out of Galilee?
Otros decian: Este es el Cristo. Algunos empero decian: ¿De Galiléa ha de venir el Cristo?
42 Hasn't the Scripture said that the Messiah comes of the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"
¿No dice la escritura: Que de la simiente de David, y de la aldéa de Bethlehem, de donde era David, vendrá el Cristo?
43 So there arose a division in the crowd because of him.
Así que habia disension entre la gente acerca de él.
44 Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.
Y algunos de ellos querian prenderle; mas ninguno echó sobre él manos.
45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why did you not bring him?"
Y los ministriles vinieron á los principales sacerdotes y á los Fariséos; y ellos les dijeron: ¿Por qué no lo trajísteis?
46 The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this man."
Los ministriles respondieron: Nunca ha hablado hombre así como este hombre [habla.]
47 The Pharisees therefore answered them, "You are not also led astray, are you?
Entónces los Fariséos les respondieron: ¿Estais tambien vosotros engañados?
48 Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?
¿Ha creido en él alguno de los príncipes, ó de los Fariséos?
49 But this crowd that does not know the Law is accursed."
Mas estos comunales, que no saben la ley, malditos son.
50 Nicodemus (he who came to him before, being one of them) said to them,
Díceles Nicodemo, (el que vino á él de noche, el cual era uno de ellos, )
51 "Does our Law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?"
¿Juzga nuestra ley á hombre, si primero no oyere de él, y entendiere lo que ha hecho?
52 They answered him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet comes from Galilee."
Respondieron y dijéronle: ¿No eres tú tambien Galiléo? Escudriña y ve que de Galiléa nunca se levantó profeta.
53 Then everyone went to his own house,
Y fuése cada uno á su casa.
