2 and said to Jeremiah the prophet, "Please let our petition be presented before you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, even for all this remnant; for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes do see us:
Jeremaya onye amụma sị ya, “Biko, anyị bịara ịrịọ gị arịrịọ. Kpọkuo Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nʼekpere nʼihi anyị bụ ndị fọdụrụ nʼala a. Ị maara na o nwere oge anyị dị ọtụtụ nʼala a, ma ugbu a anyị dị naanị ole na ole.

Kpee ekpere ka Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị gosi anyị ihe anyị ga-eme, maọbụ ebe anyị ga-eje.”
4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard you; look, I will pray to the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall happen that whatever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it to you; I will keep nothing back from you."
Jeremaya onye amụma zara sị ha, “Anụla m ihe unu kwuru. Aga m ekpere Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu ekpere dịka unu rịọrọ. Mgbe m natara ọsịsa ya, aga m agwakwa unu ihe niile Onyenwe anyị kwuru. O nwekwaghị ihe m ga-ezonarị unu.”
5 Then they said to Jeremiah, "The LORD be a true and faithful witness among us, if we do not do according to all the word with which the LORD your God shall send you to us.
Ha sịrị Jeremaya, “Ka Onyenwe anyị bụrụ onyeama eziokwu na nke kwesiri ntụkwasị obi megide anyị, ma ọ bụrụ na anyị emeghị dịka ihe niile Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị gwara gị ka ị gwa anyị.

Ọ bụ ihe Chineke, onye anyị na-eziga gị ka ị jụta ase, kwuru ka anyị ga-eme. Ma ọ dị mma, ma ọ dị njọ. Anyị ga-erubere Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị isi, ka ihe gaara anyị nke ọma.”
7 It happened after ten days, that the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah.
Mgbe ụbọchị iri gasịrị okwu Onyenwe anyị ruru Jeremaya ntị.
8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
Nʼihi ya ọ kpọrọ Johanan nwa Kariya, ndịisi agha ya na ha so na ndị Izrel niile, site nʼonye dịkarịsịrị nta ruo nʼonye dịkarịsịrị ukwuu.
9 and said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition before him:
Mgbe ha bịara, ọ gwara ha okwu sị ha, “Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel, onye unu zigara m ka m wegara arịrịọ unu, sịrị:
10 'If you will still live in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I grieve over the distress that I have brought on you.
‘Ọ bụrụ na unu anọgide nʼala a, aga m ewuli unu elu; agaghị m akwada unu. Aga m akụkwa unu dịka osisi, gharakwa ihopu unu. Nʼihi na ihe ọjọọ ahụ m mere ka ọ bịakwasị unu na-ewute m nke ukwuu.
11 Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.
Unu atụla eze Babilọn egwu, bụ onye unu na-atụ egwu ya ugbu a. Unu atụla ya egwu, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, nʼihi na anọnyeere m unu, aga m azọpụta unu, napụtakwa unu site nʼaka ya.
12 I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you to return to your own land.'
Aga m enwe obi ebere nʼebe unu nọ, si otu a mee ka ya onwe ya nweekwa obi ebere nʼebe unu nọ. Ọ ga-emekwa ka unu nwetaghachikwa ala unu.’
13 But if you say, 'We will not dwell in this land'; so that you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God,
“Ma ọ bụrụ na unu onwe unu asị, ‘Anyị agaghị anọgide nʼala a,’ si otu a nupu isi nʼebe Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nọ;
14 saying, 'No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell':
ọ bụrụkwa na unu asị, ‘Mba, anyị ga-aga biri nʼala Ijipt ebe anyị na-agaghị ahụ agha, maọbụ nụ ụda opi ike, maọbụ nọọ agụụ nʼihi enweghị ihe oriri,’
15 now therefore hear the word of the LORD, O remnant of Judah: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'If you indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to live there;
mgbe ahụ, nụrụnụ okwu Onyenwe anyị, unu ndị fọdụrụ na Juda. Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Ọ bụrụ na unu anọgidesie ike na mkpebi unu ịga Ijipt ibiri nʼebe ahụ, ọ bụrụkwa na unu agaa biri nʼIjipt nʼeziokwu,
16 then it shall happen, that the sword, which you fear, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; and the famine, about which you are afraid, shall follow close behind you there in Egypt; and there you shall die.
mgbe ahụ, mma agha ahụ unu na-atụ egwu ga-eru unu nʼahụ, ụnwụ ahụ unu na-atụ oke egwu ya ga-esoro unu baa nʼIjipt. Unu ga-anwụkwa nʼebe ahụ.
17 So shall it be with all the men who set their faces to go into Egypt to live there: they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring on them.'
Nʼezie, ndị ahụ niile kpebiri ịga biri nʼIjipt ga-anwụ site na mma agha, na site nʼụnwụ, na site nʼọrịa na-efe efe. O nweghị onye ọbụla nʼime ha ga-afọdụ ndụ, o nweghị onye ọbụla nʼime ha ga-agbanarị ihe ọjọọ ahụ m ga-eme ka ọ bịakwasị ha.’
18 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'As my anger and my wrath has been poured forth on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth on you, when you shall enter into Egypt; and you shall be an object of horror, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.'
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Dịka iwe m na ọnụma m bụ ihe awụkwasịrị nʼelu ndị bi na Jerusalem, otu a ka m ga-esi wụkwasịkwa unu ọnụma m, mgbe unu ga-aga Ijipt. Unu ga-aghọ ihe ọbụbụ ọnụ na ihe iju anya, ihe nkọcha na ihe ịta ụta. Unu agakwaghị ahụ ebe a anya ọzọ.’
19 The LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah, 'Do not go into Egypt': know certainly that I have testified to you this day.
“Unu bụ ndị fọdụrụ na Juda, lee na Onyenwe anyị agwala unu sị, ‘Unu agala Ijipt.’ Matanụ nke ọma na m adọọla unu aka na ntị,
20 For you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the LORD our God; and according to all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare to us, and we will do it':
na unu mehiere nʼobi unu mgbe unu ziri m sị m jụta Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu ase. Mgbe ahụ, unu rịọrọ m sị m, ‘Rịọrọ anyị Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị arịrịọ, gwa anyị ihe niile o kwuru, anyị ga-emekwa ya.’
21 and I have this day declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.
Agwala m unu taa ihe o kwuru, ma unu ajụla ime ihe ahụ niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, bụ onye unu zigara m ka m jekwuru, kwuru.
22 Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go to live there."
Ya mere, matanụ ya nke ọma taa na unu ga-anwụ site na mma agha, na site nʼụnwụ, na site nʼọrịa na-efe efe, nʼebe ahụ unu chọrọ ịga biri.”
