Hebrews 4
1 Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.
Da se bojimo dakle da kako dok je još ostavljeno obeæanje da se ulazi u pokoj njegov, ne odocni koji od vas.
2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard did not profit them, because they were not united by faith with those who heard.
Jer je nama objavljeno kao i onima; ali onima ne pomaže èuvena rijeè, jer ne vjerovaše oni koji èuše.
3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;" although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Jer mi koji vjerovasmo ulazimo u pokoj, kao što reèe: zato se zakleh u gnjevu svojemu da neæe uæi u pokoj moj, ako su djela i bila gotova od postanja svijeta.
4 For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;"
Jer negdje reèe za sedmi dan ovako: i poèinu Bog u dan sedmi od sviju djela svojijeh.
5 and in this place again, "They will not enter into my rest."
I na ovom mjestu opet: neæe uæi u pokoj moj.
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,
Buduæi pak da neki imaju da uðu u njega, i oni kojima je najprije javljeno ne uðoše za neposlušanje;
7 he again appoints a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), "Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."
Opet odredi jedan dan, danas, govoreæi u Davidu po tolikom vremenu, kao što se prije kaza: danas ako glas njegov èujete, ne budite drvenastijeh srca.
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
Jer da je Isus one doveo u pokoj, ne bi za drugi dan govorio potom.
9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Daklem je ostavljeno još poèivanje narodu Božijemu.
10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
Jer koji uðe u pokoj njegov, i on poèiva od djela svojijeh, kao i Bog od svojijeh.
11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.
Da se postaramo dakle uæi u taj pokoj, da ne upadne ko u onu istu gatku nevjerstva.
12 For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Jer je živa rijeè Božija, i jaka, i oštrija od svakoga maèa oštra s obje strane, i prolazi tja do rastavljanja i duše i duha, i zglavaka i mozga, i sudi mislima i pomislima srdaènijem.
13 There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
I nema tvari nepoznate pred njim, nego je sve golo i otkriveno pred oèima onoga kojemu govorimo.
14 Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.
Imajuæi dakle velikoga poglavara sveštenièkoga, koji je prošao nebesa, Isusa sina Božijega, da se držimo priznanja.
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
Jer nemamo poglavara sveštenièkoga koji ne može postradati s našijem slabostima, nego koji je u svaèemu iskušan kao i mi, osim grijeha.
16 Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
Da pristupimo dakle slobodno k prijestolu blagodati, da primimo milost i naðemo blagodat za vrijeme kad nam zatreba pomoæ.
