Ephesians 5
1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
Imitem a Deus, pois vocês são os filhos que ele ama muito.
2 And walk in love, even as Messiah also loved us, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Vivam com amor, da mesma maneira que Cristo os amou. Ele morreu por nós e se ofereceu como um presente e, em sacrifício, como um perfume agradável a Deus.
3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
Que nunca digam que vocês praticam imoralidade sexual ou qualquer outro tipo de indecência, ou que são cobiçosos, pois, como povo de Deus, vocês nem mesmo deveriam conversar sobre essas coisas.
4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.
Não digam palavras indecentes, ou coisas estúpidas e sujas. Em vez disso, agradeçam a Deus.
5 Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Messiah and God.
Saibam vocês que ninguém que seja sexualmente imoral ou que pratique atos indecentes, que seja ganancioso ou adore ídolos herdará o que quer que seja no Reino de Cristo e de Deus.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
Não deixem que ninguém os engane com palavras mentirosas, pois é justamente por essas coisas que os filhos da desobediência serão julgados por Deus.
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Então, fiquem atentos e não participem disso com eles.
8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
Vocês já estiveram nas trevas, mas agora, estão na luz junto com o Senhor. Vocês devem viver como filhos da luz
9 for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
(a luz só produz o que é bom, justo e verdadeiro),
10 proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
mostrando ao Senhor o que ele realmente valoriza.
11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
Não se envolvam com as coisas vazias que as trevas produzem. Pelo contrário, reprovem-nas.
12 For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
É vergonhoso até mesmo falar sobre o que determinadas pessoas fazem secretamente,
13 But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
mas, apenas quando algo é exposto pela luz é que sabemos como isso verdadeiramente é. A luz torna tudo visível.
14 Therefore he says, "Awake, you who sleep, and rise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you."
É por isso que se diz: “Vocês que estão dormindo, levantem-se, ressuscitem dos mortos, e Cristo os iluminará.”
15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
Portanto, cuidado com a forma como vocês vivem! Não vivam de uma forma estúpida, mas, sim, com sabedoria.
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Usem as oportunidades da melhor maneira possível, pois os dias em que vivemos são maus.
17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Não sejam ignorantes, mas descubram qual é a vontade do Senhor.
18 Do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
Não fiquem bêbados por tomarem vinho e estragarem suas vidas. Mas sim, que fiquem cheios do Espírito.
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your heart to the Lord;
Animem uns aos outros usando salmos e músicas sagradas. Cantem e façam música para o Senhor, para expressarem o que realmente sentem.
20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah to God the Father;
Sempre agradeçam a Deus, o Pai, por tudo, em nome do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
21 subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Messiah.
Vocês deveriam estar dispostos a aceitar o que os outros lhes dizem para fazer, pelo respeito que vocês têm por Cristo.
22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Esposa, faça o que o seu marido lhe diz para fazer, como faria se o Senhor lhe dissesse.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, and Messiah also is the head of the church, being himself the savior of the body.
O marido é o cabeça da esposa, da mesma maneira que Cristo é o cabeça da igreja, sendo este mesmo o salvador do corpo.
24 But as the church is subject to Messiah, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything.
Exatamente como a igreja faz o que Cristo diz, as esposas deveriam obedecer em tudo ao seu marido.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
Marido, você deve amar a sua esposa, da mesma maneira que Cristo amou a igreja e se doou para ela.
26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
Ele a tornou santa. Ele a limpou com a água da palavra,
27 that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
para que ele pudesse tornar a igreja sua; uma igreja sem vício ou defeito ou qualquer tipo de falha e, sim, santa e íntegra.
28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
O marido deve amar a esposa exatamente assim. Ame a sua esposa como você ama o seu próprio corpo. Um homem que ama a sua esposa ama a si mesmo,
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Messiah also does the church;
pois ninguém odeia seu próprio corpo. Pelo contrário, nós o alimentamos e cuidamos dele, exatamente como Cristo faz com a igreja,
30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
pois somos membros do seu corpo.
31 "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
Como dizem as Sagradas Escrituras: “É por isso que um homem deixa seu pai e sua mãe e se une a sua esposa, e os dois se tornam um.”
32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Messiah and of the church.
Esta é uma verdade profunda, mas eu estou falando sobre Cristo e a igreja.
33 Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
No entanto, cada marido deve amar a sua própria esposa como ele ama a si mesmo, e a esposa deve respeitar o marido.
