Colossians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Messiah Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
神の思召によりてイエズス、キリストの使徒たるパウロ、及び兄弟チモテオ、
2 to the saints and faithful brothers in Messiah at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
コロサイに於てキリスト（イエズス）に在る聖徒、及び忠信なる兄弟等に[書簡を贈る]。
3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, praying always for you,
願はくは我父にて在す神、及び主イエズス、キリストより、汝等に恩寵と平安とを賜はらん事を。
4 having heard of your faith in Messiah Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints,
第一款 コロサイ人の為に感謝し祈祷す 第一編 教理の部 第一項 キリスト及び其事業 我等キリスト、イエズスに於る汝等の信仰と凡ての聖徒に對する愛情とを聞きて、常に汝等の為に祈りて、我主イエズス、キリストの父にて在す神に感謝し奉る。
5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of truth, the gospel,
是天に於て汝等の為に備へられ、曾て汝等が福音の眞理の言の中に聞きし希望の故なり。
6 which has come to you; even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;
汝等に至れる福音は、果を世界に結びて傳播しつつある事、猶汝等が眞理に從ひて神の恩寵を聞き且識りし日より汝等の中に於て在りしが如し。
7 even as you learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Messiah on our behalf,
汝等之を至愛なる我等の同輩エパフラより學びたるが、彼は汝等の為にキリスト、イエズスの忠信なる役者にして、
8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
[聖]霊によれる汝等の愛情を我等に告げたり。
9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, do not cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
故に我等も亦之を聞きし其日より、汝等の為に祈りて止まず、以て汝等が[聖]霊によれる凡ての智恵と悟とによりて、神の御旨を知る[の知識]に満たされん事を求め奉る。
10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
是汝等が主に相應しく歩み、萬事につけて御意に合ひ、凡ての善業に於て果を結び、神[を識る]の知識を増し、
11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;
其光榮ある全能に從ひて凡ての力を加へられ、喜を以て凡ての事に辛抱し堪忍し、
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light;
神にて在す父に感謝し奉ることを得ん為なり。其は忝くも我等を以て、聖徒等と共に榮光を蒙るに足るべき者と為し給ひ、
13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and transferred us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;
暗黒の権威より救出して最愛なる御子の國に移し給ひ、
14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins;
我等其御子に在りて、御血を以て贖はれ、罪の赦しを得ればなり。
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
第二款 キリスト及び其事業は広大にして無比なり 御子は即ち見え給はざる神の御姿にして、一切の被造物に先だちて生れ給ひし者なり。
16 For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things have been created by him and for him.
蓋萬物は彼に於て造られ、天にも地にも見ゆるもの、見えざるもの、或は玉座、或は主権、或は権勢、或は能力、皆彼を以て且彼の為に造られ、
17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.
御自らは萬物に先だちて在し、萬物は彼の為に存す。
18 He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
彼は又其體なる教會の頭にて在す、蓋原因に在して其死者の中より先んじて生れ給ひしは、萬事に於て自ら先んずる者と成り給はん為なり、
19 For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,
其は充満せる徳を全く彼に宿らしめ、
20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself, making peace through the blood of his cross through him, whether things on the earth or things in heaven.
彼を以て萬物を己と和睦せしめ、其十字架の血を以て地に在るものをも天に在るものをも和合せしむる事の、御意に適ひたればなり。
21 You, who once were alienated and were hostile in your minds, doing evil deeds,
汝等も曾て惡業によりて神に遠ざかり、心より其仇となりしを、
22 yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and blameless before him,
神は今御子の肉體に於て其死によりて己と和睦せしめ、聖にして汚なく罪なき者たらしめ、以て御前に供へんとし給へり。
23 if it is so that you continue in the faith, established and firm, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
汝等若確乎として信仰に基き、福音に於る希望より動かされずば、當に然あるべし。此福音は、汝等之を聞き、普く天下一切の人に宣べられしが、我パウロは其役者と為られたるなり。
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in the sufferings of Messiah for the sake of his body, which is the church;
我今汝等の為に苦むを喜ぶ、又キリストの御苦の缺けたる所を、御體なる教會の為に我が肉體に於て補ふなり。
25 of which I was made a servant, according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you, to fulfill the word of God,
我が教會の役者と為られたるは、汝等の為に神より賜はりたる務に由れり、是神の御言、即ち世々代々に隠れ來りて、
26 the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints. (aiōn g165)
今や其聖徒等に顕れたる奥義を、具に傳へん為なり。 (aiōn g165)
27 To them God was pleased to make known the glorious riches of this mystery among the non-Jews, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory;
此奥義とは光榮の希望にして、汝等に在すキリスト是なり、此奥義の異邦人に及ぼしたる光榮の富の如何を知らしむるは神の御意なり。
28 whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Messiah Jesus;
我等は之を宣べ傳へ、凡ての知識に從ひて、凡ての人を誡め凡ての人に教ふ、是凡ての人をしてキリスト、イエズスに於て完全にならしめんが為なり。
29 for which I also labor, struggling according to his power, which works in me mightily.
我が現に勞苦して、我に於て強く働ける彼の勢力に應じて戰ひつつあるは是が為なり。
