2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Messiah Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

神の思召によりてイエズス、キリストの使徒たるパウロ、及び兄弟チモテオ、コリントに在る神の教會並にアカヤ全地方の聖徒一同に[書簡を贈る]。

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah.

願はくは我父にて在す神及び主イエズス、キリストより、恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらん事を。

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;

祝すべき哉我主キリスト、イエズスの神及び父、慈悲の父、諸の慰の神。即ち

4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

我一切の患難に於て我等を慰め給へるは、我等をして、己が神より慰めらるる慰を以て、亦自ら一切の難に迫れる人々を慰むる事を得しめ給はんとなり。

5 For as the sufferings of Messiah abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Messiah.

蓋キリストの為の苦我等に溢るるが如く、我等の慰も亦キリストを以て溢るるなり。

6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

抑我等が苦難に遇へるも汝等の慰安と救霊との為、慰めらるるも汝等の慰の為にして、汝等にも我等が忍べる如き苦を忍ぶ事を得しむるなり。

7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.

斯て汝等が苦を共にするが如く、又慰をも共にせん事を知れば、我等が汝等に對する希望は堅し。

8 For we do not desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

蓋兄弟等よ、我等が[小]アジアに於て遇ひし困難に就きて、汝等の知らざるを好まず、即ち責めらるる事過度にして、力及ばず、活くる望をすら失ふに至りしかば、

9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

心の中には死すとの返答を持ちたりき。是己を頼まずして、死者を復活せしめ給神を頼奉らん為なり。

10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will also deliver us again;

即ち曩に斯る死より我等を救ひ給ひて今も救ひ給へば、尚救ひ給ふべき事を信頼するなり。

11 you also helping together on our behalf by your petition; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf.

是亦汝等が我等の為に祈りて援くるに由る、蓋多くの人の願によりて我等に賜はる恵を、多くの人を以て我等の為に感謝せられんとてなり。

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

第一項 パウロの眞實を咎め得る者はあらじ 第一編 パウロ使徒としての動作及び氣質を弁護す 我等が誇とする所は、即ち世中、殊に汝等に對して處するに質直なる心と神の賜へる眞實とを以てし、又肉的智恵に由らず神の恩寵に由りてせるを、我良心の證する事是なり。

13 For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will fully acknowledge;

蓋我等の書遣るは汝等が読む所知る所に外ならず、

14 as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

汝等既に粗我等を知りたれば、亦主イエズス、キリストの日に於て我等が汝等の名誉なるが如く、汝等も我等の名誉なる事を、終まで知らん事を希望す。

15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;

斯る希望の下に再び恩寵を得させんとて、我曩に汝等に至り、

16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

汝等を経てマケドニアに往き、マケドニアより更に復汝等に至り、汝等よりユデアへ送られんと志ししが、

17 When I therefore was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the "Yes, yes" and the "No, no?"

斯く志したればとて、我豈軽々しくせしものならんや、又我が定むる事をば肉に由りて定め、我に於て然りと云ひ、又然らずと云ふが如き事あらんや。

18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not "Yes and no."

神は眞實に在して、我が汝等の中に語りし所には、然り然らずと云ふ事なきを證し給ふ。

19 For the Son of God, Jesus (the) Messiah, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not "Yes and no," but in him is "Yes."

蓋我等を以て、即ち我とシルヴァノとチモテオとを以て、汝等の中に宣べられ給ひし神の御子イエズス、キリストに於ては、然り然らずと云ふ事なく、唯然りと云ふ事あるのみ。

20 For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him they are "Amen," to the glory of God through us.

即神の御約束は彼に於て悉く然りとなりたれば、我等は彼を以て神に向ひて其光榮の為にアメンと誦ふるなり。

21 Now he who establishes us with you in Messiah, and anointed us, is God;

汝等と共に我等をキリストに於て堅固ならしめ、且我等に注油し給ひしものは神にて在す。

22 who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

而て尚我等を證印し給ひ、保證として霊を我等の心に賜ひしなり。

23 But I call God as a witness to my soul, that to spare you I did not come again to Corinth.

我魂を賭けて、神を呼びて證者とし奉る、即ち我が更に汝等に至らざりしは、汝等を宥恕する故なり。

24 Not that we rule over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

我等は汝等の信仰を壓せんとする者に非ずして、汝等の喜の協力者なり、其は汝等信仰に據りて立てばなり。
