2 Chronicles 11

1 When Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, one hundred eighty thousand chosen men, who were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

जब रहबाम यरूशलेममा आइपुगे, तब तिनले रहबामको राज्‍य पुनःर्स्‍थापित गराउनलाई इस्राएलको विरुद्धमा युद्ध गर्नलाई यहूदा र बेन्‍यामीनका घरानाका एक लाख असी हजार योद्धाहरू भेला गरे ।

2 But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

तर परमप्रभुको वचन परमेश्‍वरका मानिस शमायाहकहाँ यसो भनेर आयो,

3 "Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

“सोलोमनका छोरा यहूदाका राजा रहबाम, अनि यहूदा र बेन्यामिनका सबै इस्राएललाई यसो भन्,

4 'Thus says the LORD, "You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers. Return every man to his house; for this thing is of me."'" So they listened to the word of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

'परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्‍छ, “आफ्‍नै दाजुभाइका विरुद्धमा तिमीहरूले आक्रमण गर्नु वा युद्ध गर्नुहुँदैन । हरेक व्‍यक्ति आआफ्‍नै घरमा फर्केर जानुपर्छ, किनकि मैले नै यसो हुन दिएको हो” ।’” यसैले तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुका वचन पालन गरे, र यारोबामको विरुद्धमा आक्रमण गर्नबाट पछि हटे ।

5 Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.

रहबाम यरूशलेममा बसोबास गरे र सुरक्षाको निम्ति यहूदामा सहरहरू निर्माण गरे ।

6 He built Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

तिनले बेथहेलेम, एताम, तको,

7 Beth Zur, and Soco, and Adullam,

बेथ सर, सोखो, अदुल्‍लाम,

8 and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,

गात, मारेशा, जीप,

9 and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

अदोरेम, लाकीश, आजेका,

10 and Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin, fortified cities.

सोरा, अय्‍यालोन र हेब्रोन निर्माण गरे । यहूदा र बेन्‍यामीनका किल्‍लाबन्‍दी गरिएका सहरहरू यि नै थिए ।

11 He fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of food, and oil and wine.

तिनले ती गढीहरू किल्‍लाबन्‍दी गरे र तिनमा कमाण्‍डरहरू नियुक्त गरे । त्यहाँ तिनले खानेकुरा, तेल र दाखमद्य पनि तिनमा सञ्‍चय गरिदिए ।

12 He put shields and spears in every city, and made them exceeding strong. Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.

तिनले सबै सहरमा ढाल र भालाहरू राखे, र तिनीहरूलाई धेरै बलियो बनाए । यसरी यहूदा र बेन्‍यामीन तिनका भए ।

13 The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their border.

जम्‍मै इस्राएलमा भएका चारैतिरबाट पुजारीहरू र लेवीहरू आआफ्‍ना सिमानाहरूबाट तिनीकहाँ गए ।

14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest's office to the LORD;

किनकि लेवीहरूले यहूदा र यरूशलेममा आउनको निम्ति आफ्‍ना खर्कहरू र जग्‍गाजमिन छोडे, किनकि किनकि यारोबाम र तिनका छोराहरूले तिनीहरूलाई लखेटेका थिए, ताकि तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको पुजारीको काम गर्न पाएनन् ।

15 and he appointed him priests for the high places, and for the male goats, and for the calves which he had made.

डाँडाका अल्‍गा थानहरू र आफूले बनाएका बाख्रा र बाछाका मूर्तिहरू पूजा गर्न यारोबामले आफ्‍नै पुजारीहरू नियुक्त गरे ।

16 After them, out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seek the LORD, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.

परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वरलाई खोज्‍न आफ्नो हृदयहरू दिएका इस्राएलका सबै कुलबाट मानिसहरू तिनीहरूको पछि आए । तिनीहरू परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना पुर्खाहरूका परमेश्‍वरलाई बलिदान चढाउन यरूशलेममा आए ।

17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years; for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.

यसैले तिनीहरूले यहूदाको राज्‍य बलियो बनाए र तीन वर्षसम्‍म सोलोमनका छोरो रहबामलाई समर्थन गरे, र त्‍यस बेला तिनीहरू दाऊद र सोलोमनका चालअनुसार तीन वर्षसम्‍म हिंडे ।

18 Rehoboam took him a wife, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, and of Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;

रहबामले आफ्नो निम्ति एउटी पत्‍नी ल्याएः तिनी महलत थिइन् । तिनका बुबा दाऊदका छोरा यरीमोत थिए र आमाचाहिं यिशैका छोरा एलीआबकी छोरी अबीहेल थिइन् ।

19 and she bore him sons: Jeush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.

उनीले तिनको निम्ति छोराहरू जन्माइन्: येऊश, शमरयाह र साहम ।

20 After her he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.

महलतपछि तिनले अब्‍शालोमकी छोरी माकालाई विवाह गरे । उनले तिनको निम्ति अबिया, अत्तै, जीजा र शलोमीत जन्माइन् ।

21 Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his secondary wives: (for he took eighteen wives, and sixty secondary wives, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.)

रहबामले आफ्‍ना सबै पत्‍नीहरू र उपपत्‍नीहरूलाई भन्दा धेरै माया माकालाई गरे (तिनले अठाह्र जना पत्‍नीहरू र साठी जना उपपत्‍नीहरू ल्याए, र तिनका अट्ठाईस जना छोरा र साठी जना छोरी थिए) ।

22 Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, the prince among his brothers; for he intended to make him king.

रहबामले माकाका छोरा अबियालाई दाजुभाइका प्रमुख अगुवा नियुक्त गरे । तिनले उनलाई राजा बनाउने बिचार गरेका थिए ।

23 He dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city: and he gave them food in abundance. He sought for them many wives.

रहबामले बुद्धिमानीपूर्वक राज्‍य गरे । तिनले आफ्ना सबै छोराहरूलाई यहूदा र बेन्‍यामीनका किल्लाबन्‍दी गरिएका जम्‍मै सहरमा पठाए । तिनले उनीहरूका निम्‍ति प्रशस्‍त खानेकुरा दिए र तिनीहरूका निम्‍ति धेरै जना पत्‍नीहरू खोजिदिए ।
