Psalms 57
1 [For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." A poem by David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave.] Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.
Al maestro del coro. Su «Non distruggere». Di Davide. Miktam. Quando fuggì da Saul nella caverna. Pietà di me, pietà di me, o Dio, in te mi rifugio; mi rifugio all'ombra delle tue ali finché sia passato il pericolo.
2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who accomplishes my requests for me.
Invocherò Dio, l'Altissimo, Dio che mi fa il bene.
3 He will send from heaven, and save me, he rebukes the one who is pursuing me. (Selah) God will send out his loving kindness and his truth.
Mandi dal cielo a salvarmi dalla mano dei miei persecutori, Dio mandi la sua fedeltà e la sua grazia.
4 My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Io sono come in mezzo a leoni, che divorano gli uomini; i loro denti sono lance e frecce, la loro lingua spada affilata.
5 Be exalted, God, above the heavens. Let your glory be above all the earth.
Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They dig a pit before me. They fall into its midst themselves. (Selah)
Hanno teso una rete ai miei piedi, mi hanno piegato, hanno scavato davanti a me una fossa e vi sono caduti.
7 My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises.
Saldo è il mio cuore, o Dio, saldo è il mio cuore.
8 Wake up, my glory. Wake up, psaltery and harp. I will wake up the dawn.
Voglio cantare, a te voglio inneggiare: svègliati, mio cuore, svègliati arpa, cetra, voglio svegliare l'aurora.
9 I will give thanks to you, Jehovah, among the peoples. I will sing praises to you among the nations.
Ti loderò tra i popoli, Signore, a te canterò inni tra le genti.
10 For your great loving kindness reaches to the heavens, and your truth to the skies.
perché la tua bontà è grande fino ai cieli, e la tua fedeltà fino alle nubi.
11 Be exalted, God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.
Innàlzati sopra il cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra la tua gloria.
