Numbers 35

1 Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

௧எரிகோவின் அருகே யோர்தானைச் சேர்ந்த மோவாபின் சமவெளிகளிலே யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி:

2 "Command the children of Israel that they give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and you shall give suburbs for the cities around them to the Levites.

௨“இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் தங்களுடைய சொந்த நிலத்தை லேவியர்கள் குடியிருக்கும்படி பட்டணங்களைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடு; அந்தப் பட்டணங்களைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கிற வெளிநிலங்களையும் லேவியர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

3 The cities shall they have to dwell in; and their suburbs shall be for their livestock, and for their substance, and for all their animals.

௩அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் அவர்கள் குடியிருப்பதற்கும், அவைகளைச் சூழ்ந்த வெளிநிலங்கள் அவர்களுடைய ஆடு மாடுகளுக்கும், அவர்களுடைய சொத்துக்களுக்கும், அவர்களுடைய எல்லா மிருக ஜீவன்களுக்கும் குறிக்கப்படவேண்டும்.

4 "The suburbs of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand seven hundred twenty-two feet six inches around it.

௪நீங்கள் லேவியர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் பட்டணங்களைச் சூழ்ந்த வெளிநிலங்கள் பட்டணத்தின் மதில்துவங்கி, வெளியிலே சுற்றிலும் 1,500 அடிகள் தூரத்திற்கு எட்டவேண்டும்.

5 You shall measure outside of the city for the east side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the south side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the west side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the north side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

௫பட்டணம் மத்தியில் இருக்க, பட்டணத்தின் வெளிப்புறம் துவங்கி, கிழக்கே 3,000 அடிகள், தெற்கே 3,000, அடிகள் வடக்கே 3,000 அடிகள் மேற்கே 3,000 அடிகள் அளந்துவிடவேண்டும்; இது அவர்களுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்கு வெளிநிலங்களாக இருப்பதாக.

6 "The cities which you shall give to the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to: and besides them you shall give forty-two cities.

௬நீங்கள் லேவியர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் பட்டணங்களில் அடைக்கலத்திற்காக ஆறு பட்டணங்கள் இருக்கவேண்டும்; கொலை செய்தவன் அங்கே தப்பி ஓடிப்போகிறதற்கு அவைகளைக் குறிக்கவேண்டும்; அவைகளையல்லாமல், 42 பட்டணங்களை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

7 All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities together with their suburbs.

௭நீங்கள் லேவியர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கவேண்டிய பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் 48 பட்டணங்களும் அவைகளைச் சூழ்ந்த வெளிநிலங்களுமே.

8 Concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall take many; and from the few you shall take few: everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give of his cities to the Levites."

௮நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் சுதந்தரத்திலிருந்து அந்தப் பட்டணங்களைப் பிரித்துக் கொடுக்கும்போது, அதிகமுள்ளவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து அதிகமும், கொஞ்சமுள்ளவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து கொஞ்சமும் பிரித்துக்கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; அவரவர் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்ட சுதந்தரத்தின்படி தங்களுடைய பட்டணங்களில் லேவியர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்.

9 Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

௯பின்னும் யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி:

10 "Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

௧0“நீ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களோடு சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நீங்கள் யோர்தானை நதியைக் கடந்து, கானான் தேசத்தில் நுழையும்போது,

11 then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.

௧௧கை தவறி ஒருவனைக் கொன்று போட்டவன் ஓடிப்போயிருக்கும் அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களாகச் சில பட்டணங்களைக் குறிக்கவேண்டும்.

12 The cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.

௧௨கொலைசெய்தவன் நியாயசபையிலே நியாயம் விசாரிக்கப்படும் முன்பு சாகாமல், பழிவாங்குகிறவன் கைக்குத் தப்பிப்போயிருக்கும்படி, அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

13 The cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.

௧௩நீங்கள் கொடுக்கும் பட்டணங்களில் ஆறு பட்டணங்கள் அடைக்கலத்திற்காக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

14 You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Canaan; they shall be cities of refuge.

௧௪யோர்தானுக்கு நதிக்கு கிழக்கு புறத்தில் மூன்று பட்டணங்களையும், கானான்தேசத்தில் மூன்று பட்டணங்களையும் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; அவைகள் அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களாகும்.

15 For the children of Israel, and for the stranger and for the foreigner living among them, shall these six cities be for refuge; that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.

௧௫கை தவறி ஒருவனைக் கொன்றவன் எவனோ, அவன் அங்கே ஓடிப்போயிருக்கும்படி, அந்த ஆறு பட்டணங்களும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கும் உங்களின் நடுவே இருக்கும் பரதேசிக்கும் அந்நியனுக்கும் அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

16 "'But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

௧௬“ஒருவன் இரும்பு ஆயுதத்தினால் ஒருவனை வெட்டினதினால் அவன் செத்துப்போனால், வெட்டினவன் கொலைபாதகனாக இருக்கிறான்; கொலைபாதகன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

17 If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

௧௭ஒருவன் ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, சாகத்தக்கதாக ஒருவன்மேல் எறிகிறதினாலே அவன் செத்துப்போனால் கல்லெறிந்தவன் கொலைபாதகனாக இருக்கிறான்; அவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

18 Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

௧௮ஒருவன் தன்னுடைய கையில் ஒரு மர ஆயுதத்தை எடுத்து, சாகத்தக்கதாக ஒருவனை அடித்ததினால் அவன் செத்துப்போனால், அடித்தவன் கொலைபாதகனாக இருக்கிறான்; கொலைபாதகன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

19 The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death: when he meets him, he shall put him to death.

௧௯பழிவாங்கவேண்டியவனே கொலைபாதகனைக் கொல்லவேண்டும்; அவனைக் கண்டவுடன் அவனைக் கொன்று போடலாம்.

20 If he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,

௨0ஒருவன் பகையினால் ஒருவனை விழத்தள்ளினதினாலோ, பதுங்கியிருந்து அவன் சாகும்படி அவன்மேல் ஏதாகிலும் எறிந்ததினாலோ,

21 or in enmity struck him with his hand, so that he died; he who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer, the murderer must surely be put to death; the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.

௨௧அவனைப் பகைத்து, தன்னுடைய கையினால் அடித்ததினாலோ, அவன் செத்துப்போனால், அடித்தவன் கொலைபாதகன்; அவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும், பழிவாங்குகிறவன் கொலைபாதகனைக் கண்டவுடன் கொன்றுபோடலாம்.

22 "'But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,

௨௨“ஒருவன் பகையொன்றும் இல்லாமல் திடீரென ஒருவனைத் தள்ளி விழச்செய்ததாலோ, பதுங்காமல் எந்த ஒரு ஆயுதத்தை அவன்மேல் பட எறிந்ததினாலோ,

23 or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm;

௨௩அவனுக்கு எதிரியாக இல்லாமலும் அவனுக்குத் தீங்கு செய்ய நினைக்காமலும் இருக்கும்போது, ஒருவனைக் கொன்றுபோடும்படியான ஒரு கல்லினால் அவனைபார்க்காமல் எறிய, அது அவன்மேல் பட்டதினாலோ, அவன் செத்துப்போனால்,

24 then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances;

௨௪அப்பொழுது கொலைசெய்தவனையும் பழிவாங்குகிறவனையும் சபையார் இந்த நியாயப்படி விசாரித்து,

25 and the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he was fled: and he shall dwell in it until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

௨௫கொலைசெய்தவனைப் பழிவாங்குகிறவனுடைய கைக்குத் தப்புவித்து, அவன் ஓடிப்போயிருந்த அடைக்கலப்பட்டணத்திற்கு அவனைத் திரும்பப்போகும்படி செய்யவேண்டும்; பரிசுத்த தைலத்தினால் அபிஷேகம் பெற்ற பிரதான ஆசாரியன் மரணமடையும்வரை அவன் அதிலே இருக்கவேண்டும்.

26 "'But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge, where he flees,

௨௬ஆனாலும் கொலைசெய்தவன் தான் ஓடிப்போயிருக்கிற அடைக்கலப்பட்டணத்தின் எல்லையை விட்டு வெளிப்பட்டிருக்கும்போது,

27 and the avenger of blood find him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kill the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of blood,

௨௭பழிவாங்குகிறவன் கொலை செய்தவனை அடைக்கலப்பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கண்டுபிடித்துக் கொன்றுபோட்டால், அவன்மேல் இரத்தப்பழி இல்லை.

28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.

௨௮கொலைசெய்தவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியன் மரணமடையும்வரை அடைக்கலப்பட்டணத்தில் இருக்கவேண்டும்; பிரதான ஆசாரியன் மரணமடைந்தபின்பு, தன்னுடைய சுதந்தரமான தன்னுடைய சொந்த நிலத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போகலாம்.

29 "'These things shall be for a statute and ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

௨௯“இவைகள் உங்களுடைய வீடுகளில் எங்கும் உங்களுடைய தலைமுறைதோறும் உங்களுக்கு நியாயவிதிப் பிரமாணமாக இருப்பதாக.

30 "'Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person that he die.

௩0எவனாவது, ஒரு மனிதனைக்கொன்றுபோட்டால், அப்பொழுது சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்குமூலத்தின்படி அந்தக் கொலைபாதகனைக் கொலைசெய்யவேண்டும்; ஒரே சாட்சியைக்கொண்டுமட்டும் ஒரு மனிதன் சாகும்படி தீர்ப்புச்செய்யக்கூடாது.

31 "'Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.

௩௧சாகிறதற்கேற்ற குற்றம் சுமந்த கொலைபாதகனுடைய உயிருக்காக நீங்கள் மீட்கும் பொருளை வாங்கக்கூடாது; அவன் தப்பாமல் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

32 "'You shall take no ransom for him who is fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

௩௨தன்னுடைய அடைக்கலப்பட்டணத்திற்கு ஓடிப்போனவன் ஆசாரியன் மரணமடையாததற்கு முன்னே தன்னுடைய நாட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிவரும்படி நீங்கள் அவனுக்காக மீட்கும் பொருளை வாங்கக்கூடாது.

33 "'So you shall not pollute the land in which you are: for blood, it pollutes the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

௩௩நீங்கள் இருக்கும் தேசத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காமல் இருங்கள்; இரத்தம் தேசத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்; இரத்தம் சிந்தினவனுடைய இரத்தத்தினாலே அன்றி, வேறொன்றினாலும் தேசத்திலே சிந்தப்பட்ட இரத்தத்திற்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தியில்லை.

34 You shall not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell: for I, Jehovah, dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.'"

௩௪நீங்கள் குடியிருக்கும் என்னுடைய வாசஸ்தலமாகிய தேசத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தவேண்டாம்; யெகோவாவாகிய நான் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் நடுவே வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்” என்றார்.
