Ezra 3
1 When the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in their cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
Quando chegou o sétimo mês, e os filhos de Israel estavam nas cidades, o povo se reuniu como um só homem em Jerusalém.
2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
Então Jesué, filho de Jozadaque, levantou-se com seus irmãos sacerdotes e Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel e seus parentes, e construiu o altar do Deus de Israel, para oferecer holocaustos sobre ele, como está escrito na lei de Moisés, o homem de Deus.
3 In spite of their fear because of the peoples of the surrounding lands, they set the altar on its base; and they offered burnt offerings on it to Jehovah, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
Apesar do medo deles por causa dos povos das terras vizinhas, eles colocaram o altar em sua base; e ofereceram holocaustos sobre ele a Javé, até mesmo holocaustos de manhã e à noite.
4 They kept the feast of tents, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;
Eles mantiveram a festa das cabanas, como está escrito, e ofereceram as ofertas queimadas diárias por número, de acordo com a ordenança, como o dever de cada dia exigido;
5 and afterward the continual burnt offering, the offerings of the new moons, of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to Jehovah.
e depois as ofertas queimadas contínuas, as ofertas das luas novas, de todas as festas estabelecidas de Iavé que foram consagradas, e de todos que voluntariamente ofereceram uma oferta de livre vontade a Iavé.
6 From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to Jehovah; but the foundation of Jehovah's temple was not yet laid.
Desde o primeiro dia do sétimo mês, eles começaram a oferecer holocaustos a Javé; mas a fundação do templo de Javé ainda não foi lançada.
7 They also gave money to the masons, and to the carpenters. They also gave food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Koresh King of Persia.
Eles também deram dinheiro para os pedreiros e para os carpinteiros. Eles também deram comida, bebida e óleo ao povo de Sidon e Tyre para trazer cedros do Líbano para o mar, para Joppa, de acordo com a doação que eles tinham de Cyrus King of Persia.
8 Now in the second year of their coming to God's house at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began the work and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of Jehovah's house.
Agora, no segundo ano de sua vinda à casa de Deus em Jerusalém, no segundo mês, Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, Jesuá, filho de Jozadaque, e o resto de seus irmãos, os sacerdotes e os levitas, e todos aqueles que haviam saído do cativeiro para Jerusalém, iniciaram o trabalho e nomearam os levitas, a partir dos vinte anos de idade, para terem a supervisão do trabalho da casa de Yahweh.
9 Then Jeshua stood with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Hodaviah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in God's house: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.
Então Jeshua ficou com seus filhos e seus irmãos, Kadmiel e seus filhos, os filhos de Judá, juntos para ter a supervisão dos trabalhadores na casa de Deus: os filhos de Henadade, com seus filhos e seus irmãos, os levitas.
10 When the builders laid the foundation of Jehovah's temple, they set the priests in their clothing with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
Quando os construtores lançaram a fundação do templo de Iavé, colocaram os sacerdotes em suas vestes com trombetas, com os levitas os filhos de Asafe com címbalos, para louvar a Iavé, de acordo com as instruções de Davi, rei de Israel.
11 They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, "For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel." All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah had been laid.
Eles cantaram uns para os outros louvando e dando graças a Javé, “Pois ele é bom, pois sua bondade amorosa permanece para sempre para com Israel”. Todo o povo gritou com um grande grito, quando elogiaram Iavé, porque a fundação da casa de Iavé tinha sido lançada.
12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of ancestral houses, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,
Mas muitos dos sacerdotes e levitas e chefes de família dos pais, os velhos que tinham visto a primeira casa, quando a fundação desta casa foi colocada diante de seus olhos, choraram com uma voz alta. Muitos também gritaram em voz alta de alegria,
13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
para que o povo não pudesse discernir o barulho do grito de alegria do barulho do choro do povo; pois o povo gritou com um grito alto, e o barulho foi ouvido longe.
